KF-Komplex [WIP]

Descrizione
This is a work-in-progress custom map I am currently working on. I will release updates as often as I can.
The map, v. 0.3, is fully playable, including:

- Zed spawns (and of course a boss spawn)
- Two working trader pods
- Ammunition and random item spawn
- 6 player spawns
- working pathing for zeds
- 2 custom sounds (2 environment sounds so far)

The map itself will gain size over time. Besides of that Ive added alot of assets, for now, only KF 2 meshes. In future I will add custom textures and custom assets as well as more custom sounds. This will probably work out pretty easy since Ive worked with Unreal Engine 3 in various other projects as a Modeler and Environment Artist. So stay tuned for updates!

I beg you to report any bugs and criticism you experience, I will try to fix everything as fast as I can.

- added precomputed visibility
- added 3 blocking volumes to stop zeds from jumping on pool tables and the platform in the generator room
- splited the hallway and added another room with pool tables
- turned down the volume of the custom environment sounds

Players can fall off the map and die in the corner wall to the left of the bar that's near the outside trader. I know this map is over 2 years old but thought I would point it out. Also you should have at the very least harrasser spawns in the courtyard. Otherwise everyone can camp in that courtyard and trash zeds at the door.

Yeah, ive noticed this doorway stucking, still searching for some kind of fix for that.
Thank you alot for this FPS analysis, I get what you mean, thats the spawn room your talking about. I have to figure out how to get better performance on the map overall. The thing is, that it doesnt realy make sense since in this specific part of the map, there are not more game assets or details then somewhere else.

I will search around the forums for a solution. Im also very new with the KF2 Editor, Im more common with the standard UDK editor, so I appologize for my missing experience.

also zeds would get stuck on the doorways. play through it a little and you should notice.

The rooms are kind of all non descript.
i know the last 1-2 zeds had a habbit of taking abnormally long to spawn, and then when you walked into the large room with the industrial machines they'd just spawn.

the room where i noticed random FPS drops i can describe as kinda having a square room, with a room inside with a few doors and a catwalk above. The GPU spikes were higher then all the tripwire maps and most custom maps which is only slight peaks between waves. yours had a tendancy to spike into the 90s and then down to 30s high 20s.(this is GPU usage not FPS) where as tripwire and other custom maps will be 40-60 ish +/-15 depending on map.

i wont critique the environment because it the maps isnt even half done yet.

My specs are

ASrock extreme 6 z87
i5-4670k@4.0ghz
HD7950 1100/1500
16 GB 2133
win7

Also i am running sweet fx, very basic tweak.

game is on ultra with no AA(obviously) and a few of the ugly effects set to off.

GL and i hope to see some improvements later on.

zeds get stuck alot. optimization in some rooms seemed off.
