Didn't pick up the estus flask, so I'm eating them to heal... It's a bit silly, I guess. :) I was also planning to skip the kindle bonfire achievement, but I rested at the very first bonfire out of habit. :( Oh well. :)

Certain enemies like rats can drop humanity balls, so if for example you are near the bonfire in the Depths, you can keep fighting them to grab more.

Also, as long as you're farming rats in the Depths, you can farm slimes for large shards and green shards - but it's dumb. The leeches in Blighttown are a better way to get those, but it's dumb there, too. :)

Unless you're intentionally keeping bosses alive for pvp purposes, the best way to get those titanite shards is to buy them from umm, Sen's Fortress and Anor Londo.
