Starting the game
There are 3 game modes you can choose from upon starting a new game file:

Adventure Mode: the normal way of playing the game: infinite lives and no restrictions preventing you from exploring the galaxy.

Rage Quit Rex: a challenge mode with only 3 lives to beat the entire game. The game mode has achievements for beating it for a reason and you should not start with this.

Speed Run: a special game mode to challenge yourself and others by beating every level in the entire game as fast as you possibly can. Parts of the game have been taken off for this game mode so it's not recommended to start with this game mode either.

Even though every game mode has an option for Easy and Normal difficulties, I recommend you to play on normal (unless told otherwise) if you please to get all the achievements.
Movement and controls
Besides the 4 basic directions you can move with, there are also 3 different special moves you can perform.

Dash lets you do a horizontal dash that allows you to move faster and kill certain enemies. Do keep in mind that doing a dash also sends a projectile backwards, the opposite way you are going. This can be used to activate switches, collecting rings and to kill enemies.

Flip lets you do a spin attack in the air which can be used to killing almost any enemy and also for destroying certain blocks preventing you from proceeding further in the level.

Jump is an alternative way of gaining height besides using your rockets. Jumping may not seem that useful but comes in handy especially when you need make a tight jump over a single block. I'll mention about this again when needed.

I recommend having dash cancel on from your settings so that you can cancel your dash before it actually finishes. There are many spots in the game where you might need to do a short dash while doing a full dash would only result into your death.

Best way of learning to control your character is by playing the game more and more. The game will gradually become harder and harder but also teaches you little tricks to make your movement better. I know the controls might feel a bit weird at first but you will get used to them pretty quickly.
Level basics
Note that there’s an achievement for collecting every coin in every level. Don’t leave any behind if you want to get this one. To make the guide shorter, I won’t be telling you to collect the coins that you come across while normally playing the level. I assume you will be collecting these without me telling you to.

Some levels have a hidden bonus stage within them that usually gives you the chance of getting extra money. Coins in the bonus levels DO NOT count towards the OCDinosaur achievement nor does dying in them prevent you from getting the no death star. Though some bonus levels contain hidden treasure, I will tell you in the guide which bonus levels have treasure and which not. A thing to notice is that you can try bonus levels only once. If you happen to die in a bonus stage, you will be teleported back to the normal level and you need to restart the level to be able to enter the bonus stage again.

It is pretty likely you will not beat the level under the goal time if you’re collecting all the coins. You should not focus on too many things at once. First take your time to learn the level and then try going for no death and goal time.

After you have collected all the coins in the level you are in, a small golden text saying “Got em all!” should pop upon collecting the last coin. Afterwards there will be a golden frame on the level’s info box when you’re on the world map hovering on that planet/level.

At the bottom of the box there’s a text telling you about hidden treasure on that level.
  • Treasure detected means that there’s treasure you still haven’t found
  • No treasure detected means there’s no hidden treasure at all
  • All treasure collected means you have found the hidden treasure but there’s something else you’re missing
  • An additional text “100% complete” will appear after you have done everything in the level (Excluding Dinonaut Base and the final level)

There are 3 stars to collect in each level which you can get for

  • Beating the level
  • Beating the level without dying
  • Beating the level under the goal time

The box will also tell you your best time on that level and your global ranking with that specific time but also, like mentioned before, if there’s still treasure to be found.

The box will also tell you your best time on that level and your global ranking with that specific time but also, like mentioned before, if there’s still treasure to be found.

Dinonaut Base
You will first start from Dinonaut Base where all the treasure you find on your journey will be delivered. To proceed, go to your right and hit the switch with a blue light to open the door. Before you enter your spaceship take a look above you. There’s a path of coins leading on to the roof of the base where you will find your first treasure box.

Dino Boot Camp
You can now start your first actual level. While hovering on the planet in the world map, you should see a small info box telling you the level name and such. There are 3 stars to collect in each level which you can get for

  • Beating the level
  • Beating the level without dying
  • Beating the level under the goal time

The box will also tell you your best time on that level and your global ranking with that specific time but also, like mentioned before, if there’s still treasure to be found.

Another new thing the level introduces you to is rings. You have to collect every ring by either touching them, going through them or shooting a projectile while dashing in to the middle of the ring. Collecting rings with dash projectiles can be quite challenging at first so it’s nothing you should be too concerned about.

After getting your second ring, there are coins to your right forming a TreeFortress Games logo. To the left of the logo there are differently colored blocks you can go through. These fake blocks are used a lot for hiding secrets and there are multiple type of fake blocks.

Get the coins and keep collecting the rest of stuff normally. Until you have all the rings.

Just before the finish line, there’s a gap in the ceiling. Go through the gap.

