The Different Enemy Factions


In The Division, there are 4 different enemy factions who exist in the game.
These factions are:
The Rioters
The Cleaners
The Rikers
The Last Man Battalion

In this guide I will go into detail about the different types of enemies in each faction, how they look like, what weapons they use and what do they do.
The Rioters


The Rioters

The Rioters are your basic street gangsters and hooligans who loot dead bodies for items and roam around the streets of New York.
These are the first enemies you will meet when you play The Division and they can be found in low leveled areas.

There are 5 different types of enemies in the rioter gang:
Lurkers(Regular Soldiers)
Dare Devils(Grenadiers)
Bruisers(Shocktrooper)
Lookouts(Snipers)
Heavy Weapons(Heavy Gunners)

Lurkers
Lurkers are your regular soldiers which you will see roaming around.
They can be identified by having a hoodie and holding their equipped weapons.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Lurkers will have more armor than the regular Lurker.
They are equipped with a PF45 pistol or an SMG-9 sub-machine pistols.
They have no weakness points and shooting at them normally would take them out easily.

Dare Devils
Dare Devils are your grenadiers which usually will accompany a group of rioters.
They can be easily identified by their backpack which they keep their grenades in.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Dare Devils will have more armor than the regular Dare Devil.
The regular Dare Devils are equipped with 586 Magnums and tear gas grenades while the Veteran and Elite Dare Devils are equipped with a M1911 pistol and tear gas grenades.
Their weakness point is the backpack they carry and shooting it multiple times will cause the backpack to explode causing instant death to the Dare Devils.

Bruisers
Bruisers are your rushers who rushes your position and will usually accompany a group of rioters.
They can be identified by having a hoodie and holding a melee weapon.
Bruisers will have 2/3 of normal rioters' health.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Bruisers will have more armor than the regular Bruisers.
The regular Bruisers are equipped with a baseball bat while the Elite Bruisers are equipped with a golf club.
They have no weakness points and shooting at them normally would take them out easily.

Lookouts
Lookouts are your snipers who engage in long distance firefights and usually are found in defensive positions.
They can be identified by having a poncho and holding their sniper rifles.
Lookouts will have 2/3 of normal rioters' health.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Lookouts will have more armor than the regular Lookouts.
The regular Lookouts are equipped with M44 carbines and PF45 pistols while the Veteran and Elite Lookouts are equipped with Cassic M1As and PF45 pistols.
They have no weakness points and shooting at them normally would take them out easily.

Heavy weapons
Heavy Weapons are your heavy gunners who would usually accompany a group of rioters.
They can be identified by their large size conpaired to normal rioters and holding their LMGs.
Heavy Weapons have 50% more health than a regular rioter.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Heavy Weapons will have more armor than the regular Heavy Weapons.
All Heavy Weapons are equipped with a RPK-74 light machine gun.
Their weakness point is their backpack they carry and shooting it multiple times will cause the ammunition inside their backpack to detonate and slowly take away their health and armor.
The Cleaners

The Cleaners
The Cleaners are a group of sanitation workers who previously worked in New York's sanitation plants. Their goal is to wipe out the virus by burning everything which is infected by it.
They are most likely the second faction you will fight against and they can be found in the mid leveled areas.

There are 7 types of enemies in the Cleaner group:
Sweepers(Normal Soldiers)
Shields(Rushers)
Collectors(Only Seen In Dragon's Nest)
Controllers(Snipers)
Mechanics(Technicians)
Incinerators(Heavies)
Fire Truck(Only Seen In Dragon's Nest)

Sweepers
Sweepers are the regular cleaners who go around burning everything which is contaminated and are the most common type of enemy in the Cleaner group.
They are easily identified as they have gas tanks on their backs.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Sweepers will have more armor than the regular Sweepers.
All Sweepers are equipped with AK-47s with home-made flamthrowers attached to at the front.
Their weakness point are their gas tanks that they carry, shoot it multiple times and it will explode causing the Sweeper to get killed instantly.

Shields
Shields are the rushers of the cleaner group and they will rush towards your position, they can be found in cleaner roaming groups.
They are identified by their shield and axe.
They have 2/3 the amount of health and armor than a regular cleaner.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Shields will have more armor than the regular Shields.
All Shields are equipped with bullet-resistant shields* and fire axes.
They have no weakness points and shooting them anywhere except their shield would take them out.
*Note : Shield can be broken if shot many times

Collectors
Collectors are cleaners who only can be found in the Dragon's Nest Incursion.
They are identified by having the same outfit with Shields but instead of shields and axes, they have a rifle.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Collectors will have more armor than the regular Collectors.*
All Collectors are equipped with AK-47 rifles.
They have no weakness points and can be killed by normally shooting at them.
*Note : I personally have never seen a normal or a veteran Collecter myself, I have only seen Elite Collectors

Controllers
Controllers are your normal snipers for the cleaner group and can be found at defensive positions.
They are identified by their blue boiler suits and their sniper rifles.
They have 2/3 the amount of health and armor than a regular cleaner.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Controllers will have more armor than the regular Controllers.
regular Controllers are equipped with Classic M1As and M9 pistols while Veteran and Elite Controllers are equipped with Socom M1As and M9 pistols.
They have no weakness points and can be killed normally by shooting at them.

