How to disable the FPS-Lock (e.g. for 144Hz displays)
By Max Impression
Here i'll just describe in short, how you are able to disable the FPS-Lock. I've found this information across the web and it seems like there is no fixed guide with the correct information displayed. This Guide may be subject to change and could get useless with future Updates of Dead by Daylight.

1. Disable V-Sync in GameUserSettings.ini
First of all you should be disabling V-Sync in your GameUserSettings.ini.
This is done by hopping into the Folder

AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

of your User-Folder.

The easiest way to get into AppData is by running the "Run..." Dialog from Windows.
Either by doing a right-click on the windows start symbol and clicking "Run..." or by pressing and holding the Windows-Button and pressing R.

Enter "%LOCALAPPDATA%\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" and we will be right where we want to start...

...which is here:

Now you open the GameUserSettings.ini by double-clicking on it. Make sure Dead by Daylight isn't running and you have full access to this file. I assume you are running the default windows notepad.

Now we come to the easiest part - disabling V-Sync. This is done by searching for the line bUseVSync=True in the file and set it to bUseVSync=False. Don't add any spaces or breaks to the file. This is how it should look like after changing the line:

Now either press File in the top context menu and hit Save or use the Shortcut key combination "Ctrl + S".

Congrats, you've disabled V-Sync, but there's still more to do as the FPS-Lock of 62 will still kick in. Let's see part 2 on how to do that.
2. Disable FPS-Lock in the Engine.ini
Welcome to part 2 on how to Disable the FPS-Lock of Dead by Daylight.
Now i assume that you just followed part 1. If you don't know what you are doing here please follow part 1 first. You should still be in the folder WindowsNoEditor:

Now you open op the Engine.ini in this folder. This file follows the same rules as in part 1. Make sure you have full access to it.

You now just should see a few path variables. We can ignore those, though.

Whats important is, that you add the following text to your Engine.ini:

[/script/engine.engine]
bSmoothFrameRate=false
MinSmoothedFrameRate=5
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=144
bUseVSync=false

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD SET YOUR MaxSmoothedFrameRate TO THE MAXIMUM REFRESH RATE YOUR DISPLAY IS RUNNING AT.

Make sure that the [/script/engine.engine] stuff is on top of this small block of information.
After inserting this into your file it should look like this:

Press File in the top context menu and hit Save or use the Shortcut key combination "Ctrl + S" like you did in part 1.

Congrats, you just disabled the FPS-Lock.
3. General tips and hints / FAQ
Welcome to the general tips and hints section of my guide / FAQ:

I've followed both parts of your guide but i still have low fps?

Please note that this Guide CANNOT improve your FPS in general. This guide is regarding the use of a 144Hz Monitor where you would want to display more than the regular 62 frames per second where the game is locked at. You'll still need powerful hardware and/or reduce picture quality to achieve that high fps.

What should i do if i have low fps?

I won't be doing a guide on that although i can give you the hint, that you might find different start options for the game because it's running on Unreal Engine and that you are able to change the Resolution Quality in GameUserSettings.ini. The graphics quality will drop massively changing these options. Otherwise hit some Search Engine and search for the term "Dead by Daylight FPS Boost" or something similar.

I've seen you changed the ResolutionSizeX and ResolutionSizeY in your GameUserSettings.ini. Why did you do that?

Look, it may be that you didn't come across this question until now but usually dead by daylight is rendered below your monitors resolution. This results in upscaling and therefore a loss in picture quality. I've set those parameters to match my monitors resolution resulting in better quality as you are not able to set the resolution in-game at this moment.

Thats it. Thanks for following my guide, i hope you are able to run Dead by Daylight now just as how you've ever wanted to run it.

I WOULD NOT RECOMEND TO UNLOCK THE FPS OVER 120 FPS.

Dead by Daylight takes the FPS counter to stear some stuff. Many people encounter Bugs with too high FPS.

For Example: PERK Deliverance. Even if you unhooked someone savely, i can happen that you cant jump from the Hook.

So if you want to unlock the FPS, stay at 120 FPS.

While this does uncap the frame limit it will also work your gpu to the ground running uncapped at any point in the game including character select. I would highly suggest futher within GameUserSettings.ini adjusting "FrameRateLimit" to your desired frame rate. I suggest this because I was maxing my 2080ti getting 300fps and I did not need all that extra performance or heat.