After hovering upwards you will see enemies to your left and a treasure with coins to your right. There’s fake blocks again that you can simply go through to collect what’s behind the wall.

Remember to collect the coins behind the 2 enemies too which you can kill by flipping at them. Notice that these enemies have a laser shield so you can’t dash at them or you will die yourself. You don’t need to enter the bonus level as there’s only money there. You should now have all the coins on the stage. If you died or took too much time, don’t worry. Finish the level and play it again or come back to it later.
Flow Rider
At the beginning of the level there is a bunch of coins to the left. Collect these and then go back to your right.

After going to your right for a while you will come to a wall with a gap. Notice that the robot enemies in this level are different from the ones you faces earlier. These have no laser shield protecting them so you can also kill them by dashing.

Go through the gap and collect the coins. Again, you don’t need to enter the bonus stage.

Fresh Meat
At the third ring which is located in between 2 laser beams there’s another fake block right above where the ring is. Go through the block and follow the corridors to find the hidden treasure.

Go back and finish the level. No need for doing the bonus stage.
Snow Blind
The level has no hidden treasure or hidden coins. There’s a hidden ruby you can collect for money in the upmost middle part of the level. Simply hover through the fake blocks above the checkpoint. The ruby does not count as a coin for the level.

P1ng
Is one of the levels you might need to use death abuse to achieve the goal time. Death abuse means you die intentionally to make yourself actually go faster. Each time you die, the level timer stops until the moment you respawn and move again. If you get killed by a lased, don’t panic but instead wait for a good laser cycle to that you don’t die immediately again.

Or alternatively you can try collecting the ring on the other side of the lasers with the projectiles you shoot while dashing.

After you have all the rings, cross the finish line but don’t step on the platform to finish the level. There are 2 fake blocks you need to go through to collect the remaining coins and treasure.

One above you.

And one below. Make sure you get the treasure too.

Blue Steel
Play the level normally until the very end. If you still haven’t died are if you are still able to beat the goal time, you should finish the level and try the bonus stage later as there’s a high change of you dying here.

When you’re at the finish line, you should see a flashing blue sign showing some arrows and skull. It’s pointing you towards the bonus stage. Watch out to not hover up too fast as there’s a ceiling that might kill you as well as 2 robots with laser shields. Carefully approach the enemies and kill them by flipping in the air.

Return to the small cliff on the right, jump once (don’t hover, jump as jumping will give you the perfect height) and when you’re at the peak of your jump, dash once. You need to dash cancel the end of your dash by simply pressing down. I feel that this is the easiest way to reach the platform and you shouldn’t have too much problem doing so.

Once you get to the bonus stage take all the time you need and don’t try to rush it. If you die, you will be teleported out and the bonus stage will be locked until you restart the level. Carefully watch when the lasers go on and off and make your way past them hitting the switches needed until you come to the section shown in the following picture.

There’s a laser right after the 2 electric blocks. Wait for the laser to go out and do the jump + dash combo again to gain just the right height you need. Now either touch the last switch or hit it with your projectile to collect the hidden treasure.

Scrollway
Scrollway
Is a level you might need to use death abuse again as it’s quite challenging to collect every coin in the level without dying once. It’s one of the few auto-scrolling levels in the game so it’s easy to miss coins due to tight timings. Worry not, even if you die you don’t have to collect the coins again that you already got, and by dying you are actually thrown back in the level. So if you miss a coin, simply kill yourself with any of the deathly objects in the game and try doing that part again.

There’s a secret area with series of fake blocks contain a decent amount of coins. You can access the area after getting the 8th ring in the stage.

After collecting the last ring, you should have all the coins on the level.
Treefortress
After the 12th ring you will find a checkpoint where the terrain changes from bushes to ice. Go downwards from the gap to find some coins.

Keep going downwards and go to the left around the bottom of the level. You will eventually find even more coins.

After you have gotten the coins start going back to your right where you came from but instead of going back through the gap, go as far right as you can. It will seem like you hit the end of the level but you can actually go to the right outside of the level. After you’re not visible anymore start hovering up until you reach the top of the ice. Now simply follow the rooftops to find the hidden treasure.

Now you can go back the way you came from and finish the rest of the level.
The Jam
The level is pretty straight forward and there are no hidden coins. You just need to remember to collect the coins from the both sides of the level when they give you 2 routes to choose from.

Before the 12th ring you will see a black Patroller going up and down. Above the Patroller there are fake blocks forming a path you can go through leading you to the hidden treasure.

Yeti White
Before you go through the gates into the boss fight, hover to the roof to find some coins.

After you’re done collecting the coins, keep going right. It will look like you come to a dead end but you can actually go over the icy wall.

