SKIP Intros / Disable Mouse Smoothing
By SamSerious
You can add a command line for DOOM, to skip intros or disable mouse smoothing.

All you need to do is right click on your DOOM game in your Steam library and go to properties. Then, from the general tab, select ‘set launch options’ and paste in whatever command line you’d like to use. You can also stack them together like this : +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +set m_smooth 0 . Just leave a space between them.

To skip the intro videos copy and paste : +com_skipIntroVideo 1
To turn off mouse smoothing it’s : +set m_smooth 0

Also you can use another command line to allow skipping of loading screens if you press a key. Copy and paste this : +com_skipKeyPressOnLoadScreens 1

This is all! thanks for reading!

TL,DR: Mouse aiming works just fine in this game. There's no smoothing by default, so you don't actually have to do this. If your aim is bad, it's really just your aim. :csgocross:

I don't think mouse smoothing isn't not on by default because suddenly i realized today that somehow the mouse is less responsive then it was this whole past week.

MOUSE SMOOTHING IS NOT ON BY DEFAULT

https://www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/4jclqa/there_is_no_mouse_acceleration_and_smoothing_is/

There are TWO commands. m_smooth (the smoothing FACTOR) and m_smoothing, which ENABLES mouse smoothing.

The DEFAULT value for m_smoothing is 0.

+set m_smooth 0 is doing nothing because m_smoothing is 0 (off) by default. m_smooth is the value of mouse smoothing

why the fuck was mouse smoothing on by default and not on option in the first place?
Has no one learned from HL2's options?

Guys, if you check m_smooth in the game console after applying this fix by typing "m_smooth" in, it resets the value back to default (1). Sort of like how typing "fov" in the console in TES or recent Fallout games resets the FOV back to default if you've done any modification to that. I know the game engines are completely different, but this is how this particular dev console works.

If you have done so, make sure to also delete any logs the game has made of any console commands you have entered in the Saved Games folder mentioned in the guide.

Also, seems like disabling intro videos for me disables the main menu music. Kind of a shame...

Also note that disabling the intro videos disables the loading icon in the top corner of your screen
