It's basically a normalish 7drl but the twist is that you skate. In turn-based this basically means that you have a current direction (indicated by arrow) and a speed. If you go in a direction too different to your current one you lose speed. When you hit an enemy your current speed increases damage. Some of the enemies "skate" too. As far as I remember it's something like 45 degree turn loses you a small bit of speed (you were going N last turn and you go NW now say) and going 90 degrees loses you nearly all your speed (you were going N last turn and now go E say).