After you have hovered over the wall, you should find some coins below you.

You can make your way back either the way you came from or go around the level from the bottom. Continue normally past the gates you saw at the beginning of the level and start the boss fight.

The boss has 3 different attacks:

  • Spitting ice balls which is always the first attack the Yeti will do. Be careful as the icicles in the ceiling will start falling each the the Yeti spits out the ice balls.

  • Slam where the Yeti will slap his hand into the ground which will also cause the icicles to fall down.

  • The spike traps during which spiked pillars will come out of the ceiling and the ground. There’s always a random safe spot you can survive in. Right before this happens, there’s a visual cue of a huge red button appearing over the Yeti’s head.

Easiest way to deal damage is while the Yeti is spitting out the ice balls. You want always be hovering around the middle of the arena in mid-air. Right as the ice balls are about to touch you, do a flip attack which will send the ice balls back at the Yeti. If they hit his face, they will deal damage for about a third of his health. You are required to do this if you want to beat the level under the goal time for the golden star.

Another ways of dealing damage are doing flip attacks near the Yeti and shooting projectiles at him while boosting. I don’t recommend doing either as they will most likely get you killed and your damage is not going to be very high.

Beating the boss especially without dying may take you a few tries. Learning the attacks and different patterns makes the job a lot easier.

After you manage to beat the boss and cross the finish line, don’t step on the end platform just yet. In the upper right corner of the goal room there are fake block you can go through. Behind them is a hidden treasure.

Hedge Hurdle
No secrets in this stage. The one thing you may struggle with is beating the level under the goal time. For this you need to use your projectiles to collect some rings. There are blocks made of spiked vines that will instantly kill you if you touch them so going through the small gaps is slow and unreliable. Instead you need shoot projectiles by dashing from the gaps and collect majority of the rings this way. If this proves to be too difficult for you, you can skip getting the star for now and come back later.

Frantic Forest
Before you get to the 12th ring you will see a familiar sign guiding you to the bonus level. Go to the direction it’s pointing but be careful as the corridors ahead are filled with enemies.

Once you make it the bonus stage, there are 3 switches you need to hit within a 30 second time limit. There’s one switch in every corner of the stage (Upper left, upper right, and bottom right). The room also has dozens of enemies that will come chasing after you. The enemies are quite so instead of trying to desperately fight against all of them, you should try dashing away from them so they have no time to catch you.

From the start, go upwards to the upper left switch, quickly dash your way to the upper right switch while hugging the ceiling. From here drop directly down and you will fall right onto the last switch. After getting the switch activated dash your way as far left as you can go to find the hidden treasure.

Crystal Caves
No secret coins or hidden treasure. There’s a bonus stage behind some fake blocks in the upper left corner after you have crossed the goal line.

Snow Drifts
Another pretty straight forward level with no hidden stuff. There’s a bonus stage you can enter through the small gap in the same room with the 11th ring and a cannon shooting snowballs.
Frost Tree
Is a very small level you climb upwards with icicles falling onto you. The way the icicles fall is always determined by the way you move so you should try to remember a safe route to get all the way to the top without getting hit. At the top there’s also a bonus stage with hidden treasure. If you’re having trouble beating the level without dying, watch the video and follow the movement. This way the icicles should never be able to hit you.

Once you’re in the bonus level, you will notice that it’s another auto-scroller with more icicles falling onto you. Try staying as low as possible so that you have more time react and move away from the way of the falling icicles but be careful not to go too low as it will also cause you to die and teleport you out from the bonus stage. At the top there is hidden treasure waiting.

Intruder
Play the level normally until you have crossed the finish line. At the right wall there are some fake blocks you can go through to collect the remaining coins.

Power Core
Is a level that requires you to go back and forth while activating numerous switches. After you’re done and have collected the final ring the door blocking the goal line will open. Don’t cross the line just yet. On the other side you will see a switch that you have to activate with your projectiles. After activating the switch a door near the beginning of the level will open. Behind the door is hidden treasure and you have 10 seconds to reach it. Easiest way to do this is by killing yourself with lasers right after activating the switch. Doing so will teleport you to the beginning, much closer to the hidden treasure.
Cold Front
Right at the beginning of the level, in the bottom left corner there are fake blocks forming a path. There’s a hidden treasure at the end.

In order to beat the goal time you need to death abuse again. Once you start going right you will end up in a dead end. On your way there is a checkpoint but do not activate it. When you reach the dead end and activate the switch, simply get yourself killed with the spikes. The timer will stop and you will be teleported back to the beginning. You’re now able to proceed the path of the left. Soon after you will reach a checkpoint which you want to activate this time. Again, start going right until you reach another dead end with a switch. Do the same as last time but instead of activating a switch, get the final ring. You will be teleported to the checkpoint. The goal is to your upper left and you should be very well below the goal time.

