Introduction
Welcome to my guide! This should hopefully stay fairly up-to-date, but occasionally some information may become outdated as the game updates.

The items available in 20XX are many, and sometimes the game doesn't necessarily explain what they do properly. This is especially true when it comes to the Prototype augments! This guide's purpose serves to eradicate any confusion and make you the all-knowing Contractor you deserve to be!

Regular Pickups

Small Health
+1 Health

Do I need to explain this one? Increasing your health allows you to take more hits, which in turn allows you to not die when you're hit a lot. Useful!

Large Health
+3 Health

A bigger bundle of health! These larger pickups are considerably rarer than their small counterparts, but they restore thrice the hit points! Very useful.

Armour Capsule
+2 Armour
(Additional +1 Armour per Armour Spreader Augment)

Armour is similar to health, but there's no limit to the amount of armour you can carry. When you get hit, you lose armour points before you lose health. Additionally, taking a hit to your armour will result in you taking no knockback.

Small Energy
+2 Energy

Energy is used to cast your Powers, special weapons acquired from defeated bosses with powerful and unique abilities. No energy means you're stuck with using your basic buster! (Or sword. I don't judge.)

Large Energy
+5 Energy

Like the regular energy pickup, but five instead of two. You seeing a pattern here? Still, casting a Power five times is not a thing to scoff at, as it could protect you from an untimely demise.

Small Nuts
+1 Nuts

Nuts are the currency of 20XX, and are used to purchase items from shops and capsule machines. They're always handy to have, and they have other uses, too.

Large Nuts
+5 Nuts

These larger and shinier drops are much rarer, but they're worth five times as many nuts. Make sure to grab these whenever you see them!

Nutstack
+10 Nuts

Yup. That's its name. Nutstack. I didn't even make that up. This special item only appears at the end of a level, after you've defeated the boss. You'll get to choose between a Power, a Nutstack or a low-value Augment.

Soul Chips
+<X> Soul Chips! (Amount depends on current level and activated skulls)

These special pickups only appear at the end of a stage or after defeating a powerful and tanky Soul Enemy. They're mainly used to unlock new items which can appear during your Jobs, but you can also use them to start your next Job with a specific item if it's available.

Shiny Token
+1 Token

These tokens can be used in the Slot Machines which occasionally appear in boss corridors. The slot machines can grant anything, be it health, an Augment, energy, nuts or even a Core Aug! Hope you get lucky!

Passive Augments 1

Life Extender

+1 Maximum Health
"Max health +1."

Unlocked from the start. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase. Low-Value Augment.

This simple aug increases your maximum health by a singular pip. That single hit could be the difference between life and death, so don't scoff at its low increase!

Heart Container

+2 Maximum Health
"Max health +2."

Costs 5 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 24 Nuts to purchase.

Twice the power of the Life Extender in a similarly-sized package! Survive two extra hits with this glorious piece of technology! Unless the thing damaging you deals two damage. Obviously.

Megaheart

+4 Maximum Health
"Max health +4!"

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 48 Nuts to purchase.

This expensive and wonderful Aug extends your health bar by a whopping four pips! With that much health, you'll never die. Plus, as is the nature of a health bar, you can recover it by picking up health drops.

Blue Lander

+1 Maximum Health, Health Set to Max
"Max health +1! Also, full health."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

This adorable little... whatever-it-is will fully replenish your health the instant you pick it up. How helpful! If you're struggling to survive and this guy turns up out of the blue, be sure to say "thank you".

Potato Battery

+3 Maximum Energy
"Max energy +3!"

Unlocked from the start. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase. Low-Value Augment.

A mechanically-enhanced potato which serves as an additional source of power for your Powers. More energy means you can use your Powers more before recharging, which is always helpful. Just... don't try to eat the potato, okay?

Vibroreserve

+6 Maximum Energy
"Max energy +6!"

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 24 Nuts to purchase.

This potato is so mechanically enhanced that it's started to emit blue sparklies. All the wiring seems a little higher quality too, and it's a different type of potato. Overall, this makes it about twice as powerful as your average potato, extending your energy bar by six pips! As a bonus, all those blue sparklies should hopefully remind you that the potato is NOT edible, and may actually just be sparks of electricity leaked from the device.

Brain Food Lunch

+2 Maximum Health, +4 Maximum Energy, Energy Set to Max
"Max HP +2! Max NRG +4! Also, full NRG."

Costs 13 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 40 Nuts to purchase.

The Brain Food Lunch is just that - food in the shape of a brain. Or maybe it is a brain. I wouldn't know, I've never tried to eat one. When acquired, this Augment will significantly increase both your health and energy gauges while also completely restoring any lost energy. Recharged, rejuvenated and ready to roll!

Passive Augments 2

Strongarm Band

+1 Attack Strength
"Basic attacks deal slightly more damage."

Unlocked from the start. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase. Low-Value Augment.

Boost the power of your Primary Weapon with this Strongarm Band! That's your Buster if you're playing as Nina, or your Blade if you're playing as Ace. Show the world how strong you can truly be! ERNGHETSOME! YEAH! C'MON! RRGBRRG!

Band of Might

+2 Attack Strength
"Basic attacks deal more damage."

Costs 3 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

To arms! Twice the power of the Strongarm Band with this raw, unhindered bracelet of MIGHT! With twice the power, comes twice the pain! Or something like that, anyway. Either way, this Augment could be the difference between taking an enemy down in two hits or one, and extra damage is always helpful against bosses.

Bracer of Battle

+5 Attack Strength
"Basic attacks deal *much* more damage."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 50 Nuts to purchase.

Two arms! Increase your damage output by five whole points! Become the harbinger of death you deserve to be, have your enemies cower - afraid of your FEARSOME MIGHT! At least, they would be cowering if they weren't robots, anyway. I don't think robots are capable of expressing fear yet. Still, the +5 Attack Strength is super useful no matter how you're built, so be sure to pick up this Augment when you can!

Reclaimed Spark

+1 Power Strength, +1 Maximum Energy
"Powers deal slightly more damage."

Unlocked from the start. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase. Low-Value Augment.

The Power equivalent to the Bands, these Augments increase the strength of your Powers - the special weapons you acquire after defeating Bosses. With great Power Strength, comes great... death to your enemies, I suppose. So long as you have the Energy reserves to accommodate for it, of course.

Power Enhancer

+3 Power Strength
"Powers deal more damage."

Costs 5 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 24 Nuts to purchase.

Triple the power at only double the cost! Increasing the damage of your Powers helps them deal with both enemies and bosses much faster - especially when the boss is weak to the Power you're using! Just... remember to actually use the powers, alright?

