A Modern Look, for a Modern Game
For me and a lot of people, L4D2 has never delivered the same bleak, nightmarish tone that the origianal L4D was able to. From Day 1 to Today, L4D2 has been a distinctly fun experience. The addition of Melee weapons signaled a change in direction for the series. Left 4 Dead started as a game about claustrophobia, desolated settings and characters, and evolved into a callback to classic Romero films and modern horror thrillers.
Left 4 Dead 2 departed from many of the themes of the first game, shifting focus of the gameplay to an even more reactive, fast paised game. Initially, I and many fans were upset to see what looked like what should be an expansive update, repackaged for retail sale, particualrly because the visual style or fideleity of the game did not seem to have progressed enough to warrant a new title. When we got our hands on the game and could feel and see how different this game was, most embraced the new hotness.
This pack is to give L4D2 a more modern look to reflect the more modern gameplay.