If you want to collect some more cash there’s a fake block path at the second dead end. Below the level there’s a ruby floating there. Remember that this doesn’t count towards getting all the coins in a level.

Corridors
As the name of the level tells you, you will going through a series of corridors. Continue playing until you reach the corridor with red blocks. Before continuing onwards go back through the door you came from. You will find a secret room with hidden treasure.

Brain Freeze
Is another level where the game gives you multiple route options to choose from. Both sides of the level are identical so be extra careful to collect coins from both sides each time your route splits into 2.

Below the first checkpoint is an entrance for a bonus stage. There’s only coins and a ruby in there.
Ravaged Ruins
The level is a mazelike ruins with a lot of rugged looking stone blocks you can break with your attacks. There are numerous smaller rooms with bunches of coins. Make sure to get them all.
A small difference to notice is that on the left side of the level there’s a room with 2 spears on the wall. In the ceiling there’s a rugged stone block you can break to go outside of the walls.

At the very top there’s a hidden ruby.

At the right end of the level there’s a path blocked by the breakable stone blocks. Follow the corridors for to find a hidden treasure.

PH4N-TSM 1.0
Before entering the boss fight go to the roof near the small gap. In the gap there’s a fake block you can go through. Behind it you will find a hidden treasure.

Go back through the fake block and keep going right. There are 4 coins in the small recess. After getting the coins you can go and start the boss fight.

Easiest way to defeat this boss is by standing on the ground right in front of it. The boss is only moving vertically (for now) so after you’re in position it’s impossible to get hit unless you move to the sides. The boss should come down next to you and eventually lower its electric shield.

Once the shield is gone, you need to jump and start spamming your flip attack. The boss will start bouncing around a little but you should still be able to get around 5 hits on it which equals for about half of its health (it is possible to kill the boss in one go but might be a little difficult). The boss will return to its original position and raise it shields again. Take the same position again and do over what you just did. The boss should now be dead and you can claim the stars and a custom head for Rex as a reward for getting all the 3 stars in the level.

Remember to collect the remaining coins that are located in the small gap after the goal line.

Overgrowth
Is a circular level that requires you to go around it twice to get all the rings. The level also has a ton of secrets and I will be explaining their locations if you start the level by going clockwise.
The first secret area is right after the 2nd ring. There are fake blocks just above the spiked vines. Besides some coins there is a bonus stage with money and a ruby in it. You can skip the bonus stage if you want to.

Second secret area is above the 6th ring behind a fake block. There’s only a ruby at the end which you don’t necessarily have to get.

Third secret area is below the 9th ring. Go through the gap and you should find a portal to another bonus stage.

In the bonus stage you have to race against a timed switch through corridors covered with spiked vines. The timing on the switch is pretty tight so you might have to try the stage a few times before getting the hidden treasure.

After crossing the finish line, there’s a rugged stone block. In the corridors behind the block is a medallion worth 250.

Cavern Crumble
Soon after getting the 2nd ring you have to go through 3 walls of crumbled blocks of rock. You should now be at a spiked block enemy that starts charging up and down when you’re near it. If you wait for it to go up and drop into the hole it left, you can go around from the bottom of the level and find a bonus stage. There’s only money in there.

In the small room with the 5th ring there’s another one of the spiked block enemies. There are fake blocks in the upper hole it goes into. Time your into the hole while the enemy is going down and once you are in the hole, go through the right wall. Keep going right to find the hidden treasure.

Shiprexed
The level mainly consists of small platforms creating numerous small separate spaces and gaps. There are many bunches of coins all around the map but none of them are actually hidden. Systematically go through the stage and don’t leave until you see the “Got em all!” text pop up for collecting all the coins.

In the bottom left corner of the map there’s a hidden treasure. Be careful not to get killed by the turrets.

On the right edge of the map there’s a ruby worth 1,000.

Zoom Room
Has 6 different rooms with all of them rings inside. Use your minimap to figure out in which of them you have already been.

When you start the level there are 3 doors on your both sides and one below you. The one below you leads to the goal of the level. Though if you go right back from the same door it will take you to a room with hidden treasure instead of the lobby you just left.

Switchback
Right at the beginning of the level there are fake blocks to your left. Go through them and go to the top of the level. There are some coins along with a medallion.

Go back and finish the level as you would normally.
Aztec Ascent
This must be one of the longest levels in the entire game. To make things worse, there’s a bonus stage at the end and it’s one of the hardest bonus levels in the game.

Before you go into the structure in front of you, take a look on to the roof. There are 4 coins but nothing beyond them so just head into the ruins. Make sure to explore every corner to not miss any coins.