Thunderous Boon

+6 Power Strength
"Powers deal massively more damage!"

Costs 22 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 45 Nuts to purchase.

Expand your mind and experience true wisdom with this expensive but powerful Augment. Six extra Power Strength will increase the damage output of your Powers by over an extra half when starting off, though it doesn't scale multiplicatively. Still, it's the difference between a Boomerang Blade hitting for 20 and a Boomerang Blade hitting for 32, so you can definitely see the power behind this Aug.

Passive Augments 3

Ninja Sash

+2 Run Speed
"Increases your speed! Gotta go fast."

Unlocked from the start. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase. Low-Value Augment.

Increasing your speed is nice, but remember not to overdo it. If you get too many, the speed may overwhelm you and you'll end up ramming head-first into obstacles. However, learn to control the speed, and you'll soon rise up those leaderboards. Especially the speed ones!

Hypersash

+5 Run Speed
"Increases speed by a lot! Gotta go REAL FAST."

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

Experience mobility! Increase your speed by a large amount, but don't forget that it's a lot easier to overcollect when your speed increases are this significant! Think long and hard before picking this Augment up - do you really need to go faster? (Spoiler warning: The answer is probably yes)

Plumber Hat

+4 Jump Height
"Boosts both jumping and plumbing abilities."

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

This spring-loaded helmpiece somehow enables you to jump much higher than before. How does this even work, anyway? There's something underneath the hat, so you can't put it on... do you just carry it around or something? Though then again, that just makes me question the whole Augmentation system in general... it's best not to think about things too hard. Maybe I should try jumping on my questions.

Zephyr

Attack Speed Up
"Increases attack speed."

Costs 11 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Slightly misleading this one, especially in Nina's case. For Ace, this does exactly what it says on the tin - you can swing your sword faster. For Nina, you can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger anyway - this Augment just allows you to have more bullets on the screen at once. Two extra bursts of fire, to be precise! It also enables you to cast your Powers faster - this applies to both Nina and Ace!

Contractor Plus

+1 Maximum Health, +1 Maximum Energy, +1 Attack Strength,
+1 Power Strength, +1 Run Speed, +1 Jump Height

"All stats up!"

Costs 8 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

+1 EVERYTHING! Every primary stat gets increased by one. It's a simple augment, but it gets the job done. Plus, it's surprisingly powerful when you realise all the stats in there... I mean, it's not often you get Augs which increase your health, so cherish the ones that do!

Contractor Omega

+3 Maximum Health, +3 Maximum Energy, +3 Attack Strength,
+3 Power Strength, +3 Run Speed, +3 Jump Height

"All stats WAY up!"

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 60 Nuts to purchase.

Look at those glorious stat boosts! Health! Speed! Strength! Energy! Power! Jump! It's truly the jackpot of Augments, which is why it's also quite a rare find. Still, whenever you come across this Augment, be sure to take it while you can! The boost to literally everything is too good to pass up!

Passive Augments 4

Forcemetal Shell

+2 Maximum Health, +2 Attack Strength, -2 Run Speed
"Boosts health and attack damage; costs speed."

Costs 16 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

The only augment capable of reducing your run speed, although not by much. Either way, it's worth looking out for if you're going a bit too fast for your liking, especially when picking up multiple Hypersash augs! Plus, there's a pretty hefty health and attack strength buff in there too, so don't completely write it off if you're going too slow.

XCALBER

+2 Maximum Health, +2 Attack Strength, -2 Maximum Energy, -2 Power Strength
"Attack damage up! Power damage down."

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Wanna focus a bit more on your primary attacks? This is the augment for you! It increases your health and primary fire damage, in exchange for max energy and power damage. It's a little bit specialised, which means it's not suitable for every situation - especially if you're working with a power strength build! Which buff is more valuable to you?

Striking Feather

+2 Maximum Health, +2 Maximum Energy, +2 Power Strength, -2 Attack Strength
"Trades attack damage for NRG, HP and power damage."

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

The opposite to the XCALBER... kind of. I mean, they both increase your maximum health, but the other attributes are reversed. This technically makes this augment considerably more valuable than it's counterpart, as you're losing only one stat yet increasing three. Still, if you're going for a power build, this is one valuable little augment!

Glass Cannon

+2 Attack Strength, +2 Power Strength, -2 Maximum Health
"Gain damage and squishiness!"

Costs 11 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase.

A gamble of an item. Is the universal strength boost really worth losing 2 maximum health over? Many may disagree. However, if your health bar is bigger than you know what to do with, maybe there's some worth behind this augment. Thankfully, it won't bring you below 1 Maximum Health anymore... but you'll still be a One Hit Wonder unless you're protected by armour.

Leafmetal Plating

+4 Run Speed, +4 Jump Height, -2 Maximum Health
"Become fast and durable as the wind."

Costs 14 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

The only Prototype to ascend to full production. Also one of the few augments which largely increases jump height! It's a little bit of a gamble, is the maximum health loss really worth a substantial increase in speed? Plumber Hats aren't particularly common, so it's really up to you to decide.

Passive Augments 5

Vitality Scavenger

Health Find Up, +2 Health
"Enemies drop more health."

Costs 7 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase.

This augment is a little misleading. While it doesn't actually increase the rate that health drops from enemies, it instead makes it so that enemies will violently explode into health pickups. Suddenly, 3-5 small health drops from a single enemy! Let's hope RNG is on your side. Plus, it also heals you a tiny little bit.

Energy Scavenger

Energy Find Up, +1 Power Strength
"Enemies drop more energy."

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase.

An oddly inexpensive augment. Similarly to the Vitality Scavenger, this aug gives enemies a chance to explode into 3-5 energy pickups when defeated. That's up to 10 energy per enemy, which can completely fill up your energy pool at the start of a run! Wow. Plus, you also get a little power strength boost.

Scrapmetal Scavenger

Nut Find Up
"Enemies drop more nuts."

Costs 6 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase.

Similarly to the Vitality Scavenger, this aug gives enemies a chance to explode into nuts. A lot of nuts, I don't think this one caps at 5 like the other ones do. Plus, more nuts means more buying things from shops and capsule machines! Which, overall, is a very very good thing.

Armor Scavenger

Armor Find Up, +1 Armor (+1 Armor for each Armor Spreader)
"Enemies drop more armor!"

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 24 Nuts to purchase.

Different to the Vitality Scavenger, this aug actually increases the drop rate of armour. Enemies will drop armour a little bit more, which in result lets you live a little bit more. They occasionally drop two! Plus, this aug gives you +1 Armour right off the bat, too. Everyone's happy! (Except for the guy who just spent 24 nuts on this thing. Maybe.)

