"This was recently addressed in the latest patch. Hopefully this problem has been resolved!

This game does not work on any AMD Phenom II CPU (the required SSE 4.1 being the culprit)

Natrox is a cool guy, but I want actual game developers to incorporate the patch.
Otherwise, it turns to be another case of "Dark Souls Syndrome" where a good game needs patching, but developers couldn't care less because people buy it anyway and apply community patches.

Ha ha, that's what you get for buying an inferior processor.

But seriously I am very sorry about everyone's issues, I hope the patch works for everyone and the devs resolve this quickly

FX8350 is the one I quite literally just got in the mail as I am writing this comment. I planned to upgrde for a while and this EDF issue kind of prompted me to order it sooner. Thankful for Natrox' fix regardless, though.

A single user named Natrox has beaten a team of developers to the punch and released a file that fixes this issue for most users. Find it here: [Thanks Natrox!]

AMD A6 APU here with 100% crash rate. A lot of people here are forgetting that not everybody can afford a new expensive processor, be more understanding.

It has nothing to do with upgrading or being up-to-date. SSE 4.1 is basically just a compilation option, it's not something you should specifically work around or implement support for in your game. Well, D3 has already acknowledged the problem, so hopefully fix will come soon.

Also, both Rise of the Tomb Raider and Overwatch will run on Phenom II without crashing.

I doubt people can run games of which are generally incredibly unoptimized for people even with modern components, components which are better than than your old components.

Old components are just holding back modern PC's by having developers even try to support them.

I just highly doubt that their motive was to make their game incompatible for such a large portion of users. Honestly, there are those of us who can run games like Just Cause 3 or Assassins Creed Syndicate pushing the graphics and having it run just fine. These older CPU's aren't garbage by any means.
