I've added a new section to the guide called "Enchant roll rules" which details the exact rules - that should answer all your questions :)
Just to make sure i understood you correctly: "Quality" means the distinction between common, magic, unique, legendary and true legendary items? (Its a bit of a confusing term for me, because in PoE "itemquality" is a seperate stat that boosts the affixes on an item, wheras common/magic/rare/unique would be referred to as "raritytiers").
In a nutshell: on a legendary you can have either 1 epic enchant, 1 major enchant and two minor enchants or 2 major enchants and two minor enchants. But you can't have 2 major enchants and an epic enchant, because the epic can't take the place of a minor enchant. Correct?
Sorry for stealing so much of your precious time!
Thanks!
The only thing affecting the augment cap is the quality of the item. True Legendary and Legendary items have the same caps, with the others having lower.
