Using console commands in Bioshock Remastered
By CapsLock
Below are most, if not all of the console commands in Bioshock Remastered. If I am missing any then please let me know.
The way that you enable developer console is by right clicking the game in your steam library, and in the launch options add "-allowconsole". Make sure you have the entire thing inside the quotes including the "--". When you are in game, press the tab key to open the terminal.

If you want the original source, then follow this link [gametweaking.blogspot.com] for more detail. I simply wanted to post this on here so it would recieve more attention. If the original creator of this guide is reading this, I will remove this at any time that you ask.

I take no credit for this work. I am simply moving it over to the steam so that more people are aware of these awesome commands.
Navigation
I am sorry if this is basic information, but I want to make sure everyone knows how to navigate through this guide. There are two ways you can go through this.

  1. Use the title cards on the right side of the screen so you can jump from section to section
  2. Press ctrl+f and type in something specific. You can search for something and get to it very fast this way

Give item commands
These commands give you whatever you want in the game.

Command Syntax:

GiveItem NumberOfItem ItemClassName

gives NumberOfItem amount of ItemClassName item to player;

You can set NumberOfItem to any value like '99' or '9999' (good for credits and adam).

The next section lists the valid strings to use for the ItemClassName parameter. Each strings are organized under a catagory like 'Active Plasmids' for all strings dealing with giving active plasmids. A description is given on the right side of the arrow if a comment is needed. The '??' means the command did something but the effect is unknown.

Via C:\ Users\ [user]\ AppData\ Roaming\ BioshockHD\ Bioshock you can access the file "user.ini" (at least for me this path works). Search for "[Default]" section and use an unbound key (eg F7) for any code you want to use. Save, and in game press that key, the cheat will be activated. I only tried it for SetJumpZ [value] to kinda debug, after closing the game everything went back to normal, so idk how it works for any other cheat. Values for different codes can be found on bioshock wiki (https://bioshock.fandom.com/wiki/Console_Commands) . @nativecorusant

What happened? This doesn't seem to work anymore

Can confirm. Console no longer works. But then again there is no command bound to the Tab key by default. Maybe there is a "show console" command that could be bound to make it appear?

I'm sorry but this does not seem to work for Bioshock Remastered as of 2023. Tab does not reveal the console terminal after typing -allowconsole into launch options.
