@Linkblade Ha ha ha ha! I'm not surprised Bennett Foddy himself is recommending it! Although it's not quite as frustrating as Getting Over It.

Rain World is a masterclass in environmental storytelling. Where the world design itself tells you all you need to know about it's history and backstory. Much like Hyper Light Drifter, you are moving through the ruins of a once great civilization and are left to discover what happened by interpreting the few clues the game gives you.

Also, it's a realistic simulation of survival of the fittest... and you are not the predator species. You are a prey and many other animals are seeking to make you their dinner. This is where it can become frustrating. But if you enjoy these kinds of experiences (and since you referenced Bennett Foddy, I suspect you might be), then it can't be missed.

Definitely let me know what you think when you do play it. It's one of those games that's real close to my heart.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's in my library and I should definitely give Rain World a chance. Did you know that Rain World is recommended in the credits of Getting Over It by Bennett Foddy himself? :) hahah, that means, that it gets really punishing. Good thing is that I can take a punch in the gut :P I'll let you know what my experience with it is :)

@Linkblade No doubt. It's a once in a decade game. What a masterpiece. If you like this kind of world building, have you given Rain World a try? It's VERY punishing, but also one of the most rewarding games I've ever played.
