Learn the star classes!

It's elemental to know the stars you can fuel scoop at.

There's an easy slogan to remember: "Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me!".
So all scoopable stars are: O, B, A, F, G, K and M.

It's the best to set the route plotting filter to "star classes" at all!
Just select O, B, A, F, G, K, M to filter your route and scoop fuel as you wish.
It will save tons of time and propably your ship.

So you found this guide when you ran out of fuel, did you? And now you’re wishing you had known about this rule of thumb earlier?

Fear not! The fuel rats are here to save you! The fuel rats are a player group dedicated to rescuing new and old CMDRs alike whom for one reason or another has run out of fuel.

Head on over to https://www.fuelrats.com/ click the red button labelled “get Help” and you’ll be able to join our IRC chat and a dispatcher will guide you on how to proceed and help get one or more fuel rats assigned to you.

FAQ:
Q: What/how do I pay?
A: The service provided by the fuel rats are entirely free.

Q: How likely are you to save me?
A: We recently rounded 20.000 CMDRs saved and we’ve maintained a >95% success rate, if we can save you, we probably will.

Q: Do you only operate in populated space?
A: No, we don’t have a set limit to how far out into space you can be, but it might take us a bit to get there.

Q: Can I join?
A: You can! Please have a look at the website to lean more.

yeah, not gonna lie. I learned it as KGB FOAM when I first started out. and prefer it. to me its easier to remember, less creepy, great for brevity and is in general easier to use in conversation without making it sound like I am coming on to someone.

I'm guessing the KGB came up with KGB Foam for it to be so widely cited here, because it's an illogical diversion, and not any harder to learn than the original, actually useful mnemonic. Unless, I suppose, you're not used to having to learn stuff or generally utilize critical thinking skills. Outside of this thread, I've never met an astronomer or astrophysicist who used KGB Foam.
