Shivastan Winter, USSR, Central Asia

Description:

The winter version of the original Shivastan map, depicting a fictional central asian mountain valley, inspired by locations in Khorog, Tajikistan, and Serebryansk, Kazakhistan (both from former USSR). It was designed for a russian - soviet themed city, but it can be realistically used for middle eastern (Persia, Afghanistan, ecc), north-western indian (Pakistan) and Chinese (Xiinjan) themed cities.

If you have played the original map, you will notice great changes in resource placement, reduced and simplified field/fertile areas, and some minor changes to the heighmap and river power. I made these changes for cosmetic reasons.

I made this winter version for my personal use. The boreal/realistic version (link above) is nicer and more detailed, try it!

Decorative features:

- Hand sculpted mountains.
- Painted landscapes (not nearly as nice as the original) and various eyecandies.
- Many realistic small mountain streams.

Gameplay features:

- Enough flat land to build a decent sized city.
- Connections: 3 highways, 1 train, 1 water, 3 air.
- A good dam location (at the gate of the valley without external connections).
- Waterworks: canals may be used at the estuaries of the minor streams to gain space.
- Different expansion options, with different "rewards".
