The US naval transport ship, the USNS 2nd LT John P Bobo, arrived 07.06.2012 at the Paldiski Southern Harbor, transporting armored vehicles, supplies and US Marines, who will take part in the BALTOPS military exercises.

The 200m long ship is carrying tanks, heavy construction equipment and supplies to support a 1000 man Marine battle group.

At noon on June 14, the US Marines demonstrated the disembarkation of vehicles and supplies from the USNS Bobo using a system of lighters. The operation can be seen by the public from viewing areas near Paldiski, ESTONIA.

Paldiski Lõunasadamasse saabus 07.06.2012 USA Mereväe transpordilaev USNS Bobo, mis tõi Eestisse tehnika, varustuse ja merejalaväe üksused liitlaste vastuvõtuõppuseks BALTOPS.

Üle 200-meetri pikkuse transpordilaeva pardal on tehnika, varustus ja relvastus 1000-mehelise pataljoni lahingugrupi tarbeks.

14. juunil demonstreerisid USA merejalaväelased Paldiski lähistel varustuse ja sõjaväemasinate kaldale toimetamist ranniku lähedal seisvalt laevalt lihtrite süsteemi abil, mis võimaldab kaldale tuua varustust kuni 4 miili kaugusel rannikust. Demonstratsiooni oli võimalik jälgida kõigil huvilistel 14. juunil kell 12 Paldiski Põhjasadama lähistel.
