This guide made for everyone having gold problems in the game . It's easy but a bit scumming ,
Warning this guide can make the game easier!

It's Pickpocketing Guide using some scum "allowed?" tactics.

1st . English is not my main Language but it s a short and easy '"guide"
2st . I did some research in Larian Forums, Steam guides and didn't found the strategy I used.

Reasons : Right now I'm doing a Honour mode Blind Run (I beat the Divinity Original Sin but never played the EE or in the Tactician mode) and as you can guess I got my little heart attacks - I lost a run lvl 16 team in that goblin totem ¬¬.
Anyways since I'm doing a run with bs wipes I will use everything in the game that allowed me to Min-Max which is get the best items.

Gold is not a main problem in the game not only that in the late game you won't need the best items since you will be real powerful.

This Guide doesn't work with both characters with Lone Wolf Trait but since you can reset around lvl 13.. Meh Around Hiberheim if you got all the Star Stones.

Ways to Make Gold and Pickpocketing Basis

There are a lot of ways to earn gold in this game:
Stealling Paints, Gold Cups , Gold Plates everything in the enviromment then Selling and Pickpocketing .
But without the Pickpocketing you will have shortage problems (probably) in the final Act I (Cyseal) and Act II (Luculla until Phantom Forest). Specially now with the Tier items (Legendary, Divine) that costs a Lot.

Pickpocketing :

I dont think I need to explain everystep of how to pickpocketing but let's put the main ideas about it.

You need the pickpocketing skill locate in Nasty Deeds
You need to be in Sneaking mode ( press C to enter) and Out of Sight
There are lot equipments that gives pickpocketing skill such as ( Rings,Bracers and Boots)
You can only Pickpocket a NPC once with that Character . Meaning you can't pickpocket multiple times the same shop.
It's already knowledgeable that Dexterity influence the quatinty of how much you can steel and the level restrictions . Meaning High dex , high rewards.

Pickpocketing Scum "allowed" Tactics

Normally in my setups in character creation I put at least one person with Scoundrel with Walk in Shadows to make my life easier to steal and pickpocketing but that's the normal stuff.

Now the Scum tactics. (Minor Minor Spoiler)

As you all know in the Hall of Heroes you can recruit companions to adventure with you. Some of them have the pickpocketing pre set skill and with some dex atribbutes.
Then :
Buy the Walk in Shadows skillbook teach for those who dont' have
Equip the pickpocketing items and go make your fortune . Showing nothing can stop in this game even economy.
Companions I used ( Daxalina, Waroth , Wanderwind)

Well now the Scum part .
Remeber the part I said you can only pickpocket once per character? So you can overcome this by hiring again the same companion again anf again in the Hall of Heroes !!!

BEHOLD THE HALL OF CLONES

In this photo I have 2 Waroth, 2 Wanderwind and one Daxalina . After I pickpocket with them I can't get rid so they are there wandering like clones without soul.. It's Perfect

For the Hero re appear, all you have to do is leave Homestead then go back . His name will once again be in the list to hire.

Conclusion

In the end you will have enough money to buy everything in the game and whenever you want and shape the game like it pleases you. you have money go buy everything !!!

You can create silly builds and Juggernaut builds such this one :

NOTE: It s not fully optimazed build and not full Juggernaut since he doesn't have zombie talent but dammit he's immortal and saved my run multiple bs deaths times.

Well this may make the game unreallistic or easy or whatever . After 3 lost runs in honour mode I will surpass it

As of Aug2023 I can confirm that 7777777777's tactic still works. Just make sure to get the merchant you are trading with to 0 gold before (as they said in step 4). Saves me from crafting items to sell and I can play the game without mass looting. I just keep all the gold plates and cups to sell/buy back to drain the merchant's gold.

The 1 gold in the backpack still works. I had been buying cheap materials and crafting with BS/CR 5 to get money but this just removes a few steps (:P).

There is a much easier way that allows you to have almost infinite gold. No need to invest any skill points. The process is as following:

1. Open your backpack, put 1 gold inside, then transfer the remaining gold to another character.
2. Sell your backpack to any merchant.
3. Exchange the remaining gold of that merchant with items.
4. When the merchant no longer has gold, buy the backpack back along with the items that you want to buy. Use gold to complete that transaction.
5. After the transaction, you may notice that the merchant didn't get any gold while you received the items you wanted to buy. The gold will go into your backpack.
6. Open the backpack, take out the gold inside and repeat process 1.

I'm sure it's still working. I just tried it in my new run. I knew this trick ~3 years ago in DOS and I thought they should already patched this in DOS-EE long ago, but no.

Another way
1 - drop any container (barrel, chest or backpacks) near valuable item like chalices and paintings.
2 - open it up, then drag and drop desired item into container
???
Profit!

Just watch yourself and don't just click or you gonna get caught.

i sold 100 buckets and pots and stuff....made about 4 to 5 doing that and killing people to make their stuff not be stealable since they dead and selling that stuff. i think the game ahs plenty of legit ways to make money if you put the time into it

It's working.
I just started another game to see if ithey fixed that. But nope I just cloned the first hero in Hall of Heroes (Berthold "The Barrel") 2 times.
I just follow these steps:
1º) Hire a companion in Hall of Heroes.
2º) Load Back to Cyseal or Anyplace in the Waypoiny Shrine ,execpt Homestead
3º) After the teleportation (Load Time), go back to homestead (Load Time) to Hall of Heroes.
4º) And in the end he will reappear in the Hire List