When you arrive at the 4th ring, take a look at the wall on the right. There’s a path of fake blocks leading you to a bunch of coins and a hidden treasure.

Continue playing the level normally collecting all the coins and rings until you arrive at the sign pointing at the bonus stage. The bonus stage can be really frustrating so I recommend you watch the video to avoid nasty surprises so that you don’t have to restart the level too many times. Easiest way to get through the small gaps is by boosting. It’s really important you have boost cancel enabled from your options.

Jungle Jump
Without a doubt one of the most frustrating levels in the entire game. The whole level is a mess with rings and coins scattered all around with flowers shooting multiple fireballs in the air. There’s no easy way to the level, though important thing to know is that you can actually distinguish the fireballs with your projectiles and also by doing a flip attack at them. You will die numerous times, just focus on getting one star at a time.

The bonus stage is located in the upper right corner of the level and has a hidden treasure in it.

The bonus stage too has the same annoying flowers shooting fireballs at you. Even though there is a clear pattern, getting past them is quite difficult. Whatever you do, don’t panic as that for sure will get you killed as will going too close to the ceiling too. There are spears coming out from the ceiling so watch out for those. If you’re about to get hit, just perform a flip attack as that might save your precious life. Once you get to the right end of the room step on the ledge right next to the gap you need to go through. Start spamming your flip attack while trying to jump into the gap. Whatever you do, don’t stop spamming as it’s almost impossible to get through otherwise.

No secret coins in this level, just a ruby outside the walls you can get through via fake block after crossing the finish line.

Icebox
No secrets, no hidden treasure, just plain platforming and avoiding getting hit.
Master Zapster
Again, no secrets or hidden treasure, just platforming. There are laser shooting cannons trying to kill you making the task a little harsh. You can use your flip attack for getting rid of the laser beams as you could do with the fireballs earlier.
Straight N Arrow
The level has to parts. First room turrets shooting arrows from the floor and the second one shooting arrows from the ceiling. Each room has 9 rings and a bunch of coins. After the 2nd room there is a door that will return you to the beginning of the level. If you happen to miss something, don’t get greedy. You can go through the door as many times as you please until you manage to collect everything among the arrows.
Tower of Power
Another stage with pretty tight gaps you need to platform yourself through. Again, I recommend using dash a lot while having dash cancel enabled from your settings.

After the 11th ring you will reach a checkpoint. Above the checkpoint is a path that leads you to the bonus stage with hidden treasure.

The bonus stage has really narrow paths that require you to dash through so it’s really important you have dash cancel enabled at this point. The stage itself is not long and there are a few spots that give you a little more space to breathe. Like always, don’t panic and let dashing do the work for you.

After you cross thegoal line, don’t finish the level yet. On the right wall of the goal room there are fake blocks with a lot of coins still to collect. You will first find only 8 coins but beneath them is loads more coins all the way to the bottom end of the level. You should eventually find a medallion worth 250. After you have the coins and the medallion, head to your left. There’s a lone coin near the bottom left corner. After getting that coin you should be ready to leave.

Seedmour
Before you go down the pit in front of you, hover over the wall in front of you instead. Behind it you will find quite a lot of coins all pretty near to each other. After you get the coins go down the pit you saw earlier and start the boss fight.

You will be fighting big flying plant-looking enemy which has 3 different attacks:

  • Sending 2 circling green leaves into the air
  • Sending 8 spikes
  • Blowing out yellow goo balls from its mouth

There will also be smaller enemies spawning randomly

At the beginning of the fight Seedmour will take off and make 2 big green leaves that start circling around him. You want to fly into the air with Seedmour so that you are about at the height of his forehead. You need to perform a flip attack on one of the green leaves and send it flying towards Seedmour’s propeller. This will cause Seedmour to fall down and stun for a brief moment. During Seedmour’s downtime do a ground pound on his head and start spamming your flip attack on the red thing. Do this as long as you are able to after which Seedmour will start flying again. Seedmour’s leaves should respawn so that you can send another one into his propeller to stun him again. Now finish the job.

Globbed Up
Keep collecting rings and coins until you arrive at a purple enemy shooting homing balls at you. Once you kill the enemy, a door next to you will open and behind it will be a wall you can go over but don’t do that just yet. Go down and collect the coins from the smaller rooms after you have hit the switches to open. Now you can proceed going over the wall and going through the warp door to find some coins.

