The Secrets of Fast Progression (& Profit)
By Varietas
Using the rest system, quick travel system and swapping trucks with workers to create efficient and almost instantaneous profit, allowing you to make such profit that trucking becomes a relaxing adventure exploring the map rather than completing jobs repeatedly. WARNING: The systems explained may cause loss of enjoyment in the game and thus I recommend these mechanics be used to gain achievements such as 'Swimming in Success' and 'Working with the Elite' but not as a neccessary supplement to game progression.

Starting Up
First you need a company.

Second, you need to choose a starting city to begin your trucking journey, any city will do unless your hunting for the 'National Company' achievement then I advise you choose Luxembourg - since that's the only city in that country you gain the achievement immediately.

Starting City suggestions:
-London (In England, across ports)
-Berlin (Central location)
-Oslo/Edinburgh (Northern locations)
-Luxembourg (For 'National Company' achievement)
-Dusseldorf (as there is a high city density surronding it)

Third complete 5 missions, you'll have some cash to dispose of and a few emails about loans. Here's when things truly begin.
Loans
So you've unlocked loans
You have a few options here, however, I advise you wait for the £340,000 loan (unlocks at level 3), this is because it has the lowest interest rate at only 12%. With this new capital upgrade your garage so that you can house 2 workers (excluding yourself) - this will cost £144,000 - then buy a truck for yourself and your another for you first worker. After that you need a worker to drive your 2nd truck, so get hiring! You won't find experienced drivers at a low experience level so purchase a worker of 0.8 - 1.7 rating, eventually they'll improve that rating so don't worry that they're inexperienced. At this stage you just want a cheap worker to create some profits to pay the daily interest.

The remainder of the loan
So you should have some cash from the loan yet to use, keep this for now and complete some jobs until you can afford to purchase a 3rd truck and emply your 2nd worker. This is considerably increase your daily profits. However, keep some cash in your bank just in case you get fined for a road accident or such.

Upgrading your profit margin
The workers will level up over time making their profits (per mile) increase greatly. You can assist this increase in profit by upgrading your worker's trucks, increasing their engines horsepower so they can complete jobs at greater pace.
Levelling your workers
So your workers are beginning to level, you should know you can target them on a specific training policy as shown below from the driver manager menu.

Option One - High profit but Infrequent Returns
If you care more about higher profit in lump sums then this option is best.

- Focus the first 6 levels into Long Distance
- Then focus the worker on Fragile/High Value Cargo

(You could also then focus them onto Ecodriving to decrease expense of petrol/gas, however this is not an efficient use of workers experience levels.)

Note: This optioned is advised by the guide, as its effectiveness is increased with rest cycles (which is explained in a later section).

Option Two - High Value Crago
Alternatively, you could let your workers travel shorter distance (and thus lower income) but focus heavily on obtaining frequents cash sums from your workers.

-Focus 1 level onto Long Distance
-Then focus entirely on High Value Crago

This option may be more efficient (?), though I would suggest that the explotation of sleep/rest cycles may make option 1 more efficient, yet this option is suggested as it may work better in the long-term.
Resting
Once you have two workers you'll be wanting to start paying off those loans that are taking installments, so you need to let time pass to gain profit to pay the loans, this is done with rest cycles.

Rest when your timer says 8 h 59 min
Resting takes up 9 in-game hours, you can do 3 cycles of rests in a row summing to 27 hours. Then you must wait a while before another rest cycle. The rest tab on your 'sat-nav manu' (F6) after the 27 hour rest period it shall state the next rest time is 11 hours, however, when that number reaches just below 9 hours you may complete another 27 hour rest cycle.

This means you have 2 hours in-game time to use in between rest cycles.

What to do with the 2 hours?
So you have 2 hours to waste eh? Here's a couple suggestions:

-Explore the map (For the 'Pathfinder' achievement)
-Complete short jobs for extra profit

(If you do choose to explore, try to travel to the opposing side of the map to where your starting city, as you'll want your second garage to be located as far away from there as possible, fully explained later in the guide.)

Note: Travelling across ports to use these 2 hours while not work, this simply resets the rest timer.

What's the next step?
So you been completing yor rest cycles (over and over and over) but what now? In simple terms you want more workers and this is achieved by acquiring a second garage. So use that exploring/travelling you did inbetween your rest cycles and buy a second garage somewhere new.

The Second Garage
So you followed your planning to purchase a second garage, you've amassed £144,000 to buy it but which city?

Where's an appropriate place?
Well, as far away from you first garage as possible, if you started in London, consider Budapest or another city in Hungary. If you started in Oslo, consider Verona or elsewhere in Italy.

The reason for the distance will be made apparent shortly.

So... third garage?
No, no, hold on to the garages you have for now. You'll want to begin to upgrade your current two garages to their maximum sizes before purchasing a third.
Quick Travel
Tired of the 27 hour sleep cycle I suggested earlier? Honestly I wasn't a fan either, so here's how I made it irrelevent and considerably easier to make profits.

Abusing Quick Travel
You have two garages and here is where the most significant part of the guide comes in, making the previously mentioned "27 hour rest cycles" almost useless. You can quick travel between your garages! This travel consumes game time and it only uses a single button! For example quick travelling between Edinburgh and Warszawa takes 3 days, forget resting for just over a day you can now triple that profit you were making back then with quick travel!

If you have marginally good daily profits from your workers you can now essentially retire from trucking everywhere and just quick travel between your trucking empire while making ludicrous profit!

So you've made Eurotruck Simulator into an advanced clicker game
So do what you would in any clicker game, hire more workers, buy more garages and trucks, and make more profit!
An Alteration/Alternative
The original purpose of this guide was to point attention to the ability of using the quick travel system to greatly increase profit, however, it has been brought to my attention that this is not the only game mechanic that can be abused in this way.

This improved system abuses time it takes your workers to complete jobs and forwards time to the end of their job. It involves relocating yourself to take over one of your workers' trucks. Enter the 'Driver Manager' screen, find the driver currently on the longest job and 'relocate' yourself to use their truck. The time that is stated as time until job completion will be the time that you skip to. As you cannot use their truck while their on a job, thus the game forwards to the next moment that truck is not in use, the completion of their job. Providing you with the income gained from the workers job. Also this do not require a second garage as the guide focuses so intently on.

So, keep finding the workers on the longest job and swap trucks with them. Rinse and repeat.

Much thanks to lumrod; who brought this to my attention.

Full credit goes to Mark Chandler for creating the video and explaining the alternative system to the quick travel idea, which significantly improves upon the concept.
Thank You!
Hopefully I have provided you a way to progress quickly in Eurotruck Simulator 2 and allowed you to create profits with great efficiency and haste.

If you have any questions or any changes you'd like to suggest, I'd be willing to address those in the comments.

@Zane I was once working on a guide to answer that exact question but I never got around to posting it. Simple conclusion: Yes, high quality trucks = higher income.

Do the type of trucks your workers drive have any impact on their earnings?

@MF DOOM, you need to go to other cities and buy garages, they have small house symbol..and wrench near it.

I just started playing, I have a garage in Rotterdam with 2 drivers, but I'm wondering how I can buy new garages, I know its a stupid question, but I haven't found out yet :(
