Empire Theatres was a chain of Canadian movie theatres owned and operated by Empire Company Limited. Prior to its closure, the chain had 50 locations spread across Canada. The company closed its doors for the last time in October 2013 after being sold to Cineplex Entertainment and Landmark Cinemas, so that the company could focus solely on its retail and real estate operations.