Seven Leaf Clover

Luck Up
"Enemies drop more everything."

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

What do you get when you combine all of the Scavenger augmentations? Really, really lucky, that's what. And that's where the Seven Leaf Clover comes into play - increasing the drop rate of all four main pickups. Unlike the Scavengers though, this aug doesn't cause enemies to explode into pickups - it simply increases the drop rate instead.

Health Nut

Nut to Health Conversion Up
"Nuts sometimes give 1 health."

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase.

This augment has a small chance to restore 1 health every time you pick up nuts. The chance increases depending on the size of the nut - small for Small Nuts, about half for Large Nuts and guaranteed for Meganuts! Some people say money is life, but with this aug - you can make that saying literal.

Charged Nuts

Nut to Energy Conversion Up
"Nuts sometimes restore 1 energy."

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase.

Now in blue! This aug behaves almost identically to the Health Nut aug, but it restores energy instead of health. The specialised nut augs stack very well together too, meaning a single nut can restore health, energy and grant armour.

Armor Nut

Nut to Armor Conversion Up
"Nuts sometimes also give 1 armor."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Now in.. armour colour! (Gray?) Do I really need to explain an item which basically does the same thing three times? Though, it's worth keeping in mind that unlike the Health Nut and Charged Nuts augments, Armour Nut is considerably rarer, and it only triggers half as often. However, unlike health, armour has no cap...

Passive Augments 6

Meganut

+25 Nuts
"+25 Nuts!"

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Cannot be purchased from shops.

Like a regular nut, but twenty five times as valuable! These rare nuts appear like regular augments within a level. Although unlike most augments, the Meganut does not appear in shops... although I would question the logic behind selling money, anyway.

Shinier Token

+3 Tokens
"Counts as 3 tokens. Wow!"

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase.

What's better than one token? THREE! Three tries on the Slot Machine means you're three times more likely to get something good! Although it's still a bit of a gamble, both on the results and waiting for the slot machine to spawn in the first place. Unlike other augs, the Shinier Token does not appear on the rightmost Soul Shop... because there's a machine that gives you tokens right next to it.

Armor Bloom

+6 Armor (+2 for every Armor Spreader)
"Grants 6 armor. Spreadable."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

A larger version of the Armor Capsule. These appear like regular augments within a level, and grant a hefty sum of armour when collected. Plus, it stacks very nicely with the Armor Spreader augment, too. Don't waste it all in one place! (Or do. I mean, that would technically mean it saved your life.)

Armor Spreader

Armor Boost Up
"Armor capsules are worth 1 more armor."

Costs 14 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Given the rarity of armour capsules, one would question the usefulness of this augment. But if you luck out and manage to get a few armour drops, this augment will augment their power and make them worth much more! Synergises fairly well with augs like Armor Scavenger, too.

Regenerative Plating

Health on Level Start, +2 Health
"+2 HP at level start."

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 12 Nuts to purchase.

This augment grants you 2 health every time you begin a level. Super simple. Great if you need to recover after a tough boss battle, but not that useful if you're finishing levels with full health each time. Also immediately restores 2 health when you pick it up, which is a nice bonus.

Enerative Plating

Energy on Level Start
"MAX NRG at level start!"

Costs 16 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Functionally identical to the Regenerative Plating, but with one big difference - instead of healing two health, it maximises your energy before every stage. If you're one to use Powers, this is particularly useful - especially if you make use of boss weaknesses!

Armorative Plating

Armor on Level Start
"+2 Armor at level start!"

Costs 25 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

A flat-out upgrade to the Regenerative Plating - due to there being no limit to how much armour a player can have at one time. Having two knockback-resisting health points after every level is extremely useful, even if you end up finishing levels at full health.

Passive Augments 7

Nut Replicator

Nut Investment Up
"Your unspent nuts pay dividends (20%/level)."

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Basically, at the end of each level, 20% of your nut total gets duplicated, giving you free money. If you finish a level with 10 nuts, you'd start the next with 12. This stacks additively too, so if you had five, you'd be doubling your nuts each level! Although there's a cap to this aug's usefulness - no matter how many you have, you can only gain 100 nuts per level.

Hoarder's Might

Nuts Boost Damage
"Nutholding increases damage!"

Costs 16 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

This powerful aug makes it so that for every 20 nuts you hold, you gain 1 attack and power strength. Collection of this augment may make keeping your money considerably more valuable, especially when stacked with augs like Scrapmetal Scavenger and Nut Replicator. You know what they say, money is power! (... Do people say that?)

Thrift Actuator

Shop Costs Down
"One shop item is ALWAYS on sale! Stackable."

Costs 16 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase.

A mysterious aug which causes the world to shift around you, possessing all shopkeepers to offer one of their wares at half price. The more you have, the more items go on sale! It even stacks with the regular chance for items to go on sale, so you might even get half price on a shop's entire stock if you're lucky!

Choicebooster

Shop Selection Up
"Shops contain an additional item."

Costs 13 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Similar to the Thrift Actuator, this augment manipulates the shops around you in order to stock more augments. Maybe they'll have something you want next time! ... Or maybe they'll have everything you want, and you won't have any money to afford it. Either way, more options never hurt anyone.

Nutsaving Stringwire

Machine-Use Nut-Saver Online
"50% chance to use a machine for free."

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

This augment makes all three types of Capsule Dispensers to be usable for free.. with a 50% chance. It doesn't work on Slot Machines, however... despite how much you want it to. Either way, combine this with Vendsmasher and you can get a seriously good pick-me-up for a seriously small price!

Vendsmasher

Vendsmasher Online
"Destroyed vending machines give additional pickups."

Costs 14 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

When you use a Capsule Dispenser so much that it explodes, this augment allows you to harvest some perfectly usable loot from the remains. Normally this is in the form of 3-5 extra pickups from the machine, but occasionally you may get a Heart Container from Health or Crimson Dispensers, or a Potato Battery from Energy Dispensers. Though if the dispenser doesn't break...

Entropy Lock

You feel lucky.
"Slot Machines love you."

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Slot Machines are super useful, but there's always the chance that you'll get something you don't want. Like nothing. This augment manipulates the RNG of slot machines so that they will never give you nothing. You'll always get a reward - be it regular pickups or a regular, stackable augment. Does not increase the chances of getting non-stackable augments or core augments, however - but it does increase the chance you'll get them earlier than usual.

Passive Augments 8

Charging Magnet

Charge Pull Active
"Charging draws in pickups!"

