Base Campaign Achievements
The goal of the base campaign is to successfully invade the town of Innsmouth. Following a short prologue, you spend Act One building your party and armies. Act Two is spent readying your party and preparing for the invasion. Act Three has you making final preparations and carrying out the invasion.

It's important to note that you can skip most of the story by starting the invasion early. This can happen in two ways: telling Dagon you want to start it already (available any time after Octo joins your party), or letting the in-game date hit January 1, 1929. Unless specified, this guide will assume that you finish all three acts.
Story Achievements
These achievements aren't missable so long as you finish all three acts.
  • Oh Hey. Game's started. This isn't a test acheev or anything.

  • YOU KNOW, LIKE AN RPG. Complete your first side quest.

  • To Serve Mankind Complete act 1.

  • Destroyer of Worlds Complete act 2.

  • THE SOUTH WILL RISE Start a cult.

  • Is It Like Dark Souls? Complete the game. Now please don't refund us.
Ending Achievements
These achievements depend on the outcome of the Invasion of Innsmouth and the fate of your party members. When the invasion starts, you'll take one party member with you to fight Marsh and assign the others to command your armies in Innsmouth. Each party member and army has a skill level. A party member will win their battle if either their skill level or their army's is greater than or equal to that of the enemy army they face; otherwise they'll die. For the invasion to succeed, your party members must win at least three battles.
  • A+ The invasion was good and stuff.

    If the invasion succeeds, you'll get this during the epilogue.

  • F- The invasion was bad and stuff.

    If the invasion fails, you'll get this during the epilogue.

  • Cycle of Violence Stop it.

    Choose not to fight Marsh when confronting him during the invasion.

    To trigger this achievement, you have to fulfill the following criteria:
    1. Recruit all party members. See Subjugated All Pokemon To Your Will.
    2. Choose Riley to lead House Shoggoth in Act 3.
    3. View a random scene in which Riley says "This is so cool, guys. I'm a God." After step 1, visit random locations and this will eventually occur.
    4. All of your party members must survive the invasion of Innsmouth.
    If all three of these criteria are met, you'll get a special scene and the achievement during the epilogue.

  • Whoops Activating the Darkest Timeline.

    Trigger the invasion before teaming up with Webster and Riley Act One. This can only be done by running out of time. You can hibernate for a year at the Devil Reef docks and then spend the remainder training or resting in 10 day increments until after January 1, 1929.

  • They Didn't See This Coming Get your entire party killed at the Invasion of Innsmouth. Excludes any taken to the final battle with Marsh.

    This one's self-explanatory. Assign each party member and army to an enemy army more skilled than them.
Early Invasion Achievements
These achievements are unlocked by starting the invasion manually or by running out of time, while meeting the necessary conditions.
  • Cthulhu Saves Christmas but really kills everyone. Holidays at Innsmouth suck.

    For this one, just start the invasion on Christmas (an in-game date of December 25).

  • Gotta Go Fast Start the Invasion of Innsmouth ASAP.

    After recruiting Octo, tell Dagon that you want to start the invasion already.

  • Look Out, We've Got A Badass Over Here Start the invasion ASAP with all party members at max training. Base party members minimum.

    Train all of your party members to expert and then tell Dagon you want to start the invasion already.
Miscellaneous Campaign Achievements
  • Subjugated All Pokemon To Your Will Recruited every party member.

    There are three optional party members: Keziah, Thatcher and Apocalypse Bunny.

    To get Keziah, confront her at the University Dorms, complete her three trials and then chase her. If you have Thatcher in your party or at least 18 intelligence, you'll be able to convince her to join you. Pick "Feeble opinions..." or "Uh, guys? Anyone speak witch?".

    To get Thatcher, first visit Fort Gethesemane to get a quest to eliminate technomages in Fallen Tree Meadow. After completing that quest, ask Thatcher to be your guide and he'll join your party. To avoid losing him, you'll need to save his mother when given the choice.

    For how to get Apocalypse Bunny, see the Original Halloween 2013 Launch Date achievement. This achievement will unlock after you recruit them all in a single playthrough.

  • Clever Girl Recruit the first secret party member with the second secret party member.

    The "secret" party members are Keziah and Thatcher. If you confront Keziah with Thatcher in your party, you'll get a special dialogue option, "Uh, guys? Anyone speak witch?". Choosing it will have Thatcher convince her to join you and unlock this achievement.

