Alien Isolation - Cut Mission Scripts
Welcome to this guide covering the original story of Alien: Isolation!

As a massive fan of the game I was amazed when I found all of this and I had to share it with everyone as it's surely absolute gold to any other fans. Sadly a lot of it is incomplete or missing, so I presume it was changed quite early in development - but it's still a great read.

I hope it's OK in terms of copyright laws or whatever to post this, but if it isn't someone can feel free to let me know (with reasons) and I'll take it down.

So first off, let me explain how this works.
The game has a directory of text files for subtitles. Each of these text files represent a different mission or part of a mission and this is signified by two two digit codes in the file name. For example, mission one part one is named M0101.TXT.
If you look in your /Alien Isolation/DATA/TEXT/ENGLISH/ folder you'll see all the existing game subtitle files and understand where the ones that I've found fit in. Interestingly, you'll notice that the final mission is number 34 so what I've discovered is still only the tip of the iceberg!

Now, on to the story. Before we go any further, there are obviously spoilers in this, so if you haven't completed the game - don't read it unless you're OK with knowing important plot points.
A lot of this original/alternate story is very similar in terms of structure to the final story. Many outcomes are the same, many (if not all) characters are the same, it's just the ways of getting to the major plot points that are different. There are also some big reveals that I find weird are left out of the final story as they seem to apply there too - E.G. Axel has actually come out of the prison cells that you see in M10.

I've created one big file with all the scripts in where I've put my comments in at the start of each section. I've also tried to make the script easier to read by converting the coded character names to their actual character names however I couldn't work them all out, so any that are still their coded names are in single quotation marks. I've also linked a zip of the original files unaltered though just in-case you wanted that.

It's pretty long but very worth the read!

Devs put these things in and exclusively cut them out to allow the further sale of reintroduced DLC in short they work out what can be put on the burner till later so they can sell you exclusively cut out pieces as DLC for more profit at a later date especially if they intend to do a sequel wouldn't be the first title to do this on the same page they also do it to shorten release dates ect.. my guess is the game didn't garnish the sales they wanted so they didn't keep to the original plan to use hidden script to tie in DLC and a sequel thus they released a few DLC to fix up the loose ends and data dumped the idea of a sequel.

what you should do instead is make a mod incorporating this...

I hate it when they cut content. This is what happens when you have impatient, greedy people on the top pressuring art to be released unfinished.