Costs 5 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Ever had a large health pickup fall down a pit when you really need it? This augment can help with that! Whenever you charge your primary weapon, any nearby pickups will gravitate towards you. That way, you'll never lose a pickup again! Mag-neato. (Though if you can't charge your weapon...)

Crisis Overdrive

Crisis Overdrive Online
"While in red HP, your abilities are greatly increased."

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

When you're under 25% health, you gain +3 Attack Strength, +3 Power Strength, +4 Run Speed and +4 Jump Height. This could be just what you need to make that last-ditch comeback! Though for the truly skilled, you could just live in an eternal danger state and reap the benefits. Danger Nina, yo!

Crisis Timestopper

Crisis Timestopper Online
"Freeze all foes when a hit knocks you into red HP."

Costs 22 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

The moment you get hit to under 25% health, all enemies in the level will freeze for 3 seconds, allowing you to easily take them out with no danger. Unlike Crisis Overdrive, this augment only triggers the moment you enter low health, and stays inactive until you heal up and get hit to a danger state again.

Forgotten Memento

Nut Reserve Active, +3 Power Strength
"+3 Power Damage. Let nuts fuel your rage."

Costs 25 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

A boost to your Power Strength, and you get the ability to transform nuts into energy when times are dire. Using a Power with this augment when out of energy will consume 2 nuts to fire the Power instead. Veteran contractors may find this augment to look vaguely familiar...

Pure Flame

+1 Power Strength (Repeats every level)
"+1 Power Damage per level and also now."

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

While not the brightest of flames, this little blue candle grants you +1 Power Strength. Every single level. While it starts off very weak, it grows stronger for every boss slain. If you get this on Level 1, you could get a seriously sizable buff for the final fight!

Quantum Spook

Wallspook Online
"All attacks ignore walls and shields!"

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 35 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Sometimes, dealing with shielded enemies or enemies that like to hide behind walls can be annoying. This augment serves to mitigate that annoyance somewhat, letting all your attacks pierce through both walls and shields like they don't even exist. However, every rose has its thorn - and if you're using a Power which makes use of walls to be effective (like Splinterfrost), then maybe it's not such a good idea to pick up this augment.

Spillover Matrix

Matrix Online
"Extra health becomes energy! (Not the other way around.)"

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

An interesting augment. When you're at full health, any health capsules you pick up will transform into energy instead, at double the rate. (So picking up a Small Health will result in +2 Energy.) Veteran contractors may recall this augment having a much stronger effect too, as it used to be able to convert energy into health. It was nerfed though, as the feature was - for lack of a better description - immensely overpowered.

Passive Augments 9

Mistimed Protector

Invuln Time Up
"Extends your invuln frames"

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Having a shield to protect you from damage is pretty nice.. however, this augment gives you that shield a little too late. Essentially this just extends the period of invulnerability you get after taking damage, which can be useful to prevent you from getting multi-hit to oblivion. Despite its flaws, this augment still has a pretty good use.

Mixmatch Mastery

Fashionable Boldness Up
"Cores from different sets boost stats!"

Costs 7 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Having a completely matching outfit is undoubtedly fashionable, but what if you want to mix it up a bit? This augment lets you do that, granting you a boost to Attack Strength, Power Strength, Run Speed and Jump Height whenever your clothes don't match. The boost increases in strength depending on how many different sets you're wearing at the time - +1 for 2 sets, +2 for 3 sets and +4 for 4 sets. Just expect to have people to question your fasion sense.

The Volunteer

Volunteer Application Accepted
"In-level shops become Very Safe Labs"

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

A questionable augment. Any shops you find within the regular level areas become Very Safe Laboratories, which offer Prototype augmentations. Prototypes can be a bit of a gamble, so the usefulness of this augment is questionable at best. Either way, if you want a little bit of fun in your life, pick this up!

Thrillseeker

FOR GLORY!
"Future stages have Glory Zones."

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Ever wanted more Core Augs in your life? Well, seek out this augment then. With the supreme power that you get from the augment with an awesome cape, every future level you face will have a Glory Zone... if it can have one, anyway. Beating the Glory Zones will grant you way more chances at getting Core Augs... but failing them grants you nothing. Power only comes to those that earn it, but at least you get more chances now.

World Slug

The world slows.
"Platforms slow down (starting next level)."

Costs 13 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 40 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Some people may think this aug can slow down time, and it's easy to see why - but the only thing that slows when under the effects of the World Slug are moving platforms, stage lasers and dissapearing blocks. Either way, if you're having trouble navigating the fast platforms of lategame Skytemple, this may be a handy augment to have.

The CBRC has noticed that in the Future Technology Information Booklet: 1.4th Edition, the listing for the augment has been removed. While the world may be locked at a predictable pace for Contractors interfacing with PC systems, the Augment may still appear for any Contractor doing their jobs on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch.

Zookeeper's Sigil

Friendship Up
"Repros deal 25% additional damage."

Costs 24 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Repros are such friendly little things, always fighting for you and never asking for anything in return. (Well, Skittery Smuggler notwithstanding.) This augment enhances their abilities, allowing them to perform their tireless job even harder than before. You go, little guys!

System Restore

<effects depend on collected Prototype augments>
"Cures you of any already-acquired Prototype penalties."

Costs 25 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 40 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

This item rewrites any Prototype augments you've already picked up, removing their negative traits but retaining the positive ones. The effects differ for each Prototype you've picked up, so check down in the Prototypes section for additional details. This aug does nothing if you've acquired no Prototypes, though. Never rely on one appearing, however - this is by far the rarest Aug in the game.

Passive Augments 10 - Repros

Minimech O. Grinder

"A friendly guardian orbits you, deflecting attacks."

Costs 14 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Stacks up to 8.

The Miniature Mechanical Orbital Grinder will circle around you, protecting you from projectiles. Any projectiles which hit the little guy will harmlessly dissapear. Unlike most Repros, this one doesn't have issues keeping up with your every movement. Up to eight of these can be collected at once, which will grant you a considerable projectile shield if you somehow manage it! If you end up collecting more than eight, they'll dismantle themselves, giving you 25 nuts.

Murderdrone

"A friendly blaster bit orbits you, attacking foes."

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

This little Repro hovers behind you (despite its tooltip), and when it detects a foe, it fires a bullet which deals damage equivalent to 1.0x of your Attack Strength! The Murderdrone bullets don't trigger enemy retaliation attacks or boss invulnerability frames either, making them extremely devastating. Collecting multiple of the augment will power the Repro up, making it 50% stronger, increasing its fire rate and changing its colour for each additional Murderdrone collected.

