Crucible Transport Vessel (Stock)

Beskrivning
The Crucible is HDY's military supply tender. It has a versatile operating range and can perfom lunar landings, enabling it to supply remote outposts with their necessarities. The ship has stood the test of time (some Crucibles are reaching well into their fifties and are still in service) thanks to its sturdy spaceframe and low maintenance intervalls. The Crucible sees both civilian and military use, as part of colony-ship convoys as well as supplying large warships on lengthy patrols. HDY engineers soon took notice of the ship's potential and modified it into a new version that had limited planetary landing capabilities.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
On 16th of August 2016, the Crucible became HDY's first ship to be featured on the front page of the Steam Workshop, a great achievement for the aging veteran!

u need lot hydrogen to lift but 5 tank are better

The ship is not intended to lift off earthlike planets, as it sais in the description, it is for moons only. I tried to make a version for mars environments, but it did not work out for the ship. :I

Don't know if they changed the hydrogen thrusters but it didn't lift on earthlike planet in survival, allready exchanged two cargos for hydrogen tanks but it just drops down like a stone :/

well that going hard

NP, I've build a few ship of my own in creative that worked well, but then in survival, well not so much. Once upon a time we were building PvP - Gunboats and when building it we forgot to add cargo container for ammo! Took use a minute to figure out why we kept running out of ammo.

@High Ground: Thanks, i wasn't aware that the hydrogen requirements change in survival. In my future builds i will try to take that into consideration, hopefully that will work.

TIP: if your planing on having hydrogen be your primary propulsion, you going to want 1 or more tanks of hydrogen. Now if you want cheap breaking thrusters in a pinch you can use oxygen generators and hydrogen thruster but you going to get severally reduces engine output in a survival setting.

Now if you want a ship that can function both on planets and space I highly recommend a combination using Large Atmospheric thruster to keep you aloft in side a planets atmosphere as it doesn't use hydrogen. Plus when you want to get back in to space just point your nose skyward and kick in the main engines.

it may use lot fuel
J4R  [skapare] 17 aug, 2016 @ 0:47
Thanks, for the compliments aswell as for the info. I am not sure if the thrusters consume equal ammounts of fuel in survival and creative, so i only tested it in creative mode...