Mechanics
Mechanics are cleaners who can deploy turrets and in challenging difficulties can deploy remote controlled cars which carry explosives, Napalm B and tear gas which explode when close to their target.
They are identified by their cap and their shotguns.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Mechanics will have more armor than the regular Mechanics.
All Mechanics are equipped with M870 shotguns and PF45 pistols.
They have no weakness points and can be killed normally by shooting at them.

Incinerators
Incinerators are large cleaners who appear at boss fights.
They are easily identified by their large appearance and multi gas tanks.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Incinerators will have more armor than the regular Incinerators.
All Incinerators are equipped with a large flamethrower which they use to burn players at long range.
Their weakness points are the 3 gas tanks that they carry behind them, shooting them will cause them to explode and take a large part of their health away.

Fire Truck
The Fire Truck is the boss in the Dragon's Nest Incursion
It is equipped with flamethrowers and incendiary missiles.
The Rikers


The Rikers
The Rikers are a group of prisoners who escaped from Rikers Island Prison under the leadership of Larae Barret who united them into one gang known as The Rikers.
The Rikers are most likely the third group you come across in Manhatten and they can be found in mid leveled to high leveled areas.

The Rikers have 6 different types of enemies:
Enforcers(Regular Soldiers)
Slinger(Grenadier)
Runner(Rushers)
Hitmen(Snipers)
Guards(Heavy Gunners)
Bosses(Improved Enforcers)

Enforcers
Enforcers are your regular soldiers who roam around in Riker groups.
They can be identified by their balacava and their white masks.*
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Enforcers will have more armor than the regular Enforcers.
Regular Enforcers are equipped with AK-47Ms while Veteran and Elite Enforcers are equipped with M4s.
They do not have any weakness points so normally shooting them will take them out.

Slingers
Slingers are The Riker gang's grenadiers and they will usually be found in Riker roaming groups.
They can be identified by their red grenade pouch on their left leg.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Slingers will have more armor than the regular Slingers.
Regular Slingers are equipped with T821s and frag grenades while Veteran and Elite Slingers are equipped with MP5s and frag grenades.
Their weakness point is the red pouch on their left leg, shoot it multiple times and it will explode and instant kill the Slinger.

Runners
Runners are The Riker's rushers and they rush your position, they are commonly found in Riker roaming groups.
They can be identified by their jockey cap.
They have 2/3 health and armor of a regular Riker.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Runners will have more armor than the regular Runners.
All Runners are equipped with M870s.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them can take them down.

Hitmen
Hitmen are the snipers for the Rikers and can be found in defensive positions.
They can be identified by their voice as they are females.
They have 2/3 health and armor of a regular Riker.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Hitmen will have more armor than the regular Hitmen.
Regular Hitmen are equipped with M1As while Veteran and Elite Hitmen are equipped with Covert SRSs.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them can take them down.

Guards
Guards are the heavy gunners of the Rikers gang and they can be found in Riker roaming groups.
They can be identified as their size is significantly bigger than normal Rikers and they wear a blue police helmet.
They have 3 times the health of a normal Riker.
All Guards are equipped with M249 B Para LMGs.
Their weakness points are their backpacks which they carry ammo in, shoot it multiple times and it will detonate the ammo inside the backpack causing the Guard to lose health and armor slowly.

Bosses
Bosses are like a improved enforcers but with different weapons and more health.
They can be identified as they are a normal enforcer with a jockey cap.
They have 50% more health and armor than regular Rikers.
All Bosses are equipped with MP5s and Flashbang grenades.
They have no weakness points and shooting them normally would take them out.
The Last Man Battalion


The Last Man Battalion
The Last Man Battalion is a private military firm who was at first supposed to defend wall street assets but after the outbreak, they became a mercenary group under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Charles P.I.S.S.

The Last Man Battalion have 12 types of enemies:
Riflemen
Grenadiers
Scouts
Snipers
Engineers
Medics
Gunners
Squad Leaders
Rogue First Wave Agents
Helicopter(General Assembly Boss)
APC(Falcon Lost Boss)
Drones

Riflemen
Riflemen are the base units of the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB roaming groups.
They can be identified by their white snow camo outfits.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Riflemen will have more armor than the regular Riflemen.
Regular riflemen are equipped with M4s in lower levels, P416s in higher levels with flashbangs. Veteran And Elite Riflemen are equipped with ACRs and incendiary grenades.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them can take them out.