If you’re doing the time challenge, the fastest way of beating the level is by going over the wall and using the warp door after you have killed the purple enemy. There are no rings down the pit so there’s no reason to go down there if you’re not trying to collect all the coins.
Green Machine
No secrets or hidden treasure. The level is mostly about avoiding getting hit. The fire spamming enemies in the level can be rather annoying as they cannot be killed. What you can do is temporarily stun them with your projectiles but it only works for a brief second. Most reliable way is to move fast out of their way so they have no time to kill you.
Doubelisk
There’s a fake block right above the 2nd ring. There will be a path with a lot more fake blocks on the way. You will eventually come to a hidden treasure. Go through the door which will take you to the beginning of the level.

Yet one more level giving you multiple route options to choose from, though this time you way of backtracking is blocked as the warp doors close behind you after going through one. Eventually you will come across a door that’s located in a pit in the middle of the level. That door will allow you to go back to the beginning of the level. Remember which side of the level you did first and now do the other side. After you arrive to the familiar door again, go up and choose whichever side you please. At the top there will be a door but don’t go through it before you have gotten the coins from the other side of the level as this time there’s no coming back.
Rewinder
A mazy level formed almost completely of lethal spiked blocks. The level may look like there’s very little room to breathe but actually there are spots you can rest your nerves at. Again, your dash ability is a friend and not a foe. There are long corridors that really easy to go through by dashing with almost no chance of dying.

As you may already have noticed, the level is a very long dead end. Near the dead end there’s a hidden block leading outside of the level. Easiest way of getting through is by dashing. There’s not much room for error so you may have to try a few times before you get through. After you do get through, go downwards and find another fake block in the floor. Go around to the left side and find one more fake block in the wall near the hidden treasure.

There’s not too much extra time to spare for you to achieve the goal time gold star. The video will show route with the least amount of backtracking. Do notice that on the video, a lot of the switches are hit with the projectiles from the dashing and it’s important that you hit the switches as you go.

Death by Fire
Nothing special to the level. You need to go from side to side while activating switches to open doors. Remember that you can always destroy enemy projectiles with your flip attack.
Intruder Mark 2
Before you enter the room with the rings, there’s a fake block in the ceiling. There you will find a hidden treasure behind 3 walls of slimy goop. A well timed dash attack will get you through alive.

When you are collecting all the coins from the level, notice that there’s a hidden block in the floor in the room with all the rings. There are more coins down there.

Viral Vertigo
No secrets or hidden treasure. Again, to make the level easier you can use your flip attack to destroy enemy projectiles or to even killing the enemies if you want to.
Infection
All the coins are on your way when normally beating the level.

There is a fake block in the wall below the goal like. Go through the block to the right and then up.
You will find the last hidden treasure on a ledge.

Big Globowski
There is 1 bunch of coins on the roof and 2 bunches below the level.

The actual boss fight can be quite challenging if you don’t know what you’re doing especially when you’re trying to get all the challenge stars.

The boss has 3 tentacle like appendages with face that shoot randomly flying goo balls at you. You should also notice that occasionally the boss will also fire a beam of laser at you which is really hard to dodge.

To progress in the fight you need to kill all 3 appendages with your dash projectiles but be careful, if you take too much time, the appendages will recreate themselves and you have to destroy them again. Easiest way to kill them is to stand on them and spam dash attack against the enemy itself. Touching the enemy itself will not get you killed and the goo balls flying in the air will rarely be able to touch you. The only thing you need to worry about are the laser beams your enemy is shooting at you.

After you’re done with the appendages, the pile of goop will open its stomach revealing the innards which you’re now able to destroy with your flip attack. This will activate the phase 2 of the fight.

A cutscene with monologue will appear after which the other dinosaur will try to kill you. To beat them you have to use your projectiles again which can be really demanding in midair. Easiest way is to choose one wall, spam dash against it and wait for your enemy to move into your projectiles. For example, choose the right wall, start dashing against it while holding up and right (this will maintain your height). Your opponent will going around the room shooting laser beams at you, but it will not be a problem. If you’re spamming dash fast enough, you will be able to destroy the enemy’s lasers before they can hit you and you can even kill your opponent well under the goal time.

The Asteroid
The asteroid is the final level of the game the game, you can finally try saving the dinokind from extinction. The level is a huge and dark maze with a lot of spiked walls that can easily get you killed. Each dead end has a ruby worth 1000 in the end, but only 1 way leads to the heart of the asteroid where you need to take the bomb to.

Notice: the more stars you have collected from the levels, the more time you will have. Also remember that jumping gives you height of little more than a block. This is really useful to get past certain parts of the level.

The video will show you the path you need to take and also an easy route out.

Once you get to the heart of the asteroid you have 2 options:
  • Go back to save your life
  • Do the ultimate sacrifice and blow up with the asteroid

Both will give a different achievement.
Speedrun Mode
Now is a good time to start learning how to beat the levels fast. Start a new save file and choose speedrun mode preferably on whichever difficulty you want to.

