(SP) "Zasushlivaya Dolina" - USSR

Zasushlivaya Dolina means "Arid Valley" in Russian.

The year is 1982. The king of Takistan, Nursultan IV Safed, has died at the age of 34 in a traffic accident in Rome. His premature death with no heir for the throne has surprised everyone, and the doubt about the future of the monarchy is rising. In the turmoil of the civilian unrest in the country against the corruption and exploitation of the absolute monarchy, the socialists have returned from their exile in Afghanistan, under the guidance of the leader of the Islamic Socialist Front of Takistan, Samud Bakri, and supported by the Soviet Union, Iraq and socialist Afghanistan, to overthrow the current regime and establish a socialist republic in Takistan. As the Royal Armed Forces are still loyal to the monarchy, and the revolution of the Takistani socialists failed, the last ones have asked for help to their most powerful ally, the USSR. Under a decision of the Soviet Politburo, a large invasion force has been gathered in the frontier between the Chernarussian SFSR and Takistan, and now is entering to occupy the country and establish Bakri as the head of state of the country.

The Soviet forces in the country have taken some cities of the southern coast and are now advancing to the centre of Takistan. Those forces are now a few kilometres to the south of a strategically important airfield near the town of Rasman. Before they reach the airfield, the town of Bastam must be taken. The objective of the forces here is to capture the valley of Rasman that connects the town with Garmarud and Garmsar.
