What Is Survivor Rank?
What Is Survivor Rank?

Survivor rank is a mark of your current skill level for example a level 20 would be seen as fairly new or in-experinced to most people, as where a level 1 would look god like. You will notcie ALOT of people are LEVEL 5+ but remain at Survivor rank 20 this is ether because they are not that skilled at the game or they are un-aware on how to rank themselves.

In order to actually rank yourself up you need to collect things called "Pips" or at least that's what I have named them, each rank requires a certain amount of pips in order to progress to a lower Survivor rank simple.
How Do I Get A Lower Rank?
How Do I Get A Lower Rank?

In order to achieve a lower rank you need 3 main things:

#1 Time, its not all about rushing to number 1 often rushing will just prolong the amount of time and effort needed to obtain your dream rank.

#2 Skill, seeing as the Survivor rank is based off the skills you show in game I would expect this to be a given.

#3 Team, ALOT of DBD (Dead By Daylight) is team based almost ALL aspects of it are aided by teams, they can be a curse or a god send, of course having a bunch of level 1's will not be helpful and will lower you so try to get with higher levels and ranks.

Time
Time

Time wise you need as much as possible you will destroy yourself if you constantly leave games mid way through, if you died however then you might as well leave your not benfiting by being there, you need to make sure that any IRL (In Real Life) distractions are sorted out before gaming, this is simply because if you need to go for dinner and you leave you loose out if your asked to tidy or to do work around the house you leave all of these are just examples of ways that can hinder your Survivor rank, so try to make sure you have spare time.

Also In game no need to rush about from place to place to speed run through the game, it will only get you killed, if you hear a heartbeat dont be a hero and tank the last bit just move off into a hiding place and wait it out, its going to avoid you loosing out because you can't wait 10 seconds for the killer to pass, as well as helping people on hooks you have no need to rush as long as they dont struggle and remain calm you can wait until the right moment to get them down.

Just remeber as long as you have no distractions you can take all the time you need.
Skill
Skill

Skill is something you can mainly gain from me and just apply it to your in game situations I have in my eyes a decent amount of experience and skill through out the amount of games I have played but you will end up finding what works best for you.

Skill wise I will share anything you need so feel free to ask some questions in the comments I will get through as many as possible.

TIPS:

Generators they are the biggest part to your escape and they require the most atention I have made a guide on how to hit EVERY skill check perfectly so you dont reveal your position or anyone in your teams.

Generator Guide:

Another way to perfect the skill of remaing hidden is try to remain slow and low, remaning slow is much better because when jumping over windows or entering RED boxes, you make close to no noise and you will not alert the killer of your location, remain low when you hear a heartbeat and try to find a corner or some tall grass this will help conceal you from the killer and if possible remove yourself from direct eye sight this is to ensure you are out of danger.

Chests are AMAZING they offer you ether a flashlight to blind the killer or maps to show the locations of major items you need and finally a medkit in case you have a run in with a killer.
they also offer ALOT of points in the survivor catagorey they will help you collect pips to rank up with.

Healing team, this is a standard you do NOT need a medkit to heal your team just simple walk up to a injured team member and hold M1 this will begin the healing phase, to prevent bleeding you need to heal them once, if they were on the floor when you found them they will require two to ensure a better chance of survival.

Basements they are of course a dangerous high risk area but the longer you spen in a basement the better you get extra points for staying down there and they ALWAYS have a chest in them so you get a item, some experience, and some experience from entering the basement for some period of time.

Escape Hatch if you are unlucky to be the last alive then you NEED to go for generators even if you need to get 5 it will be the most effective way because there is a low chance you will find the hatch before the killer so generators will keep him away for abit, but of course I will tell you where they spawn, they will be near or inside of the MAIN building they never spawn far away so dont bother straying far off to find it, just have a look around in the near areas. But ALWAYS go for generators because there is less chance of getting to the hatch before the killer.

Team
Team

This is the hardest part to control because you have little chances of being with a skilled team of low levels, you often would need to leave and re-join but that takes away time so its pointless just try to go with what you get it will benfit you.

Most of the time your team will try to help you if you get hooked ot attacked they will do it more for the skill points but they still help you, so just try and get them to be nice by helping them if they need it, of course you need to decide are you like me, where you do everything to help yourself unless your team offer to help you, or do you do it for your team? decided fast because its not a 50/50 option.

If you can help your team then do it will help but I only say help if they seem or have shown to be loyal and helpful to you as well or you would jsut be risking it for nothing in return.

Finally once you have that escape door open, RUN no waiting to help team even if you can save them all DONT you have 5k points for leaving alive that stack with all of your other points so just go.

Fact: I once had a team that helped me survive the hooks twice, I then opened the door saw that 2 were hooked and one was down i could have got the 2 of the hooks easy but i decided to run to get my points because going back into the warzone would mean me risking the pip I could ether make 1 or loose 1 and seeing as I already would make 1 pip i left them to die. (Not my issue)

Actually, I'd say stick around and spectate if you've been killed if you're a newbie. You can pick up on a few things that'll help contribute to building your skill ;)

If you meet a good killer it would be hard regardless, if it's a GOOD know killer...

@⎛⎝D3DGear⎠if you meet a good killer due to the recent updates its nearly impossible to win at all what you need is a bad killer who is slow AF or overall just easily tricked or stupid

@TakeMyChat No, you have no need for perks, its not vital for you to get rank 1, you can still get there without them.

Or though yes they help.

And skills can be classed much more the muscle memory, its being able to work with a team, communicate, think fast, map knowledge.
Lankijo 6 Aug, 2016 @ 9:10pm
its not skill :/ skill is muscle memory DBD has a main need for good perks and items PERKS AND ITEMS are what count strategy is what you mean people need to stop mixing skill up with strategy because you will need good timing and reflexes and a good strat for a lot but perks are the main need to winning

i could have got the 2 of the hooks easy but i decided to run because i pride myself in being a cowardly player and shit person, even in video games.

Fixed that for you!

Yeah, don't add it to the guide. I play mostly monster anyway... We don't want anyone to know.. Hush hush :p
O.G Business  [author] 24 Jun, 2016 @ 10:40am
@Jeyes93 yes! that's also a very good way but it does require you to rank up a little so I did not add it, because I thought many low levels was read :P

Or just play Jake Park with the sabouteur perks and start breaking hooks. 1k points each, then either find the exit or heal a few peeps / save from hooks :p