There are 2 achievements to this game mode:
  • Beat the game on speed run mode
  • Beat the speed run mode in under 90 minutes

90 minutes may not seem like much but is actually more than enough for you to beat the game. This time the only thing you need to worry about is beating the level. You don’t have to collect coins, worry about dying or anything like that. Just beat all the levels, that’s it.

If you feel uneasy about yourself you can go with easy, but choosing normal is great practice for getting the rest of the achievements for the game.
RageQuit Rex
RegeQuit Rex is said to be the ultimate game mode for the game. You have 3 lives to beat the entire game. There are 2 achievements for this game mode:
  • Beat RageQuit Rex
  • Beat RageQuit Rex without dying once

Yes, the game mode is as brutal as it sounds especially when it comes to getting the achievements. If you happen to die say during the last boss, the game does not forgive; you have to do it all over again.

Though there are some methods to make the task much easier (no, it still won’t be easy but easier):

Start the RageQuit Rex with easy difficulty so that you can take 2 hits instead of 1. Start playing the levels 1 by 1, and recall which of them were difficult for yourself. You can always exit the save file, start a new one and practice the levels as much as you like on a normal save file. When you feel like you can beat the level, come back to your RageQuit Rex save file to give it a go. An important thing to know is that when you happen to get hit (when playing on easy), you can exit the level and start it again. Doing so will not make you lose lives and re-entering the level will replenish the amount of hits you can take back to 2. Do remember that exiting the level from the start menu is not instant. Rex will be falling for about a second even after you hit “exit the level” button. Be extra sure you can’t get hit during this period of time especially if you’re hovering over a block that can kill you. If you happen to die during the exit level transition, you will lose a life.

Tl;dr:

  • Start 2 save files on easy (1 Adventure Mode, 1 RageQuit Rex)
  • Practice each level in Adventure Mode before trying it on RageQuit Rex
  • If you get hit during RageQuit Rex, exit and re-enter the level
Money Farming
Go to Scrollway in Area 1. After getting through the first set of lasers, go down through the gap and enter the bonus stage. Get enough coins for 4x multiplier before collecting the ruby on the other side of the room. After you get the ruby, restart the level and do the same thing over and over until you have enough money for whatever you need it.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Can be found here.

Again, to make the guide shorter, I’m going focus only on achievements you may have not achieved if you have followed this guide. If the achievement is not this list, please check one of the earlier segments of the guide.

Fat Stacks
By now you should have this achievement but if not, go to one of the bonusstages with a ruby (for example Fresh Meat).

3 Pointer
Go to Dinonaut Base and through the door on your left of where you spawn. Once you through, there will be a basketball arena on the left. Score 3 points by jumping and dashing into the ball.
The achievement is a reference to TreeFortress Games’s another title called HoloBall.

Target Practice
Go to the other side of the practice area in Dinonaut Base. There will be a blue holographic thing moving up and down. Start spamming your dash against the wall and try to make your projectiles hit the moving thing. Continue until you have over 100 points.

Stay Put
Go to the level called P1ng and stun the patroller (the black enemy) 3 times with your attack.

Speed P1ng
While you’re at P1ng, beat the level in under 10 seconds by collecting the rings with your projectiles.

Scrollcut
Use the shortcut at the end of the level Scrollway. Actually finishing the level shouldn't be required. To enter the shortcut, there's a fake block you need to go through. More info on the Scrollway section of the guide.

Thanks to Guddy for pointing out the achievement was missing from the guide.

Tyrannosaurus Wrecks
If you still don’t have the achievement, go the level called Power Core. Destroy the robots until you have the achievement.

Note: The robots will respawn once they’re outside of your screen so you don’t even need to exit the level to kill more.

Tryceratops
Go to a level where you can easily kill yourself like Straight N Arrow. Kill yourself 30 times.

No Jumper
Can be done pretty much on any level, just don’t use your jump. You can hover, dash and flip all you like.

Happy Family
Go to co-op mode, choose any save file and beat a level while playing with a friend. Unfortunately there is only a local co-op so you can’t do the achievement online. If you have a controller, you can always clear a level like Dino Bootcamp by yourself while controlling 2 characters at once.

Dribble
On PC, the achievement says you have to get a 5x bounce combo on the first boss while it actually means the second boss, PH4N-TSM 1.0. The video will show you how to get a combo going fairly easily.

Chunky
Kill Yeti, the first boss with using snow chunks. Watch out to not fire any projectiles at him. If you send the chunks at the Yeti’s face (by doing a flip attack at the chunks) it will take about 1/3 of the Yeti’s health per chunk.

Shopaholic
Spend 100 000 total in either one of the shops.