Grenadiers
Grenadiers are the explosive experts for the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB roaming groups.
They can be identified by their grenade launchers.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Grenadiers will have more armor than the regular Grenadiers.
Regular Grenadiers are equipped with M4s and MGL Grenade Launchers while Veteran And Elite Grenadiers are equipped with P416s and MGL Grenade Launchers.
Their weakness point is their grenade storage pouch around the belt area, shoot it multiple time and it will explode killing the Grenadier instantly.

Scouts
Scouts are the rushers of the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB roaming groups.
They can be identified as they are the only LMB unit who doesnt wear a helmet.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Scouts will have more armor than the regular Scouts.
Regular scouts are equipped with M4s and M870s while while Veteran and Elite Scouts are equipped with P416s and SASG-12s.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them would take them down.

Snipers
Snipers are the long range combatants for the Last Man Battalion and can be found in defensive positions.
They can be identified as they are the only females in the LMB.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Snipers will have more armor than the regular Snipers.
Regular Snipers are equipped with SRS A1 Covert rifles and M9 pistols while Veteran and Elite Snipers are equipped with SRS A1 Covert rifles and MP5s.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them would take them down.

Engineers
Engineers are the electronic experts of the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB roaming groups.
They can be identified by their jockey cap and rifle.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Engineers will have more armor than the regular Engineers.
All Engineers are equipped with P416s and turrets. They sometimes appear with M870s as well.
They have no weakness points so normally shooting them would take them down.

Medics
Medics are the medical experts of the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB roaming groups.
They can be identified by their green skullcap and gas mask.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Medics will have more armor than the regular Medics.
All Medics are equipped with M4s or AUGs.
They have no weakness points so shooting them normally would take them down.

Gunner
Gunners are the heavy weapons experts of the Last Man Battalion and can be found in LMB partrols.
They can be identified as they are usually larger than regular LMG troops.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Gunners will have more armor than regular Gunners.
Veteran and Elite Gunners either carry a M249 B or a M60 LMG.
Gunners have twice as much armor and health than regular LMB troops.
Gunners have a special 'Mini Boss' variant who are much larger, more heavily armored and they are equiped with a Tactical shield to move while armed with an M9 pistol, when they plant their shield to the ground, they will take out their LMG and fire. Some of them may have a Police T821 SMG instead of a M9 pistol while moving.
They have an ammo box on their backpack when shot enough times, will detonate and cause damage to the Gunner for a period of time which also stuns them.

Squad Leader
Squad leaders are the leaders of LMB squads and are only usually found in DZ05, DZ06 and in challenging difficulties leading a LMB patrols.
They can be identified by their lack of helmets and red bandanas.
Veteran (Purple) and Elite (Gold) Squad Leaders will have more armor than regular Squad Leaders.
All Squad Leaders are equiped with a semi-auto P416 and flashbangs.
Squad Leaders have more health than regular LMB troops and they can buff their allies to deal more damage.
On challenging and harder difficulties, their flashbangs also acts as an incendiary grenade.
They have no weakness points so shooting at them normally would kill them.

Rogue First Wave Division Agents
Rogue First Wave Division Agents are as the name explains, First Wave Division Agents which went rogue and can be found in DZ05,DZ06 and challenging difficulties as a regular hostile,mini boss or main boss.
They can be identified by their gear which are unique and different from standerd LMB equipment.
All Rogue First Wave Division Agents are Elites (Gold).
They can be equipped with ACRs,AUGs,or SASG-12s.
They have more health and armor than other regular soldiers of equivalent rank, and can deploy Seeker Mines and Turrets including EMP Grenades. They can also signal hack your own gadgets to work for them.
Special varients appearing in HVTs are armed with a Black Markets and can use Sticky Bombs and First Aid.

Helicopter
The Helicopter boss is the final boss in the game and can be found in the mission General Assembly.
Armed with a minigun and rocket pods. Can deploy flares to blind players.

APC
The APC is the boss of the Falcon Lost incursion and can be only found in the Falcon Lost incursion.
Armed with a grenade launcher and a rocket barrage. Also armed with a turret similar to emplaced ones.

Drones
Drones are harrassment units which are only found in the Falcon Lost incursion.
Locks on to player with a laser pointer. There are two types. One of the types is armed with a machine gun and can be identified by red laser, the other type is armed with a turret that fires shock darts, which is identified by blue laser.

dude you forgot about cleaners grenadiers with teir incendiary grenades (fire grenades) and their SMGs... i dont remember correctly which smg they have. also sorry for bad english
