Checking your Internet speeds
So, If you think about hosting you first need a decent internet connection, preferably over 20mbs upload this is too ensure a nice smooth running server, and too make sure you can keep as many people lag free as possible, these are myy speed test for an example when i ahve 2 full servers running and a 3rd half full, best place too check them is here : http://www.speedtest.net/

Port Forwarding
So now you know you have a good ebough connection on too the next thing port forwarding, you have too port forward three ports, What is port forwarding? you may ask well basically it allows the other players pc's connect to yours so you can host, More detailed explanation : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_forwarding

So you have too port forward 3 ports, these 3 :

27015 TCP/UDP
27016 TCP/UDP
33540 UDP.

So how do you port forward? firstly go Windows + R

that will bring up this tab

Type cmd in this tab

Click ok too open up the Command prompt, type ipconfig and hit Enter, search the list that comes up for your Ipv4 addres

save this number for later,
now that you know your ipv4 head to your routers interface, most will be web based, for instance mine is accessible when i type 192.168.1.1 into the search bar in my browser, it looks like this

sign in and head to advanced>nat>port forwarding, once their you will fill out the table like this :

as you can see this is for port number 27016, the only difference you will make when doing it for the others is replacing the 27015/33540 but when forwarding 33540 their is a drop down box

TCP/UDP
TCP
UDP

for 27016 and 27016 choose TCP/UDP
for 33540 chose UDP

make sure they are enabled and you are good too go
Setting it up in game
Now that you have tested your connection and forwarded your ports its time too now go and setup your server :), Launch the wreckfest application,

click the multiplayer tap at the top of the screen
you will see a little button 'create server'

click this

it will bring up a menu that allows you to configure your server in anyway you want so do this and click create server XD now your done it will bring you into your new Non dedicated NCG wreckfest server, have fun if you have any questions leave them in the comments if you taught this was helpful dont forget to

Thank you! I came to the guides specifically looking to see if there was one for setting up hosting a server. My router setup is obviously gonna be different from yours and I kind of winged it because the wording is different, but got it right the first try and my friend connected in real quick no problems.

Yo my dude I've port forwarded and also allowed the ports in the firewall (inbound) but my friend still gets 'Server not responding' and cannot join. Any idea?
