magazine and bobblehead image map

a guide for finding the locations of perk magazines and bobbleheads which uses image files and text instead of embedded videos or flash programs that grind my game to a halt.

unfortunately I had to write every location by hand, so my guide sucks. don't use this piece of ♥♥♥♥ guide.

perhaps one of the most helpful ways to track down perk magazines you don't have would be to download the "glowing stuff" mod from the fallout 4 nexus. this makes the magazines and bobbleheads much easier to see. still, keep in mind that some of the magazines can be very easy to miss, even if you know what to look for. I used the "purple glow" mod and still almost missed some magazines because they were in very well lit areas.

if you already have some of the magazines and aren't sure which ones to look for, I numbered them on the map. these numbers should hopefully correspond with the numbering system in the perk list on your pipboy (on your stats tab, to the right, NOT the perk chart).
map legend
yellow dots are perk magazines. the abbreviated names will have a line drawn to their general location, but check under the image file for more detailed descriptions (work in progress).

locations with a star mark are bobblehead locations. the map note will also be listed with "(bh)" most of the time.

red locations are settlements, green locations are general map locations, purple locations are vaults.

the blue dots are holotapes and misc (fusion cores and stuff). I didn't put those there, so ignore them.

the magazine names are all abbreviated.

AAT: astoundingly awesome tales

gives random perks that provide myriad benefits for adventuring, based on which issue you collect. examples are 1 hp regeneration per minute, or 5% extra damage against specific enemy types like mirelurks.

GtB: grognak the barbarian

flat melee critical hit damage bonus per rank. each issue you collect of a flat bonus contributes to the total.

GnB: guns and bullets

flat ballistic critical hit damage bonus.

LnL: live & love

varied benefits for your companion, based on which issue you collect. examples are extra carry weight, or extra health.

MSJ: massachusetts surgical journal

flat stacking limb damage bonuses.

TJJV: tales of a junktown jerky vendor

flat stacking bonus to vendor prices.

TS: tesla science

flat stacking energy weapon critical damage bonus.

TuT: tumblers today

flat stacking reduction to lockpick difficulty (increasing the range of the sweet spot when picking a lock).

USCOM: us covert operations manual

flat stacking bonus to sneak.

U: unstoppables

flat stacking chance to avoid all damage.

WSG: wasteland survival guide

varied perks that increase abilities that help you survive, such as allowing you to gather twice as much meat from animals, or radiation reductions.

unique paint job for your power armor suits.

unique hair style for your character.

PF: picket fences

special building recipies for your settlements.

RCF: robco fun

a video game holotape you can play on your pipboy.

TTa: taboo tattoos

unique tattoos for your character.

TH: total hack

specialized hacking programs that give you access to enemy assets connected to terminals, such as turrets and protectrons.

YS: you're special!

a one use book, giving you a single extra point to put in your special stats.
