Protoman Armor Help

I have heard that many players were unable to get the Protoman armor in STEAM after completing 30 sandbox single player challenges although they unlocked the associated Protoman accessories (Boots, Helmet and Blaster & Shield) already. So, I decided to help players to get it until CAPCOM is fixing the glitch.

So, how to get it?

It was really frustrating when I achieved “Challenge Experience” achievement but returning at Safe House I could not see the desired Protoman Armor in the clothing locker. So, I tried to find out a relatively fair way to get it. According my instruction you may get it in your clothing locker only if you have achieved the “Challenge Experience” achievement. “Challenge Experience” achievement is the achievement where you must get at least any medal in all 30 single player challenges. I cannot say my method will work or not for those who still did not get the 30 medals in all the 30 single player challenges and did not unlock Boots, Helmet and Blaster & Shield already.

However, to get the Protoman Armor you need to download this file from:
https://www#mediafire#com#file#c84049092rj46ci#datafile.big [remove all the hashes (#) while using the link with dots (.) and slash (/)]

Note that, after you change the link it should look like this...

Now, go to your steam folder and DR2OTR sub folder… the path should be like this…

Drive: -> Your STEAM folder -> steamapps -> common -> DeadRising 2 Off the Record -> data

In “data” you should find “datafile.big” and replace (overwrite) it with the downloaded one.

(Anytime, if you want to get back your original file, just check the integrity of the local files and it will be auto restored with the original one)

Run the game… you should get Protoman Armor at the left side of the door inside the Safe House Restroom.

Wear it with each and every part of the total dress [Boots, Helmet, Armor and Blaster & Shield]… then SAVE.

Now, close the game. Again over write [downloaded] “datafile.big” in the “data” folder by the original datafile.big that you kept as backup. Run the game and check your clothing locker… you should get it there.

Note: You should open the game from the same slot you saved it wearing the Protoman Armor.

UPDATE: I have tested it recently and after the DLCs had been removed from the store, you will not get it in the locker any more. So continue using my file to use this armor.

Does the glitch always happen to everyone? (the armor not unlocking)

Is there a way to unlock the armor without replacing our data? Say, cheat engine or something like that?

you can get it anytime you want, eventho you did not complete any challenge so far... so yeah. I think its better to get it first, so you dont have to restart Sandbox mode (i wrote down below why)

How to get Protoman armor into a clothing locker? THERE IS A STILL WAY TO DO IT! and here is how (follow the this guide and everything should be just fine):

1) First of all you need to download this mod "Franks Vacation". Here is the link: https://deadrising2mods.proboards.com/thread/3030/rising-record-franks-vacation-modpack
(This mod contains a lot of changes, but ignore all of them, we just need that one piece of outfit)

2) After you downloaded "Franks Vacation", there will be folder with modded datafile.big, this is only thing we need (BACKUP YOUR datafile.big, WE WILL NEED IT SOON)

3) Replace modded datafile.big with yours (DO A BACKUP! THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE)

4) Start the game and go into 72h mode (Single Player), THIS IS IMPORTANT!

5) Now you need to go into "Storage Room" NUMBER 1, where all outfits are placed (after leaving safehouse bathroom, where you usually saving your game, go straight to the right and you will find it)

6) You should find the "Protoman Armor" bag, after you wear it, the "Protoman Armor" will be added immediately into your clothing locker, BUT WE ARE NOT DONE YET!

7) After that SAVE YOUR GAME AND QUIT IT. You need to get your original datafile.big in charge and replace the modded one

8) After you replaced and get your original non modded datafile.big, start your game again

9) NOW YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE SANDBOX MODE PROGRESS, if you don'tt, you will not be able to play it as game will crash everytime you try

10) After you restarted that progress in Sandbox mode, go and save somewhere you like (Better do it in Safehouse)

11) And thats it, now you have FULL PROTOMAN OUTFIT in your clothing locker! Congrats! (i think i should make my own guide next time)
