The file "charactersPortraits0.xnb" should be placed in:
Steam > steamapps > Common > Speedrunners > Content > UI > MultiplayerMenu > Lobby

All the other files should be placed here:
Steam > steamapps > common > SpeedRunners > Content > Characters > Cosmonaut

BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR SPEEDRUNNERS FOLDER! So you don't need to download the game again every time you install a mod.