JumpJer Rekt
If you don’t have this achievement by the time you’re done with all 3 the game modes, you’re a god. Straight N Arrow is one of the fastest stages to kill yourself over and over.

Frontin’
Like said before, kill yourself with the spikes at the end of the dead ends in Cold Front.

Combonaut
Maintaining a 4x coin combo for over 30 seconds can be done pretty much in any bonus stage with a lot of money. Once you reach the 4x combo, slow you pace and wait roughly for a second before getting the next coin.

Beat the Game (Properly)
Escape from the asteroid after planting the bomb.

Rex In Peace
Blow up with the bomb inside the asteroid after planting it.

Skillshot
Go to the level called Power Core and instead of activating the switches by touching them, use your projectiles (dashing or jumping, doesn’t matter) to activate them.

Pompeii
The achievement says you have to cover a level with ash but that’s not the case. You just need to die many times enough by turning into ash. I’m not sure of the exact amount but Scrollway and Straight N Arrow are good levels for getting this one. Just remember not to restart the level after dying.

Master Fighter
Watch the videos for each boss (linked previously in the guide) for the easiest strats of getting all 3 stars on each boss.

RexBox
All the hidden treasure items are in the guide. If you’re missing one, check the guide for that specific level.

OCDinosaur
If you followed the guide, you should have this one too. All hidden coin locations are told for each level. You know you have collected every coin from a level if there are golden frames around the level name on the world map.

To remind you, coins in bonus stages do not count towards the achievement.

Snow Plow
Go to Snow Blind and find one of the turrets that are on the ground shooting upwards. Stand next to it and start doing your flip attack. Destroy the balls by flipping until you get the achievement. Watch out not to die when doing this or you have to start all over.

Spitfire
Go to Jungle Jump and find a flower spitting out the fireseeds. Hover over it and spin into the group of seeds before they have time to spread. Repeat until you get the achievement. It doesn’t matter how many times you die doing this.

Nothin’ Special
Go to Snow Blind, it’s a fairly easy one to beat under the goal time even with the restrictions the achievement gives you. Just remember not use drop (press down) even once during the level.

Turbosaur
Beat the game in Speedrun mode, no matter how slow you are.

Speed Master
If you didn’t beat speed run mode in under 90 minutes, go do so.

Headhunter
Buy 20 heads from the shop. The shop in the 1st area has cheaper heads ($10,000) than the shop in the 3rd area ($30,000).

Rainbow Rex
Buy 30 skin colors for Rex (10,000 each).

Shoe Shopping
Buy 20 differently colored boots for Rex (10,000).

Color Blast
Buy 30 differently colored jet streams for Rex (10,000).

Big Money
Spend total of 1,000,000 gold in any of the shops. You should get this one for getting all 4 of the other buying achievements. If you don’t have enough money, go farm some in Scrollway. You can get to the bonus level really quick. Get the 4x combo and then get the ruby. Getting all the coins is actually rather slow and not as efficient. Just get the 4x multiplier and then the ruby. You can instantly restart the level and do the same thing again. Repeat until you have enough money.

Dinonaut Master
Beat Adventure Mode on Normal, getting every star and hidden package, in under 3 hours. The achievement sounds a lot tougher than what it is. Use another save file to practice some of the levels before hand and learn where the hidden treasure are. 3 hours is more than plenty for the achievement. I’m fairly sure the game only tracks in-game time, which took me 45 minutes on the first try.

RageQuit Rex & Rage Master
Check the RageQuit Rex section for hints and tips.

Masteralladon
Master all the levels. Check the previous segments for level specific tips.

Better Together
Complete adventure mode in co-op. Unfortunately there is no online co-op so you need to have a controller to get this one or virtually emulate one.

I’m fairly sure just beating the Asteroid in co-op is enough for this achievement. If you’re feeling like it, you can try beating the Asteroid by yourself while controlling 2 characters at once. Bad ending should be fine too. This is not confirmed though.

Beating the Asteroid with bad ending is enough to unlock the achievement.

The videos were unlisted and for whatever reason YouTube had set them as Private without my permission. The videos should be visible again.

I'm guessing they updated the game and its achievements since this guide was last updated. Anyone knows what it takes to "master" a level? Can the first three levels be mastered (regarding the Masteralladon achievement)?

First of all: Great work, its an awesome guide.
Just one thing to mention: you missed out the "Scrollcut" achievment ("Use the shortcut for a photo finish in Scrollway"). Does anyone have an idea of how to get it?
Revalopod 6 Mar, 2017 @ 10:03pm
AND WTF! I let the bomb blow up on the asteroid level and guess what? I got the achivement: DInonaught Master. BUT I am playing on EASY mode, and have over 7 hours.....
I only wanted the rex in piece achievement :(
