7.27d (Core) [7.27d] Borgy's Huskar - Mid/Offlane - Core
By Borgy
Huskar is a strong situational pick, but a well coordinated team with lots of stuns and armour reduction can spell trouble for you. Avoid if the enemy has a PA or AA.

With the changes Huskar now provides a lot more utility to a teams line up, especially with smart use of your ultimate and items like radiance and hurricane pike to help you use your new Inner Fire ability to push the enemy into bad positions. Jump in and cause some havoc while your new Health Regen keeps you chugging along. I feel its more important then ever in this patch to get ahead and stay ahead as huskar, make sure you deny as much as you last hit so you can get ahead.

This guide provides a number of builds centred around physical and magical damage which can both be useful depending on the game. Remember armlet toggling is a must to get the most out of the blue beast and always try to turn your armlet off when healing. One must always maintain self control with Huskar, its very easy to get trigger happy and ulti into a stupid situation repeatedly. As soon as you lose momentum with huskar the game is over! So do not commit to fights needlessly unless its a good trade.

Mid is all about last hitting and denying with your fast attack speed. If against a melee mid, rush boots and then time it so when he goes for a last hit you run behind him and stutter step your fire spears so you beat him onto his high ground. Especially against glass cannons such as SF and OD you can generally zone them well away from the creep wave if you have more regen then them. Aggro the creeps into the river and then stand on their side of the hill so they can not get into XP range. Deny as much as possible and do not go for kills unless guaranteed. Care for ganks and remember to TP to other lanes when they are ganked or tower dived, especially once level 6. Huskar mid is all about the first 15mins, you need to snow ball and either get the early VoD and Radiance or Halberd. Once you have the first major item on the list you can start to look for ganking oppurtunities.

I really like huskar on the offlane currently, follow the normal builds but add some utility to support your team fight potential. Early mek or pipe can really help.
If you are dual lane against a melee carry then go aggressive and really mess with his farm, everytime he goes for a last hit you can stack fire spears and then he will either have to back off and regen or risk death. If solo then try and aggro creeps towards your tower so you are safer and just do not die. Leech XP and farm your jungle creeps with fire spears until 6 and then go gank the other lanes with your ulti. Its a slower build up but your utility comes from the fact that the other team has to deal with you early on in fights otherwise you wreck their faces and provide huge buffs to your team. The more time they spend dealing with you then the more time your actual 'cores' have to farm come online and then kill them all.

I tried this tactic, I LOST. I blame you for ruining my 15 K/D ratio and making me record my first loss. I will never trust what you say again Mr Borgy. IF THAT IS YOUR REAL NAME.

Go play LoL you scrub, you give DOTA a bad rep.