Skittery Smuggler

"Smuggles your nuts. But why?"

Costs 16 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase.

This Repro, similar to the Murderdrone, hovers behind you. When it catches sight of a Small Nut or Large Nut item, it'll fly towards it and gobble it right up! It won't touch Nutstacks or Meganuts, though. Once it's collected enough nuts, the Repro will violently explode next to you, leaving two random augments behind. So it's a little bit of a gamble, really.

Shockwave Sidekick

"Wow, a penguin. Yay."

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Oh wow, it's a penguin! This Repro follows you, moving similar to the penguins in Frostor (but with much more velocity). Every two seconds, it charges at you and fires red ice shards in all four directions, damaging enemies for 2.0x your Power Strength. The little guy even goes through walls! Similarly to the Murderdrone, this Repro also powers up when collected in multiples, dealing 100% extra damage and slightly increasing its dash rate... it even fires diagonally when it hits level 4!

Gapminder

"Prevents fall damage."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 35 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Mind the gap! .. That's what this vaguely-familiar Repro would probably tell you, but it does all the gap-minding for you. Any time you fall into a bottomless pit with this guy around.. you take no damage, and are harmlessly teleported back! How handy! (Especially for levels like Skytemple.)

Re-Flapp

"Headbutts nearby foes!"

Costs 12 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

This smaller (and wingless) version of the Flapp enemies gently floats behind you. Once it spots an enemy, it charges forth, headbutting it for 1.0x your Attack Strength! Although, it seems to be able to deal with Flapps with relative ease, dealing ten times your Attack Strength to these particular enemies. What a handy little guy! Similarly to the Murderdrone, this Repro also powers up when collected in multiples, dealing 100% additional damage per level.

Tiny Flamespewer

"Spews flame cones at foes!"

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 24 Nuts to purchase.

This little Repro targets enemies similar to the Murderdrone. When it fires, it shoots a spread of three black fireballs, each individually dealing 1.5x your Power Strength. The fireballs also pierce if they kill their target. His range is rather limited, though... Similarly to the Murderdrone, this Repro also powers up when collected in multiples, dealing 50% additional damage and firing an extra projectile for each level.

The Rebeginner

"Sacrifices himself for you if you die."

Costs 30 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 60 Nuts to purchase.

This little rolling Repro hovers behind you. When you take fatal damage, the Repro explodes and revives you, restoring you to half your Maximum Health. Death Defy! You can collect as many of these as you can afford, but only three will visibly trail behind you at a time. Where do the others go?

Crisis Lifebank

"Stores extra health for when you need it most."

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase.

This convenient little Repro will float behind you, conveniently (or inconveniently) picking up health which drops on the ground and storing it in its own personal reserve. When you fall below 25% health, the little guy will try to get as close as possible and explode, releasing half of what it picked up in a massive burst of rejuvenating pickups! It's nice, but not when it's stealing health drops which you might want to use now. Either way, it's the next best thing to an E-Tank.

However, the CBRC has noticed that this Repro doesn't actually exist. Despite information stating otherwise, this Repro does not seem to appear in any run, but may sometimes appear in the rightmost Soul Chip shop. The removal of this augment wasn't written in any edition of the Future Technology Information Booklet, so its sudden absence is quite bizarre.

Passive Augments 11 - 1.1 Stuff!

Static Clicklets

Wallcling Active
"Cling to walls! [UP to cling]"

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 10 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Unleash the power of the spider within you with the Static Clicklets! When you move onto a wall, you'll have the power to cling to it instead of sliding down. To cling, simply hold the UP button. Gravity will be sufficiently defied to your liking. Now you can make those precise lemon shots easier than ever!

Vitaboost

+1 Maximum Health, +1 Maximum Energy, +1 Armour (+1 Armour for every Armour Spreader)
"+1 Max HP, Max NRG, and Armor!"

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 18 Nuts to purchase.

A delicious blend of health and energy, with some bonus armour for dessert. It's no Contractor Plus, but for anyone who wants a little extra survivability, you can't go wrong with a Vitaboost.

Thorned Hull

HP boosts damage!
"Attack damage scales up with Health!"

Costs 17 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Strong as the mountain! When wearing the Thorned Hull, you will gain +1 Attack Strength for every 4 Health (not Maximum Health) you currently have. While it provides a mighty boost to those at full vitality, it could leave you feeling a little weak whenever you take a bit of a beating. Stay on top to stay.. extra on top! .. Yeah. I can slogan.

Juiced Reserves

NRG boosts damage!
"Power damage scales up with Energy!"

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ?? Nuts to purchase.

Similar to the Thorned Hull, this aug grants +1 Power Strength for every 4 Energy (not Maximum Energy) you currently have. It's a powerful buff for those with large energy pools, but remember that using your Powers expends your energy - thus reducing the bonus of Juiced Reserves. Not for those who struggle with recharging their batteries!

Spicy Incense

+1 Attack Strength! (Repeats every level)
"+1 Attack Damage per level and also now."

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

The Attack Strength equivalent of Pure Flame. It may start off as a weak bonus, but for every level you conquer, your strength grows stronger. By exactly 1 point, unless you carry multiple of these augments. Acquire one early on, and it can be a very powerful boon. Acquire one later.. and it's still basically a Strongarm Band, so it's still pretty useful either way.

Fortune Stabiliser

Fortune Stabilised
"Shops and slots always spawn! Starts next level."

Costs 22 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Do you ever get that feeling where you've amassed a considerable fortune of nuts or tokens, but the shops or slots are nowhere to be seen? With the power of the Fortune Stabiliser, you too can manipulate the very fabric of reality itself and cause both a slot machine and a shop to always appear in every level. Buy now!

Patchwork Connector

Patchwork Online
"Set requirements reduced by one piece."

Costs 40 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 60 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Sometimes, it's really hard to get four Core Augmentations of the same set. RNG can be extremely cruel at times, and just when you beat a Glory Zone, excited to get a pair of Owlhawk's Feather to complete your set... the game decides to hate you and gives you Oxjack boots instead. The Patchwork Connector makes that a whole lot less painful, allowing you to get a set bonus with only three parts of a set. It could make for some interesting combinations, too! Hypercharge with Armatort's Pound, anyone?

Passive Augments 12 - 1.2 Stuff!
Leafpetal

+2 Run Speed, +1 Jump Height
"Become slightly speedier!"

Costs 9 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase.

A simple speed boost in both the horizontal and vertical directions. It's cheap, it's plentiful, and it's effective. Some people may question why an aug which is only slightly superior to the Ninja Sash was accepted by The Corp. Those people usually get squished by a Rolly.

