Ingredients and Techniques
Ingredients

In the future, real alcohol has become a luxury that your clients can not afford. These compounds are mixed to create your drinks.

Some Ingredients have expiration dates. (Purely lore, this does not affect gameplay.)

  • Adelhyde - Red - Possibly related to aldehydes, which relate to fragrance.
  • Bronson Extract - Yellow - Extract from the root of a Bronson Plant
  • Powdered Delta - Blue - A powder of some sort.
  • Flanergide - Green - ???
  • Karmotrine - Cyan - Karmotrine is the tasteless alcohol factor, which determines alcohol content. Drinks without Karmotrine are non-alcoholic.

Techniques

Mixing - To mix a drink mix it for a short period of time. Most drinks are mixed.

Blending - To blend a drink mix it untill it shakes a lot.

Ice - If a client wants a cool drink they usually mean they want one with Ice. If a drink is served "On the Rocks" it means with ice. Ice is hard to get out of your mixning machine.

Age - I'm unsure of what this refers to. Since drinks are made on the spot, they can not be old. Possibly related to the timing of shaking or the age of the ingredients?
Drink Properties and Histories
Drink Properties

There are more properties then these, but these are the primary ones.

  • Girly - Drinks for feminine clients. These tend to be Sweet and are often a safe bet.
  • Manly - Drinks for masuline clients. These tend to be disgusting or spicy.
  • Classic - Classic drinks. These drinks tend to be older style.
  • Classy - Not to be confused with Classic. Monied clients will tend to prefer these.
  • Promo Drinks - Gimmick drinks. These drinks exist for odd reasons such as movie pomotions. These are usually disgusting.

Drink List

Drinks with lore outside of their menu description will be hidden with a spoiler tag. I recommend avoiding spoilers until after your first play through. There are some very light spoilers for Read Only Memories as well. To view a spoilered section, hover your mouse over it.

You get a cut of each sale you make and tips, so always select the most expensive drink that makes the customer happiest. If you can't do both, make the customer happy first.

"Hassy Infinity

So it's just purely carbohydrates? Otherwise they know how to put pure kcal into drinks, lol.

Flannergide sounds like "aldehyde" to me.

@Nisa, any sources? So far I've onky found a game journalist who wrote this sentence, but are there any mentions in the game or by the devs?

According to some game journalist,
(Link - https://www.rpgsite.net/preview/4035-va-11-hall-a-impressions)
"There are five different ingredients you can mix together: Adelhyde (a sweet flavor); Bronson Extract (a bold taste); Powdered Delta (a former rat poison); Flanergide (a spicy kick); and Karmotrine (which basically makes any drink alcoholic)."
The fanwiki says that the adelhydes make the drinks sweeter.

@Painted Bird,
Karmotrine IS a synthetic alcohol. It's just its much better than regular alcohol (ethanol, to be exact) that it only makes you drunk and doesn't really kill you.

there is 1 drink missing: Flaming Moai )
DAMN KIDS 3 Sep, 2019 @ 11:06am
I thought Karmotrine added the alcoholic element to the drink
NisaNisaNii 19 Jan, 2017 @ 4:09pm
Powdered Delta used to be a type of Rat Poison and Karmotrine adds the spicy elements to the drink.

You should add the background for the Bloom Light that Jill explains to Betty and Deal: "Seems it was first developed at some video games event. The creator said something about making the attendees feel like their customers do. Said attendees were, of course, part of some big games company. Seems that company always used too much bloom lighting, so the bartender there literally made them drink all the bloom."

@amarant42 Yah i dontknow how to get Absinth either, but i have gotten almost everything else...If i had to guess maybe you serve Ingram or Jamie something different than their normal orders. And it hit me right as i was typing this, Serve "Vella" something different,or maybe Norma? I doubt it's Norma though...