  • Join or Die Recruited every army squad.

    For this achievement, you need to recruit three optional armies: the cephalopods, the werewolves and the technomages.

    For the cephalopods, you just need to complete the beer side quest for the bartender in Drunken Davey Jones' Locker.

    For the werewolves, see the Original Halloween 2013 Launch Date achievement.

    The technomages are a bit trickier. First, you have to kill Doyle during Act One. When Thatcher tells you to rid Fallen Tree Meadow of technomages, choose to fight Doyle instead of talking with him. Later in Act Two, get the orphanage quest from Dagon when getting personal quests from your party members. Then, visit the orphanage on the 13th of any month. You'll run into Doyle's ghost and the technomages will join your army.

  • Male Man You went against canon and forged your own path.

    Play though the game as a male. The achievement will unlock after the epilogue.

  • Original Halloween 2013 Launch Date Do everything at the Spirit Pines location.

    To get to Spirit Pines, visit Fallen Tree Meadow in the Black Woods between October 27th and 31st. To finish everything, make sure that you have at least two days (start on October 27-28) and that you've taken care of the beer-related side-quests for both bartenders beforehand.

    After talking to both Daves, you'll get two quests to complete. The beer-related one can be completed by returning to both bartenders for samples of the recipes you previously delivered, then giving the samples to Canadian Dave. The remaining side-quest can be completed by visiting the Shrine of Ulthar and returning to American Dave. After completing both side-quests, the werewolves will join your army and Apocalypse Bunny will join your party, unlocking the achievement.

  • I, For One, Welcome Our New Kitten Overlords Save the kitties.

    For this achievement, just complete American Dave's side-quest in Spirit Pines (see the above achievement).

  • Night Terrors Recruit Kyle first.
  • We Represent The Lollipop Guild Recruit Emilia first.

    While in Stormwatch to rescue Octo, you'll come across Kyle and Emilia. You have to free both of them, but the achievement will only unlock for the one you free first. The simplest way to get both achievements is just to save right before the choice.

  • Childhood's End (the 2015 SyFy one) Erase a sacred bit of video game history from existence. Good job.

    If you play as a male, you'll have to fight Baldur while rescuing Octo from Stormwatch. Defeating him will unlock this achievement.

  • Sticks feat. Stones Bring Riley to a rap battle.

    When fighting Apocalypse Bunny in Act One, let Riley, Webster or Octo pick who you fight to face Hamlet. Beating him to unlock the achievement.

  • For Every Animal You Save Kill an endangered species.

    During Thatcher's personal quest, kill the Shub-Niggurath.

  • A Disturbance in the Force Kill Chris Avellone.

    When picking a bomb during Act Two, select The Doom That Came to Sarnath. Then, at the end of Act Two, this achievement will unlock.

  • The Doom That Came to Sarnath Get the ultimate weapon from Bokrug's shop.

    During Webster's personal quest, you'll be given the option to either turn Bokrug in or take a bribe. Taking the bribe will unlock a new weapon in his shop, along with this achievement.

  • This Is The Famous Dead Sea Tupperware Unlock all armor and weapons at Bokrug's shop.

    The items and unlock requirements are:
    1. Thinking Cap: Choose "intervene" when Riley fights Pvt. Parts in Act One.
    2. Banhammer: Defeat Shaefer in the Innsmouth Graveyard. The fight can be skipped, but you have to complete it to unlock the item.
    3. Lamb Bone Breastplate: When you first visit the Church, pick "Uh, guys... ? Need some help here." You need at least 15 intelligence for the option to be available.
    4. Cutter John: During Webster's personal quest, take Bokrug's bribe.
    5. Megalodon Megatooth Axe: Beat the optional boss in the Dunwich Orphanage during Act Two. You'll need to accept the relevant quest from Dagon at the same time that you get all of your other party members' personal quests. Then, visit the orphanage on the 13th of any month to fight the boss.

  • Booty Call of Cthulhu We told you this was a dating sim.

    During Act Two, visit Hobo Alley and eat crow...

  • Wordsmith One shot an enemy.

    If your intelligence is high enough at the time, several battles will have only one round. Completing one of these will trigger the achievement. Despite "one shot" being in the description, you don't actually have to get the correct response on the first try, just finish the fight.