Kinetic Converter

-1 Power Strength, -2 Attack Strength, +4 Run Speed, +4 Jump Height
"Increases mobility! Reduces damage."

Costs 22 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ?? Nuts to purchase.

Exchanges a small amount of your strength for speed. It's useful if you're going so slow that you're often getting hit, but remember that you can easily overdo speed buffs. Either way, it's a very small strength loss, so it's worth considering. Just remember that slightly less damage means slightly more time spent trying to kill things.

Utilifier

+12 Maximum Energy, -5 Power Strength
"Trades Power damage for energy!"

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 15 Nuts to purchase.

Experience utility! If you like using Powers for their purposes besides just dealing damage, you may notice your energy pool dwindling quite quickly. This augment serves to prolong that eventual energy drought just long enough for you to make it through that difficult Skytemple section and reach that delicious Energy Dispenser on the other side.

Vibrofocus

-4 Maximum Energy, +4 Power Strength, +1 Maximum HP
"Trades energy for HP and Power damage!

Costs 24 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Convert your utility into raw damage! Sometimes you have too much energy, and not enough killing power. The Vibrofocus has come to solve that problem. While it's essentially just an inverted Utilifier, there are more benefits. Like the bonus bit of health, and the much lower Energy loss. It's also more expensive.

Boltdash

Boltdash Online
"Complete dashes more quickly!"

Costs 18 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ?? Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Boosts both your dash and dash-jump speed by 25%! You don't get increased distance on your dash though, you just complete the dash faster. The speed increase can be quite heavy, especially if you have a lot of Run Speed - so try not to go overboard with it. Beginner Contractors can easily get overwhelmed by this if they've acquired just a single Hypersash. Use with caution.

Zookeeper's Zeal

Repro Speed Up
"They'll do what they must."

Costs 27 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Whip your robotic army into shape with an augment that is probably too mean for its own good. Either way, results are results. Your Repros will fire 25% faster, which essentially allows them to scale just like you can, when you acquire the Zephyr augment. I'm not sure if they'll be happy about their newfound firing speed, though...

Splintering Twinifier

Twinifier Online
"Twinifies future repros."

Costs 35 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 35 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

What's better than a single Repro? Two, of course! When twinified, any future Repro you acquire will actually be two! They can both level up just as normal, even if you got them before you got the Twinifier. As an example, if you had a Level 2 Murderdrone and got another one with the Twinifier, you'll then have a Level 3 Murderdrone and also a Level 1 Murderdrone. Nice!

Passive Augments 13 - 1.3 Stuff!

Armorall

+3 Armour, +1 Maximum Energy, +1 Run Speed
(+1 Armour for every Armour Spreader)
"Grants speed, energy, and armor."

Costs 13 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

A simple spray to boost your armour reserves, with a hint of energy and acceleration to boot. It's not quite as powerful as Armor Bloom, but it's also not quite as rare either. It might be simple, but it'll protect you in a pinch.

Intensifier

Charge Boost Up
"Charged attacks deal bonus damage!"

Costs 23 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ? Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Power up your charged shots! With an increased +20% bonus damage per charge level, nothing will stand in your way! ... So long as it doesn't have more health than a 220%-damage charged shot, anyway. Which, with enough attack upgrades, should be nothing except bosses.

Deconstructor's Might

Deconstructor Online
"" (I'm not lazy, I swear)

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ? Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Pocket power of the Juiced Force Nova! While not quite as good as its Power-ful counterpart, enemies still deal a good 10 damage when they die next to another enemy. Unfortunately the damage doesn't increase with damage boosts, but it's more than enough for dealing with groups of Flapps.

Unflappable

Unflappable!
"Become immune to Flapp-based damage!"

Costs 15 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 25 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Sometimes, Flapps can be the bane of a Contractor's existance. Between the floating vertical sections of Skytemple or the cramped corridors of Agnisort, Flapps have a habit of catching even the most experienced Contractor off-guard. This augment protects you from Flapp damage and stops them from using their special moves, they'll simply harmlessly fly besides you and occasionally run into your weapons fire. Neat! (DISCLAIMER: Will not protect a Contractor from the rage of Eternal Star.)

Cranial Resonator

Head Resonator Online
"Increases the effects of equipped Head Cores."

Costs 28 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs ? Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Intensify your Intellect! This Resonator powers up any head-related Core Aug which you currently have equipped, but it does nothing without a Core Aug to enhance. When Head Cores already contain powerful utility effects, enhancing them and making them even more powerful seems like a mighty tempting option. Detailed descriptions of each effect can be found in the Core Augments section.

Case Resonator

Body Resonator Online
"Increases the effects of equipped Body Cores."

Costs 22 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 35 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Strengthen your Soul! Similar to the Cranial Resonator, but for Body Core Augs. Naturally, it still does nothing without a Core Aug to upgrade. Body Cores tend to have defensive or healing effects, so increasing their effectiveness might be quite handy if you wish to keep those health reserves topped off. Plus, this one's cheaper than the others, too.

Force Resonator

Arms Resonator Online
"Increases the effects of equipped Arm Cores."

Costs 35 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 60 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Magnify your Munitions! It's another Resonator, but this time for Arm Core Augs. (Seeing a pattern here?) Arm Cores usually contain effects which boost a Contractor's offensive power, allowing them to dish out more damage or recover energy. While this augment might be expensive, it will definitely be the boon of anyone wise enough to pick one up... so long as they have an Arm Core Aug equipped, of course.

Kinetic Resonator

Legs Resonator Online
"Increases the effects of equipped Leg Cores."

Costs 42 Soul Chips to unlock. Costs 60 Nuts to purchase. Doesn't stack.

Augment your Agility! The final of the Resonators, the Kinetic Resonator augments any Leg Core Aug you have equipped. This normally happens in the form of granting them an extra midair use or increasing the movement speed of their effect. While this augment can be expensive, its effects are not to be underestimated. That extra midair mobility might be just what you need!

Prototype Augments 1
These augments are weird items acquired from Very Safe Laboratories, special rooms with a sinister atmosphere, offering immense power... at an immense cost.

Brutish Augmentation

x1.5 Attack Strength
Max Energy set to Zero, Powers Disabled

"Cast your powers aside. Embrace your primal power."

You gain a considerable boost to Attack Strength.. at the cost of being able to use Powers. You lose all your Max Energy, and even if you had Powers to use, you lose the ability to cast them. Powerless! If you think you can Buster down every enemy, then what do you have to lose? Acquiring System Restore will restore your lost Energy, and allow you to cast Powers again.

