Supporting F2Ps #2
By pacman9371
This guide is part 2 of my F2P supporting guide. Since the guide back then was so successful, I decided to make a second part to give an updated version on how the community views F2Ps. We will touch on G.E.W.P. and how you can't win at saving every Gibus from his/her own ignorance. Without further ado, grab yourself a Sandvich and some Bonk and let's get down to business!

Some Things Never Change
As long as the game is free to play, there will consistently be new clueless players heading towards the battlefield; the vicious cycle of a free game. As long as pros, veterans, and wealthy players exist, F2Ps will continue to be scolded for doing something improperly, making players like you and me feel somewhat bad for these unfortunates. Sometimes we become antagonized when these newcomers don't know what to do and their team relies on them to get the job done.

What to do: Too many people will simply suggest booting the player off the server. Either write in chat or use your microphone to try to advise them of their duties and make haste.

Anti-G.E.W.P. person: But he doesn't read the chat at all, nor is he reading or listening.
When it comes to this (most likely will happen at some point), sometimes you just have to sit back and watch the damage happen then take his place to do what he did wrong. If in MvM kicking the new guy is the only option. Sorry if this doesn't sound so paragon-like, but even new players and F2Ps should know some common sense in a game, such as getting money is a good thing and shouldn't be avoided. So call the kick something like a lesson.

Just look at that money! Use your head and figure out if it's good.
G.E.W.P./Anti-G.E.W.P. The Good, Bad, and WTF?
G.E.W.P. is a society bent on protecting F2P Engineers.
The good: This proves that the F2P life is just as valued as any other player and those who value it should get a pat on the back for caring. Plus, you help the Engineer, your team gets a sentry, dispenser and teleporter to help the team. Not a bad trade, eh?

The bad: There are people who will go a little over the line to do this.
As bad as sparing him and his buildings playing as the enemy. Please, don't do this.
Your mission is to prevent him from building his gadgets so your team won't have to. I understand if you feel bad for a new guy, but sometimes you have to teach them the hard way to be vigilant and smarter.
Don't let your hobby interfere with your job. Kill F2Ps on sight if they endanger you, your team, and your mission.
Same goes with anybody who endangers it, really.

Anti-G.E.W.P. is a hatred community bent on destroying F2P Engineers.
The good: What good can possibly come from this? I don't see any besides a few moments of laughter.
The bad: A waste of time just to target new players and a lack of important things to do.

The tension between G.E.W.P. and Anti-G.E.W.P. results to yet another pointless war. Can we all kindly teach some newbies the right way and play the game without all the riots?

Oh, and I note: You should be defending an Engineer while he builds anyway, F2P or not. If an association needs to be made just to defend an Engineer, I feel sorry for the unfortunates who don't know teamwork or value it to begin with. Which there seem to be a lot of, sadly.
Poor fellas...
Certain Servers and Pubs
Pubs (public servers) are loaded with new players. These are perfect places to see F2Ps do their business. Fight, heal, work together, like an ant farm with guns. The game is running smooth and both teams are doing great until this guy sits on the battlefield with a sandvich in hand. Since many F2Ps don't quite see the point or understand the concept of a friendly player, this poor Heavy is most likely going to be gunned down by everyone.
If you are this Heavy or like him, being friendly on pub servers isn't such a great idea, especially if you expect others to respect your harmlessness. Friendlies contribute nothing to their team and instead are being a free kill for all opposing members. Go on a friendly server like Lazy Purple's silly servers for it. Don't let a player slot go to waste by teasing F2Ps who will most likely kill you anyway.
(Not to sound evil, but killing friendly Heavies on a public server and seeing them rage in chat is actually pretty funny xD)
Hackusation Train!
Are you F2P? Are you good at shooting, aiming, and bashing skulls in? Do you possess a Gibus and Mercenary badge? If you answered yes to most of these questions, you've just gotten yourself onto the tracks of a hackusation train. Choo-choo!

What to do: If you and your teammates are being dominated by a good F2P Sniper or Ambassador Spy, don't board the train just yet.
You'd need to put his skills to the test or spectate him whenever you get the opportunity.

An effective way of spotting a cheater is to switch to Spy and cloak where you're certain to cross paths with the suspect, then sit in an unpredictable spot and wait. If he keeps looking right at you, his aim snaps or he just starts attacking you out of nowhere, you have found a true cheater. If he hasn't, he is clean... unless he's good at hiding it.

If you're a F2P and are being accused of cheating, simply ignore or deny it. They can't report you without crucial evidence, but if they do, you may always contact Steam Support and get things straight.

(Note: some abuse the rights to kick just because it hurts their ego and so they don't have to deal with the guilt and salt of being killed by somebody who seems to have much less experience than said F2P, how petty.)
Thank You, Guys!
That's the end of it. Sadly, it might not have been as effective as my first one, but things change and my guide needed an update, so I did. My first guide got me my friends and where I am now on Steam. I can't thank my friends enough for everything I've been given. Each and every one of you deserve more than I can give alone. Thank you for being here to read it. These guides take work to make, more than I have. Farewell and remember,
Make Saxton Hale proud!
Goodbye!

Do take warning, this guide is quite old. The environment of the community has shifted so much since then. But some advice here is still valid so I'm not going to delete it.
