A script with a HUD icon for the M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle.

Type: Flash outline (artwork unfinished)

This addon replaces SCRIPTS (changes the in-game weapon stats)! That means you can only play on a server (your own or your friend's host) which has this script enabled. Disable this mod (and preferrably restart the game) if you want to join online servers.

That also means that you need to subscribe to 1 (one) of the "Required Items" to get the model itself. Do not ignore the window that pops up after you subscribe! If you do, you can find them (the Required Items) to the right of the preview/description/comment section, where the author(s) is(are) credited and the stats are shown.

The scripts changes are:
  • HUD icon
  • 20 round capacity (def. 40)
  • 98 damage per shot (def. 58)
  • ~545 rounds per minute (def. ~461)
  • 180 reserve ammo (def. 360) - sniper rifle ammo

69 isn't a joke. Just like 420 or whatever other number kids find hilarious.

And it's actually +68.965517% damage per shot, which is homerically funny.

I forgot to mention (but you've probably guessed that) that if I reduce the ammo reserve, I'll give it twice as much damage. Also, the AMMO_TYPE_SNIPERRIFLE is coded to one-shot Commons on all difficulty levels, regardless of damage, except if Realism is in action.

@ElConesaToLoco, I experimented with a G3 script that is basically a full-auto Military Sniper Rifle with minor differences. It has half the ammo reserve (180 vs 360), which is sorta fun to keep in check, but it runs out very quickly if you go trigger-happy.

In order to keep the default DPM for the AK at 600 RPM, the damage should be 44-45. At 700, it is already 38, as seen in my MW2 FAL script. So, if we want to keep the weapons at Valve's level of balance, I'll either make a monstrous weapon which you'll rarely fire in full-auto due to ammo starvation, or a generic assault rifle with no one-shot capability. Pick your poison.

Hey Alex, I've checked your scripts looking for something that fits for a FAL or G3 AK47 replacement. This seems be be the closest one, so I'm wondering if you could make a new script that would fit them better. Something like 20 rounds, increased ROF (600 if G3, 700 if FAL) and keeping damage above 50 to maintain the normal difficult 1 shot kill in common infected, because reducing the magazine to 20 is a serious drawback.
