By crafting Badges, you gain XP, which raises your Steam level. Benefits of having a higher Steam level include:

• + 5 friends per level added to the cap.
  
• Showcases for your Steam Profile [1 Showcase every 10 levels].
  
• Increased chance of Booster Pack drop.

To raise your level, you need to craft badges or in some cases - complete tasks of community.

Trading Cards are virtual cards earned by playing games on Steam. These sets of cards are required for crafting of badges.



They can be obtained by trading, buying from community market or by card drops.
Card drops are obtained by achieving certain playtime on Games supporting trading cards. By card drops, you will be able to obtain half of the Trading Card Set. Remaining half can be obtained by trading or buying from community market.

Note: Trading Cards will drop only after you get 2 hours of gameplay. After that, they will start dropping at random timings.

• !level [desired level] - calculate how many sets it would take and how much it would cost to reach your desired level.
• !check - show how many unique badges you can buy at the moment.
• !buy - use to buy that amount of CS:GO keys for sets.

• !buytf [amount keys] - same as !buy - for TF2 keys.
• !buygems [amount of cards sets] - same as !buy - for Steam gems.

This won’t happen. Your badges will be checked, and you will receive only sets that you can craft immediately.
However, the bot does not check card sets in your inventory. Always craft your sets in your inventory before trading.

A certain amount of XP is required to level up. 100 xp is rewarded to the user when they craft a badge as well as they are rewarded a emoticon, background and a steam coupon. You can use those backgrounds and emoticons in trading and get the trading cards you want or you can sell them in community market for money if you want. The XP required for leveling changes every 10 levels. For example: Oliver is level 1, he will need 100xp per level till he reaches level 10. Once Oliver is level 10, he will need 200xp per level till he reaches level 20. Once Oliver is level 20, he will need 300xp per level till he reaches level 30 and so on. Every 10 levels, an additional 100xp is added to the requirement of xp per level.

Each Badge can be leveled upto 5 times whereas Foil Badges remains in Level One only.

Here is an example of Counter Strike: Global Offensive Badges. When you upgrade your badge, a new avatar appears on your badge. The Foil Badge is expensive than others and better looking in some cases, an example of Foil Badge is the CS:GO "Elite Crewman" badge shown above.

Once you have received all of your card drops, you become eligible for a booster pack containing 3 additional cards. Booster packs are granted randomly to eligible users as more badges are crafted by members of the community. Make sure you log in to Steam each week to maintain eligibility. Booster pack may help you get the other half of the card set that you recieved from card drops. You may also obtain an rare foil card when you unpack the booster. Since booster packs contain 3 cards, they can help you instantly complete your uncomplete set obtained from card drops if the set is made up of total 5, 6 or 7 card.

Once eligible, your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop:

• Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
  
• Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
  
• Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
  
• Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
  
• Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)

Etc.

Gems are a currency introduced on Steam on December 12, 2014, during the Holiday Sale 2014 event. Gems can be obtained by "recycling" trading cards, emoticons, and profile backgrounds that you own. Doing so destroys the card, emoticon or background, and gives a certain number of gems depending on the item.


Gems come in form of two:-

• Sack of Gems - 1 Sack of Gems contains 1000 gems, sacks are useful because they can be sold on Community Market. Unsacked gems can be coverted into Sacks but you need 1000 gems at least to do so. Sacks must be converted back to gems in order to craft Boosters.
  
• Gems - These are unsacked and can be used in making Booster Packs. These can not be sold, they need to be converted into sacks if you want to sell them.

Beware, never turn your trading cards into gems because you will get low amount of gems which will result in loss! Gems can help you craft a booster pack, you need a specific amount of gems in order to craft a booster pack. Turning backgrounds and emoticons into gems which reward 100 gems is the best way to obtain gems. CS:GO, TF2, Deadbreed etc's backgrounds and emoticons give you 100 gems when turned.

The free way to obtain trading cards is through card drops but since you can't obtain the whole card set by card drops, you would need to spare some money in Steam Community Market, Trading Cards can be purchased from the market at different prices. You can put a buy order and wait for someone to sell that card to you for cheaper, adding funds and buying is the fastest way to get trading cards. You can try trading [Offer trading cards of games that you won't collect Card Set of in exchange for the Card set you are looking for]. Incase you land with duplicate trading cards / want to trade your spare cards, you can try the Steam Trading Card Group's discussion and chat room. Make sure to follow the basic group rules before proceeding to trade. Also beware of scammers which are lurking in every corner!

If you don't want to spend money but have spare trading cards, you can try selling your spare trading cards in the Community Market and then once they are sold, you can buy the cards you are looking for. Another way is to use Steam Card Exchange [www.steamcardexchange.net], It is an trading card bot which helps in exchanging of cards.