Consuming Fury

+2 Attack Strength, +2 Power Strength (Repeats every level)
Agony on level up (-2 Maximum Health per level)

"The flame that shines brightest..."

Essentially, this augment gives you a cascading boost to both Attack Strength and Power Strength, with the catch being that you lose 2 Maximum Health every level. The Augment will never kill you, however - you'll always be left with at least 1 Maximum Health. Acquiring System Restore will prevent the drain on your Maximum Health, but does not restore any that was lost.

Earthmetal Plating

Attack Strength reduced to 0, Power Strength reduced to 0
Gain 1 Maximum Health and Maximum Energy per Strength lost

"Become one with the planet. May reduce output."

Your damage output is reset to the basics, but whatever you lose is converted to both Maximum Health and Energy. If you can handle dealing noodle damage again (or you have Hoarder's Might, Thorned Hull or Juiced Reserves which are oddly exempt from this), this may be a powerful boon indeed. However, experienced Contractors may agree that the damage output is more important than health. Acquiring System Restore will, of course, restore any lost Strength.

Final Shell

Maximum Health set to 1
Gain 2 Armour per Maximum Health lost

"Incredible protection shields the frailest core."

A blessing and a curse. You lose basically all your Maximum Health, but it gets converted to double the armour. Also note that taking damage to armour does not provide knockback like damage to health would. Note that as soon as your impressive armour pool runs out, you're left with a very crippled health pool... here's hoping you find some Maximum Health augs (or beat the game) before that happens. Acquiring System Restore will recover any lost Maximum Health.

Focusing Sagelens

POWER OVERWHELMING! (2.0x Power Strength) (Really correct this time.)
Attack Strength set to -18

"Unlock true wisdom. Set aside your savage nature."

Pretty much entirely lose your ability to attack with regular Primary weapons.. for the ability to completely and utterly destroy absolutely everything ever with Powers. If you've managed to acquire gear which allows you to play with Powers alone, this can be your best friend! But if not.. best not think about it. Acquiring System Restore will restore all lost Attack Strength.

Interesting Times

Interesting times... (Random buff on level start)
(Random debuff on level start)

"Ebb and flow with the times..."

Every level, two random stats get temporarily modified - for better and for worse. This effects increases based on your level progress - for example, it's a +8/-8 change on Level 8. Any main stat can be affected, including Run Speed, Jump Height, Attack Strength, Power Strength, Maximum Health and Maximum Energy. The effects of this Prototype wear off once you beat the level, ready for a different modifier on the next. Acquiring System Restore will remove the random debuff on each level, but you'll retain the random buff.

Sanity Converter

2.0x Power Strength (+1 Power Strength per Power cast)
Your sanity slips.. (-1 Maximum Energy per Power cast)

"Powers consume maximum energy and deal immense damage."

An interesting augment. Your Powers deal far more damage than they normally deal and deal increasingly more as you use them, but every time you cast a Power, you lose Maximum Energy instead. If you use Powers sparingly, this augment can be very useful... but if you're like me and use powers a lot, the cons far outweigh the pros. Acquiring System Restore removes the Maximum Energy loss and Power Strength gain on using Powers, but does not recover any lost Maximum Energy.

Uncharging Force

+7 Attack Strength
Charging Disabled

"Gain incredible strength. Never hold it in again."

A rather significant boost to Attack Damage at the cost of your charge attacks. This item really depends on who you're playing as - as Ace, this item is very useful as your attacks have decent range and piercing anyway. As Nina, however.. your charge shots are the only things that can pierce through enemies, and giving those up can be completely devastating when dealing with large groups. Acquiring System Restore expectedly restores the ability to charge your attacks again.

Prototype Augments 2
Violence Enhancer

+5 Power Strength, +5 Attack Strength
Violence consumes you. Your sanity slips.

"Damage massively increased. For everyone."

You get decent damage boosts to both Primary attacks and Powers.. but as a result, makes you take double damage yourself. It's useful if you're great at avoiding damage.. but if you're not, the augment will do FAR more harm than good. Acquiring System Restore will cause you to no longer take double damage.

Defiant Decree

No guts, no glory. (Bosses drop 2 chests)
(Bosses gain 50% HP)

"Bosses gain +50% HP and grant 2 chests."

Who likes a challenge?! With this prototype, bosses will provide greater challenge, having a severely increased health pool.. but they'll also drop one extra chest as a reward. If you can deal with having to fight bosses for a bit longer, this prototype provides nothing but good! Acquiring System Restore will return bosses to their normal health amount.

Zookeeper's Burden

Behold, the menagerie! (Grants every Repro)
(Powers Locked, Primary Weapon Jammed)

"All attacking and Powers disabled. Gain one of each Repro."

If you like Repros, this prototype is right up your alley - picking it up will grant you one of every Repro, even The Rebeginner! Although if you're playing multiplayer, you will not get a Skittery Smuggler. The downside to this, though, is that you can't ever attack. You're going full-on pacifist, buddy. Let your friends do all the work. Acquiring System Restore will enable you to use your weapons and Powers again.

Contractor Beta

+2 Maximum Health, +2 Maximum Energy, +2 Attack Strength, +2 Power Strength, +2 Run Speed, +2 Jump Height, Damage Scales with Health

"Boosts all your abilities. Stay healthy, friend."

Power up! +2 everything, and you get a scaling multiplier to your attack stats as well! At full health, this is a whopping 1.2x multiplier - making you far more powerful than you ever were before! However, as your health depletes, so does the multiplier... to a minimum of 30% when you're at 0 health. (Not that it's possible to be at 0 health...) Acquiring System Restore will lock the minimum stat multiplier to 100%, so you'll only get a benefit. You still need a fairly high health percentage to get the boost, but at least you don't get the penalty any more.

Kingseeker

Bathe in glory...

"Boss kills heal to full. No other healing."

Be restored to full health every time you defeat a boss! But that's the only time when you restore health. Health pickups can no longer be collected and you cannot interact with health dispensers. Other forms of health restoration (ie: Dracopent's Pride, Health Nut) also fail to function. Acquiring System Restore will allow you to pick up health again, as well as enabling restoration augs to perform their noble duty.

However, the CBRC has currently noticed some bugs with this Prototype Augmentation, some beneficial and others detrimental. Regular small health pickups will no longer drop from anything except the Boss Chest and Bonus Chest, though large health pickups are not affected. (If you have friends, this may prove a problem.) Also, the healing effects of Armatort's Dome and Restorative Plating are unaffected. (We're still looking into Blue Lander and Vitality Scavenger, though.) More research may be required.

Hysteria

Uncontrollable Power...

"Gain dizzying powers from future augs!"