    This one will actually be pretty hard to miss if you do all of the side quests. Most of them give you an intelligence point as a reward and you only need 15 points to get the achievement from some of the random battles.

    If you want the achievement ASAP, the first oppurtunity is the fight with Pvt. Parts when you first meet Riley and Webster at Drunken Davey Jones' Locker in Devil Reef. To get the achievement there, you need at least 13 points of intelligence. This can be accomplished by putting all of your initial points into it during character creation, training Perry at the Devil Reef Docks and completing some side quests before asking Davey about Webster.
New Game+ Achievements
Unlike the base campaign, New Game+ is a Cthulu Dating Sim. As such, most of the achievements are just a matter of taking the right branch. The following are story-related achievements that can't be missed:
  • Winter Quarter Finished In New Game+, complete Winter Quarter.
  • Fall Quarter Finished In New Game+, complete Fall Quarter.
  • Mini-game: Magnusball Champion Win a game of Magnusball. NEW GAME+.

And this one can't be missed by a female character:
  • Dragonslaying 101 In NEW GAME+, choose your hero and go bag yourself a dragon.
Romance Achievements
There are several major and minor characters that can be romanced. For the major characters, you'll need to accumulate four "friendship points" and then pick the red "love" option while speaking to them in the Spring Quarter. For the minor characters, you don't need to worry about accumulating points, just pick the correct dialogue options. You can only romance one major character per playthrough, but there's no limit on minor characters.
  • A Cthulhu Dating Sim In New Game+, romance Cthulhu.
  • Rule 34 to the max In New Game+, romance Riley.
  • Manic Pixie Girl In Reverse In New Game+, romance Thatcher.
  • Furry Lover In New Game+, romance Hollywood.
  • Dinosaur Porn In New Game+, romance V. Raptor.
  • Entered Baldur's Gate In New Game+, romance Baldur.
  • Dirty Shoggoth In New Game+, romance Keziah. But why?
  • All The World's A Stage In New Game+, romance Hamlet.
  • Dan Akroyd In New Game+, romance Hamlet's Ghost.
  • Stag In New Game+, romance no one.

    These are the major romance options. Keziah can only be romanced by a female Perry, but the others have no restrictions.

  • Radioactive In NEW GAME+, get caught in a love triangle.

    This is why you can only get one of the above achievements per run: you can actually romance two major characters, but they'll for you to choose between them.

  • Waifu Run Beat New Game+ with every romance.

    Gotta catch 'em all!

  • Hogwarts and a Giant Squid Romance a Boy Wizard. NEW GAME+.

    As a female character, ask the wizard about his wand.

  • Game Dev Stalker Romance Chris Avellone. [NEW GAME+]

    Talk to the bartender in The Elizabeth Dane and pick the blue dialogue option.
Hamlet Achievements
The play, not the character.
  • Go Not To Wittenberg In NEW GAME +, cast Riley as Hamlet.
  • Pusillanimous Wimp In NEW GAME +, cast Thatcher as Hamlet.
  • Hamlet, Prince of Jams In NEW GAME +, cast Hollywood as Hamlet.
  • Hamlet, Prince of Darkness In NEW GAME +, cast Cthulhu as Hamlet.
  • Hamlet vs. Predator In NEW GAME +, cast V. Raptor as Hamlet.
  • John Stamos, Prince of Danes In NEW GAME +, cast Hamlet as Hamlet.

    These are self-explanatory. Just pick the relevant character when casting the play and the achievement will pop shortly after.

  • Hamletpocalypse That's not how the classic story of Hamlet goes at all. What game do you think this is? Elsinore? Buy Elsinore, it's a great game. [NEW GAME+]

    For this one, choose Valerie as Hamlet. It will pop after the play itself.
NG+ Ending Achievements
These will pop during at the end of a New Game+ run if you've met the requirements:
  • Powergamer Play the game through from beginning to end. Full run of the base campaign plus New Game+.
  • Male Man II Play the game through from beginning to end. Full run of the base campaign plus New Game+. As a dude.

    For these, just play through both the campaign and New Game+ (as a male for the second).

