This mod will no longer look right until Keen restores the ability to add albedo shading. See below. VOTE!

UPDATE: I am working on updating all my planet mods, but I need some help. Many of the planet mods I create make use of albedo shading. This technique, discovered by Xilthis, creates subtle shading that brings a little more depth to planets. We had to use the ore mark mechanic to do this. Since Keen has changed the way ore marks are done, it is no longer possible to do this using that mechanic; but, it is still possible to do if Keen will implement it by making use of an existing, unused texture layer in the same file. If we can get the votes up, maybe they will make this technique part of the approach to planet design. For fans of The Expanse, here is Ceres - based on the actual topography.

Ceres is a dwarf planet located in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. It is rock with an ice core. It has some very curious features. First, the bright, highly reflective spots seen in Occator Crater which are believed to be either ice or sodium carbonate salts - I went with the former. Second, the tallest mountain on Ceres, Ahuna Mons - with it's bright, reflective slopes - is believed by some to be an ice volcano.

Recommended size: 19 km. Relative size would be roughly 9.5km. Unfortunately, the method for creating smaller worlds no longer works. As soon as a new means of creating worlds smaller or larger than the in-game limits becomes available, I will link to it here.

Gravity: 0.05g. (I recommend changing the gravity falloff for Ceres to 2 in the Sandbox_0_0_0_.sbs file)

Note: If you wish to recreate the "spun-up" gravity from The Expanse, the gravity would be about 0.3g at the surface. But, remember that it is centrifugal... outward and not inward. On Ceres Station, what would typically be the floor... is the ceiling.

Planets scaled to 1/32 their RL size and distances 1/25,000 their distances.

This uses Ceres as the starting point of the scenario.

I do research for my mods, so I know what the actual diameter of Ceres is. I based it on the map from NASA. You can always change the size in-game. The features will look the same at 120km as they do at 19.

Real Ceres is 946 km in diameter.

Could you design this mod (or a new mod) so that the topographical features are optimised for a 120 km Space Engineers planet?

Can you re-create the station (as we see) in The expanse and upload that as a world ? I would be thrilled to bring the Roci and dock it in Ceres :D

Yes. The same as you'd find on an Earth-like. Use an ore detector.
