Oh, I'm terrible at the game, was just playing dress-up for these final (?) Dark Souls screenshots... :) Just keep trying every time you die, don't give up and you can get through anything eventually... :)

Oh, that's the "Crown of the Great Lord" i.e. the armour Gwyn wears. You can buy it in NG+ from umm, what's his name, Domhnall.

The red glowing thing is from wearing the Calamity Ring you get by defeating Kalameet. Just looks spooky, no reason ever to wear it... :)
