How to get more FPS! (2016)

The best In game settings to increase your fps from 20-30 to 40-60

*Recommended for Nvidia 900 and 600 series or the AMD equivalent* (it does work 4 other card types but i can not test them!) *2017 UPDATE THIS IS OUT OF DATE*

Rust Launch options
When launching your game set the resolution to your native monitor size eg (1920x1080)

Then set the graphic quality to good or simple. There is no point of having it higher it looks the same.
In game config
GRAPHICS

Under the effects list in graphics turn everything off apart from SHARPEN

QUALITY

Graphics quality: 3

Water quality: 1

Max shadow lights: 1

Shader level: 200-400

Draw Distance: 2500

shadow cascades: No cascades

shadow Distance: 100 (4 nice sharp shadows)

Anisotropic Filtering : 1

Parallax mapping: 1

PERFORMANCE

Max Gibs : 0 (this is when buildings fall down u dont see the parts falling that lag the game)

Virtual texturing: off

Partical quality: 100

Object quality: 50

Tree quality: 50

Terrain quality: 100

grass quality: 100

Decor quality: 0

I did this but I put my max gibs to like 79 and my qualities down to 20 and on this one server that I had like 30fps now I have 50+ fps

i can still change it to 4 without much frame drop, then i'll increase it.