Steam Card Exchange is probably the best way to use your spare cards in obtaining sets.

After reading the Steam Card Exchange guide, you are probably familiar with Normal Card Prices [NCP] and Last Card Prices [LCP]. The best way to find the cheapest card set possible is by checking the detailed list of bot's inventory through their webpage [www.steamcardexchange.net] then using NCP filter to view only NCP trading cards. Now, you can use the filter "Sets Available" to sort out the Card Sets that are complete and available in the bot's inventory. Buy the cheapest set available. Make sure you refer the bot's inventory to check the card's prices as well as to check the worth of the cards, you are going to offer.



Another amazing tool offered by Steam Card Exchange is the Badge Pricelist Checker. This tool will help you in finding the cheapest set available in the Steam Community Market. You can do so by going to the tool [www.steamcardexchange.net] and then using the "Price" Filter to find the cheap sets. Once you know the Card sets, proceed by purchasing them from the Steam Community Market. A tool for finding foil card sets [www.steamcardexchange.net] is also available in Steam Card Exchange.

Are you tired of buying a single card at a time, again and again?
Are your hands getting crippled from pressing that selling/buying button, again and again?
Then these two Google Chrome extensions are going to solve that problem for you. Steam Inventory Helper [chrome.google.com] and Steam Bulk Buyer [chrome.google.com] can help you buy card sets or sell stuff in just a few clicks! These tools are available on Chrome Web Store and work like any other chrome extension.

Steam Inventory Helper: This will help you sell your stuff in just a few clicks. In order to do so, go to your inventory. Click on select items which is near the search box. Now, select the items you want to sell and click on Sell. You can choose the selling price for each or can sell all at same price.

Steam Bulk Buyer: This Chrome extension adds a button to game card pages on the Steam Community website which allows you to automatically purchase the remaining cards in a set required to craft a badge.

Trading, you will probably get exposed to this function sooner or later. Trading can help you complete your card sets and level up quickly. If you check the trade posts or common steam trading group chat rooms, you will probably notice a certain price - 1:1 Same Set, 1:2 Different Set, this is the most common trading condition given by traders. 1:1 Same set means that you will need to give 1 card for 1 card of the other trader and both side's cards must be of same card set. 1:2 means that you are going to offer a card for the trader's card that is of other set, you will need to pay double since the prices between sets differ or you might be breaking his card set [It depends on the trader]. Be polite while trading and when engaging in trades, beware of scammers. Always use Steamrep [steamrep.com] to check their reputation.

Steam Sales are a great time for crafting. When you craft a card set, instead of a coupon, you get a Steam Sale trading card which gets expire when the sale ends. If you want to buy these Steam Sale cards, you can buy them for very cheap! Just wait till the last day of sale and then buy all the Steam Sale cards for cheap. Since they will be expiring soon, people list them for cheap.
You can also buy cheap games with trading cards during this time.

Steam Sale occurs 3 times a year but only 2 of them have these special steam sale cards - Winter/ Holiday Sale and Summer Sale. The third sale is the autumn sale which is also useful as a lot of games are on sale and you can buy cheap games with trading cards.

The Three Kinds of Sales are :-

Steam Summer Sale includes the Special Steam Sale Cards. Valve has been also making special events during the Summer Sale such as the Monster Summer Sale Game in 2015 and Steam Summer Adventure in 2014. These "special" events usually came with special badges obtained by completing certain tasks which then grant you XP. Steam Summer Sale occurs during the month of June.


Steam Autumn Sale takes place during the month of November. It does not come with special steam sale cards but you still can use this sale as advantage by buying games with trading cards for cheap.


Steam Winter/Holiday Sale takes place during the month of December. It comes with special steam sale trading cards.


You can collect card sets through out the year and craft them in bulk during Steam Sales for free special steam sale cards if you want to.

You can get a free badge by doing certain community tasks, for more information - Go to your badges page to check what tasks you need to do.

Note: Steam Mobile Authentication must be enabled for Community Badge level 3 as well as for your account's safety. Steam Developer Badge no longer gives 500xp due to misuse of it.

Those who can't use steam on mobiles, i recommend them to download Bluestacks.

For quite a time, alot of steam giveaways are going on. Most of them have 100% chance to win. Subreddit called FreeGameFindings has the posts about latest giveaways. Most of these games probably suck but some are good so enjoy these games while getting your trading cards!

• Buy Cards at Normal Price Value in Steam Card Exchange. You may buy at LCP if bot has some card you want at LCP but buy in few quantity only since they are expensive!
