Beschreibung

In 1920 the coal transport ship, USS Jupiter was fitted with a flight deck and became the United States first Aircraft Carrier, renamed USS Langley CV-1. The main goal of the ships conversion was to experiment with aviation at sea.

An odd feature of the initial ship design was the inclusion of a carrier pigeon coop on the stern of the ship. This would later be converted to officers quarters when the pigeon testing failed. The Langley was featured in a silent film, "The Flying Fleet" in 1929. During the 1930s she was reconstructed again, into a Seaplane Tender, keeping the name but changing the hull number to AV-3. Eventually she was attacked by Japanese aircraft. The ship was scuttled and the crew was transferred to the fuel ship USS Pecos. However the Pecos would later be sunk on her way to Australia.

This is my second battle with the Langley and only my third CV match yet. Like in my previous Hosho video, I'm still trying to learn the game play of carriers, but like in that clip, I think I did pretty well for a novice. I think my favorite moment was near the end, using myself as bait for that last Destroyer, drawing him toward my ally DDs.
