How to do it

Bring Forrest Byrnes with you to the top of your watchtower. Then walk around the outside of the top part and hug the railing and look at it. At some point in the middle of your screen appears text "put back".
and put him "back". Now he is stalking you through the whole experience of Firewatch in your window.
Good stuff.

If they make a movie, they should have forest Byrnes in the outhouse as a little gag

I wanted to repair the guitar, then play it. And hang it around Forest B's neck, (since his hands are in the correct position), and put my hat (BB Cap) on his head before turning in each night... I hope the developers make another game like this and let us go day by day, with sleep deprivation and need to eat and use toilets, camp out and put small fires out etc. - Like a life sim of a Forrest Fire Ranger.
