Mod options can be changed via the WarioOptions.sql file. You can choose an alternate leader icon for Wario, as well as enabling alternate colours for Egypt if you're having trouble distinguishing the two civilizations on the map.

War Theme: Wario's Factory (Mario Sports Mix)

Additional soundtrack packs (either or both can be used):
Mod Compatibility
Also includes unique diplomacy responses to several other civilizations, see the included readme for details.

Known Issues
  • I'm not sure whether they'll appear by default either, but the unique promotions that make Wario's UA work may not appear in the Unit Panel depending on what mods you have loaded. However, they should still be in effect - the correct "Attack Bonus" should appear when the combat prediction pop-up is displayed.

@Weboh

UU continued - As for the Gold bonus, yes it might not last that long, but that means you have to try timing your digs so that they (hopefully) give you a Gold/attack boost at the right time (I might make it give a guaranteed boost even if you have the max of 25%, so this effect is always useful for Wario). It's a 50/50 chance as I didn't want every site to yield the bonus, though perhaps I can increase the chances depending on certain factors.

UB - The Gold you get from this can be affected by any modifiers that increase your Gold by a percentage, so Markets, Banks and Stock Exchanges will make each additional 2 Gold go further (and you want those buildings as Wario). Go here [civilization.wikia.com] for information on how Theming Bonuses work, but it can work with the UA by getting one that requires foreign Great Works of Art/Artifacts.

@Weboh

I'll see if I can address your concerns here:

UA - 25% attack boost is not really small, if you consider that a Great General gives you a 15% combat strength increase (so if you have a GG that's 40% extra strength on the attack). It's also offensive in particular so it encourages you to go on the offense, take a few cities and steal Great Works for the other part ot the UA.

UU - I can understand that 20 strength in the Industrial era might be weak, and I could buff it a bit, but I don't want it to be strong enough that it can replace your normal army (although that might not be a good idea anyway, since it'll go obsolete when later units appear). Actually having a melee attack should allow it to prevent other Archaeologists from digging things up, as it can capture them.

I like the idea of Wario, but his unique building, unit, and attribute all kind of stink. An archeologist with a weak melee attack that has a 50/50 chance of giving you +100 gold (on quick) when he digs a site? A stadium that gives a tiny amount gold but only if you have a theming bonus (which I've never really understood)? And if you get tons of gold per turn, you get a very small boost to attack power? Maybe I'm just a n00b and don't really get the effectiveness of it. Has nobody else complained he's too weak?

Wario has been updated. See the change log for full details on fixes and changes, but the most important thing is that Microgame Producers now give their bonus properly. So get on to obtaining those theming bonuses!

Also, I've updated the soundtrack packs as welll to fix some issues, but none of the music has actually changed, so use these links and extract them using 7-Zip to your MODS folder if you already have the packs:
Common: MEGA [mega.nz]
WarioWare: MEGA [mega.nz]

I'm in the process of updating Wario, and I realised while doing it that I messed up while coding the Microgame Producer's bonus Gold, and it doesn't work properly. In a vanilla game, it will only work for Broadway's theming bonus.

I hope to release the update in the next couple of days, but I apologise for anyone who's played with Wario and not had any extra Gold from Microgame Producers. :Nepgear:

@DeerwreckBround
You might be able to get it to work already, if you can get the game to load Single Unit Graphics after this mod.

However, I'll include something in the next update that should automatically make the Treasure Hunter fit with both that and other mods that adjust the amount/size of units on a tile (such as the variants of R.E.D).
