Commitment Achievement Guide

A possible alternative that only actually needs to run the game for a very short duration. Does not require console.

Short and sweet.
1. Set the date to any Tuesday and the time to any time before midnight. I recommend 11:59:00 PM to give for some buffer time. Give yourself a few extra minutes if the game takes longer to load up.

2. Load up The Stanley Parable and let it run until the clock strikes midnight into Wednesday. The achievement should appear shortly after midnight.

3. Change the date and time to the correct values and continue on your day.

The game seems to really only check the shift from Tuesday to Wednesday based off my observations. I haven't checked anything internal to see if there is a timer/counter that actually requires the game to be running for a full 24 hours and requiring the day to be Tuesday. Tuesday is still a requirement for the achievement, the length of time is technically misleading.

It may be necessary to hibernate and boot up to change the date and time via BIOS. It didn't work for me, but did for OregoX. I will update this as more people include whether or not hibernate worked for them.

Just a little guide I whipped up in a few minutes. If anyone can prove me wrong, I will remove the guide with no offense taken. It worked for me and hopefully will for any and everyone else.

thanks OregoX, the bios procedure still works in 2021.

I'll explain how I did it in case anyone has any doubts:

-------------

1. I went to the Windows Date / Time settings, and set it to the date of last Monday, at 23:57

2. I opened the game, and loaded my save.

3. I left for Destktop (without closing the game, of course) and went with the HIBERNAR option.

4. When the computer turned off, I turned it on again and went to the BIOS.

5. I changed the schedule over there, and believe me, it is very simple. I advanced one day and set the time to 23:57 and saved it.

6. Turning on the pc again, I went back to the game, I waited for midnight, and after a few seconds the achievement appeared.

I don't wanna mess up the time on my computer, so what if i change the date to Tuesday at around 10:00 and then wait a bit, start the Stanley Parable and wait to strike midnight. Please someone do this to test it

Darn. Might have to do it the "correct" way then :/

it is probably not relevant, but that didn't work for me, and I have tried many times

@OregoX That's actually what I did initially and that didn't seem to work for me. Then again, for me to go into the BIOS to change the date/time, I have to plug a second keyboard in because the main one I use doesn't like to go into BIOS. So I tried what I stated above and that worked.

But with the hibernate and the boot system it worked. :)

Seems it doesn't workt on my PC. :/

@OregoX That is correct. It only needs to run from the Tuesday to Wednesday shift from what I've seen.

So I don't have to run the game in the shift from Monday to Tuesday?