  • Acheev Hunter Pop four achievements at once. [NEW GAME+]

    You don't actually have to unlock the four achievements, just meet the requirements for them. They are: one of the major romances (including Stag), Waifu Run, Powergamer and Male Man II.
Miscellaneous NG+ Achivements
These require special choices during the story:
  • Game Dev Tycoon In NEW GAME+, review a video game. Hint hint.
  • Game Dev: Metacritic In NEW GAME+, review a video game poorly.

    When reviewing Hollywoods video game, choose all good or all bad ratings to get the corresponding achievements.

  • I Never Sleep On Planes So I Can't Be Incepted Talk to Thatcher. NEW GAME+.

    Talk to Thatcher about her mother, while playing as Thatcher. You have to meet her/yourself on the Devil Reef beach to unlock the achievement.

  • Yorktown Turn the world upside down. NEW GAME+.

    This one is a bit involved. Here are the steps:
    1. When talking to Jack about ARK cards, make sure to select "So, Coach Banbridge is pretty sexist."
    2. When visiting Hobo Alley for the card quest, select "So, Bainbridge just banished a student?" and then "So, were you HUMAN once?".
    3. After kidnapping the owl, return to the owl park and speak to the groundskeeper. Select "Any leads on who stole the Alpha Owl?" and then "Do many wizards feel this way about the owls?".
    4. In the Hallowearth Academy library, read all of the available books. There's a bit of a theme here...
    5. Talk to the Ganymede and choose "All these books seem to be about wizards killing people.", "All these books about Jack Dodger...", and "Who are you?".
    6. Go to Jack Dodger's room at Hallowearth and choose "Ganymede misses you. Were you in love? Are you?".
    7. Finally, return to Ganymede and choose "We're going to change things. It starts here."
DLC Achievements
  • OH MY GOD IT'S A SUMMER.... sale Buy the Gauss Rifle. [SUMMER OF STEAM]

    This can be found at the Innsmouth General Store.

  • "Here's some money, buy some exclusives for me" Put on the Dustin Starcore Cosplay. [SAN DIEGO NON-EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE DLC]

    This can be found in Sports Complex Gift Shop at Dreamlands Con.

  • No Country for Old Gods Do the quest before you're even given it. [HALLOWEEN DLC]
    1. Go to the Innsmouth Graveyard, select "Talk to the Ghosts" and talk to Brandy May.
    2. Go to the Miskatonic Library and talk to Sanjay.
    3. Head back to the graveyard to give Brandy May the good news and complete the quest.
    4. Go to the Shrine of Ulthar in the Black Woods and touch the spider statue. This triggers a conversation with El Cortez, who would normally give you the quest. The achievement will pop during the dialogue.
    Obviously, this only works if you haven't already visited the Shrine of Ulthar and gotten the quest...

  • Spice = Flow Don't deny people their pumpkin spice. Don't be a monster. [HALLOWEEN DLC]

    Just finish the Pumpkin Spice quest,which you can get from Davey at his bar in Devil Reef.

  • It Launches Vampire Kangaroos Equip the Vampire Kangaroo Launcher. [HALLOWEEN DLC]

    To unlock the Vampire Kangaroo Launcher, complete the Exotic Imports quest, which you cat get from Maxwell at the shop in Devil Reef. The "kangaroo" is in the pumpkin patch at Fallen Tree Meadow in the Black Woods. After you complete the quest, just visit Maxwell's shop again and equip the item to unlock the achievement.

@Dax_Riders: A few things: First, I added the point that you have to have all party members recruited to get the achievement to the guide. Second, the random scene must trigger in the same playthrough. Keep traveling around after appointing thatcher and it will eventually pop. Might take awhile.

Third, there's currently a bug in the final battle fighting the angry mob (reported it just now). The bug causes the party member's level to be ignored and imposes a greather than (not greater than or equal to) check on your army. So, until that's patched, make sure that the level of the army fighting the mob is greater than the mob's. Otherwise, you'll lose that fight.

I don't get it. Riley is the new god of the shoggots, but I don't get any shoggot army squad. The triggered dialog you mentioned - I remember I got it during another playthrough ... but not the last times I tried. And for the invasion ... somebody (mostly Octo) dies. Even at max level and max army ... Could you help me making Cthulhu happy again? :sadcthulhu:

They may show up when you fight the Shub-Niggurath. Whether you get them or Hamlet depends on who accompanies you.
