Illyrian Tribes

Description
Hi,

this is my new unitmod. A mod, which try to differentiate between the Dalmatae, Daorsi and Ardiaei and give them different unit reskins and a few unit additions, which reflect the illyrian very mobile warfare.

I. The Dalmatae

The Dalmatae or Delmatae were a illyrian tribe, which was related with the northern Pannonii and east illyrian tribes.
Their name "Delmatae" appears to be connected with the albanian word "delmë, dele" which means sheep in English. They were shepherds and cattle breeders. Although Archaeology shows, that their material culture was more archaic than the other illyrian tribes, their weapon productions was rather advanced. They were also known for fur pelt caps.



I made reskins of Illyrian Tribesmen, Illyrian Spearmen, Illyrian Marines, Illyrian Thureos Spears, Illyrian Hoplites, Illyrian Noble Hoplites, Slave Slingers, Slave Javelinmen, Illyrian Levies and Illyrian Raiders for the Dalmatians.

New Units:

Delmatian Peltasts (mid javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_2)
Delmatian Heavy Peltasts (high javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_3)
Delmatian Hippakontistai (mid javelin cav, recruitable from barb_agriculture_horse_2)


II. The Daorsi

The Daorsi were a heavily hellenised illyrian tribe, which lived in the valley of the Neretva river. Their capital Daorson was built around a acropolis, surrounded by cyclopean walls made of huge stone blocks like in Mycenae. The Daorsi used the Greek language and alphabet and kept trading relations with Greece.


I made common reskins of Illyrian Tribesmen, Illyrian Spearmen, Slave Slingers, Slave Javelinmen, Illyrian Levies and Illyrian Raiders for the Daorsi and Ardiaei, but different reskins of Illyrian Cavalry, Illyrian Marines, Illyrian Thureos Spears, Illyrian Hoplites, Illyrian Noble Hoplites for Daorsi and Ardiaei.

New Units:

Dardanian Peltasts (low mid javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_2)
Autariatae Peltasts (mid high javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_3)
Dardanian Rhomphaia Warrior (low mid rhomphaia unit, recruitable from barb_artisan_bronze_2)


III. The Ardiaei

The Ardiaei were an illyrian tribe, which lived in today Montenegro. The Ardiaei became a regional power under the rule of King Agron in 230 BC, but were subdued by the Romans under the rule of Queen Teuta because of ardiaeian piracy in the Adriatic.


I made common reskins of Illyrian Tribesmen, Illyrian Spearmen, Slave Slingers, Slave Javelinmen, Illyrian Levies and Illyrian Raiders for the Daorsi and Ardiaei, but different reskins of Illyrian Cavalry, Illyrian Marines, Illyrian Thureos Spears, Illyrian Hoplites, Illyrian Noble Hoplites for Daorsi and Ardiaei.

New Units:

Byllionian Light Infantry (low mid Light Infantry, recruitable from barb_artisan_bronze_2)
Taulantian Raiders (low mid javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_2)
Ardiaeian Heavy Axe Peltasts (mid high javelin unit, recruitable from barb_craftsmen_wood_3)

All Illyrian Generals reskinned


Screenshots were made, while using Armoured Horses Mod, CIU East, CIU West from Avetis, which included ACR - Alii Colores Romae from Demokritos, DECALMAP from cjiaba_ and finally Aztec's Environments and Lightings. I recommend to use them for a better graphical experience.

The Stats are developed on Vanilla stats and should fit perfect to Vanilla.

This is a semihistorical, but historic plausible mod, based on Vanillastyle.

I tried to make it historical to my knowledge as possible.

You have to use an All factions playable-Mod to use this units in custom battle and campaign.

I thought about that but then I changed both mods to use your better sica model for raiders, marines, some of his other units, and some of your new generals. Everything looks great.

Well sadly not you can only delete all entries in the tables for the conflicting units in one of the mods.

This mod is great, especially the way it customizes general and unit appearances, but I'm trying to use it alongside Zukhani's Illyrian Overhaul and when I do, the marines' sicas are invisible and the raiders' sicas look like axes again (the unit cards and weapon damage for both are still correct for zukhani's mod). This happens whether I put your mod or his on top. I don't have any other unit or model/texture mods. Is there something I can do to make these two mods compatible?

Illyria / Dalmatia is a rocky region with a historical tradition in livestock herding and so the sling was more used historically.

Adding weak bowmen is pointless in my opinion and so i intentionally didn't add them.

How come?? plenty of tree's in that region. even if not illyrian can't they be like some sort of allied unit or as a unit you get once a certain neighboring region is taken?
