SpitfireLUT

Descripción
I made this LUT specifically to go with my new map, Spitfire Island, and the Tatra Mountains Terrain Theme, which is beautiful! But this LUT looks great with the vanilla game too.

Get my Spitfire Island map here: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619049880

You can use this LUT with or without the Daylight Classic mod, but it looks better with it.

With the complete vanilla game (no terrain theme, no Daylight Classic), you'll get a warm glow with good contrast.

Get Tatra Mountains by Ennedi here:

If you do, you'll also need the Terrain Themes mod by TPB here:

Get Daylight Classic by Bloody Penguin here:

I don't want to completely derail your page, since this isn't really a problem specific to your LUT, but a VERY close example to what I'm seeing: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/shadow-side-of-buildings-too-dark.891026/

This isn't my screenshot, nor your LUT, but is very representative of what I'm seeing. If you have Paradox forum account, feel free to respond there instead so we don't clutter this page up :)

Daagar and Eugenio, I know exactly what you mean, but I've found that with this LUT combined with the right Daylight Classic settings for the map biome, you'll get really good contrast generally without such darkness in the shadows. For example, on a boreal map with this LUT and Dayight Classic, try turning off the classic sunlight intensity, and the map will get brighter while the LUT maintains its contrast. Finding the balance between the brightness and the contrast is the key here.

If you'll share some screenshots, we can compare notes.

eugenio - I actually noticed the same thing. The shadow side of buildings is _really_ dark. Some LUTs seem to be less obvious about it, but others are nearly pitch black. Try 'Clear and bright' - it isn't as colorful as Spitfire, but doesn't have the shadow issue to the same extent.

This isn't a slight against this LUT - I have a feeling this is a combination of things, and possibly just the game engine itself. If it was as bad for everyone, there would be many more complaints than what I have found.

best LUT ever .....
and still...i'd rather prefer a little less dark FX on blind spots

Glad you like it Hessie. I'm also finding that it looks great in every biome, with or without themes. Also try messing with the Daylight Classic settings. In some biomes, it looks better if you do not use the classic sun intensity.

Great LUT together with the daylight classic mod. Now the Game looks really awesome.

Thanx for this!

Daagar, so glad to hear that. I also have trouble with the visuals of the game. I see all these beautiful screen shots from others and wonder what they're doing to get such great results. There are so many variables. I really love the terrain theme mod, and now I guess that feature will come out with the new DLC, which I'm super excited about.