Double effects from all future Aug pickups! Find a Bracer of Battle? Now you get +10 Attack Strength instead of +5! Of course, this comes with a considerable downside in that you now take triple damage. Amusingly, even non-stackable augs can be duplicated by this Prototype, with some interesting (and occasionally glitchy) results. This, amusingly, includes System Restore. Have fun. (Do note, however, that this Aug does not multiply other Prototype Augments.) Acquiring System Restore will remove the triple damage intake, leaving you free to reap double augments without any worry.

Vitality Partitioner

Maximum Health Halved (rounded down)
Gain 3 Maximum Energy per Maximum Health lost

"Optimally partitions your vitality."

Ever get those runs where you just become an unstoppable tank who can get hit a lot.. but you have no energy to cast your precious Powers? No? Well, this Prototype helps you deal with that hypothetical situation. With the unique power of Health Editing (patent pending), you can now partition your vitality into precious, precious energy. Now you can cast all the Powers you want! Acquiring System Restore's will restore all lost maximum health.

Patchwork Integrator

Become the Tapestry
(0.6x Attack Strength, 0.6x Power Strength)

"Give of yourself, and become the Tapestry."

Sometimes, you get those runs where you only get two or three pieces of your favourite Core Aug set. Sometimes, you get those runs where you're split between two sets and don't want to pick between either one. Sometimes, you get those runs where even though you have a full set available to you, you REALLY don't want to give up Dracopent’s Bound. Enter: Patchwork Integrator! For the low, low cost of 40% of your damage output, you can reduce the requirements for a Core Aug set bonus by two pieces! Easy set bonuses are at your fingertips, and you may even be able to make use of two at once! Do note though that this effect doesn't stack with Patchwork Connector. No single-core sets here. Acquiring System Restore will restore your Attack and Power Strength back to normal.

Primary Weapon Information
These are the weapons which replace your Primary Attack key, and are usually your normal means of attack.

By holding the ATTACK button, you're able to charge your Primary Weapon. Releasing when fully charged will unleash an attack with double damage and a larger hitbox.

Ranged "projectile" type weapons are exclusively used by Nina, while melee "blade" type weapons are exclusively used by Ace. If you're playing multiplayer and find a weapon used by a different character to yours, you will be unable to pick it up. (But normally, you find primary weapons in sets of two in multiplayer anyway, one for each character.)

By default, your Attack Strength is 10. Item pickups will modify this number, which then gets multiplied by your Primary Weapon's attack modifier to determine your final damage.

Primary Weapons - Nina

N-Buster

1.0x Attack Multiplier
"Basic buster."

Unlocked from the start. Nina's starting weapon.

Fires suspiciously lemon-shaped projectiles forward in a straight line. This weapon will not fire when three projectiles are on the screen at once, though for every Zephyr augment collected, increase the amount of shots by two. Charging this weapon fires a much larger bullet capable of piercing through enemies if the shot kills.

Forkalator

0.8x Attack Multiplier (0.2x per extra Multihit Shot)
"Triangle shot! Forkalicious."

Unlocked from the start. Appears in diamond chests for Nina and Draco.

Shoots three large projectiles at once - forwards, diagonally up and diagonally down. While this doesn't deal quite as much damage as the N-Buster, it makes up for it with it's larger cone of fire, allowing Nina to attack at an angle without the help of Powers. You can even walk right up to an enemy to hit them with all three bullets for a total of 1.2x damage! This weapon can only fire 3 bursts of projectiles at once, and will not fire more until at least one proejctile from a previous burst have dissipated. Zephyr, of course, allows you to fire 2 more bursts.

Star Beam

0.8x Attack Multiplier (0.2x per extra Multihit Shot)
"Nina shoots in all four cardinal directions!"

Unlocked from the start. Appears in diamond chests for Nina and Draco.

Fires four projectiles at once, in a plus formation. Worry less about aiming, and more about dodging with this weapon. While the attack damage is slightly weakened, the ability to aim in all four directions easily makes up for it. You can even walk right up to an enemy to hit them with all four bullets for a total of 1.4x damage! Will not fire when 3 bursts of projectiles are on the screen at once, +2 for every Zephyr collected.

Scatterblast

0.4x Attack Multiplier
"Hyperparticles devastate targets up close!"

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Appears in diamond chests for Nina and Draco.

This weapon basically turns Nina into Ace, firing a short-range shotgun blast of six projectiles (2.4x damage total) to devastate enemies. Charging the weapon increases the range of the blasts slightly along with granting +2 bullets per level of charge. Note that unlike other weapons, this weapon isn't restricted by how many bullets are visible, but has a limited rate of fire instead. The Zephyr augment extends the rate of fire of your shotgun blasts as a result. You also get considerable vertical range, similar to the Forkalator.

Wave Beam

1.0x Attack Multiplier
"Megaparticles pierce foes and walls! Also, wavy."

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Appears in diamond chests for Nina and Draco.

This is essentially identical to the N-Buster, but the shots move in a sine-wave formation and can go through walls. The bullets are also somewhat larger to accomodate for the hard-to-aim projectiles. Additionally, unlike the N-Buster, charged shots fired from this weapon will always pierce through enemies, and have increased amplitude and wavelength! (For normal folk, that means "it's wavier and harder to aim") Just remember that the bullets always flow downwards first, even when you're upside-down! Also identical to the N-Buster, this weapon will not fire when 3 bullets are on-screen at once, +2 for each Zephyr collected.

Primary Weapons - Ace
A-Saber

1.2x Attack Multiplier (1st & 2nd swing) 2.0x (3rd swing)
Charge Power: +100%
"Basic blade."

Unlocked from the start. Ace's starting weapon.

A very versatile blade with a three-swing combo with considerable vertical and horizontal range. While technically one of Ace's weakest weapons, this weapon makes up for its lesser damage with fast swings, overhead arcs and 2.0x Attack Damage on the third hit of the combo. Not a weapon to be underestimated.

Sharp Sharp Spear

1.5x Attack Multiplier (1st swing) 1.8x (2nd swing)
Charge Power: +50%
"Grants additional reach and damage!"

Unlocked from the start. Appears in diamond chests for Ace and Draco.

A nicely damaging weapon with very long horizontal range, but limited vertical range. The spear pierces through enemies horizontally, allowing you to clear a long line of enemies in a single strike. It's superb range and immense damage makes it a great weapon for Ace, allowing him to stay out of danger while dishing out maximum punishment.

Plasma Blender

1.0x Attack Multiplier
Charge Power: +37.5*% (???)
"Shreds enemies up-close!"

Unlocked from the start. Appears in diamond chests for Ace and Draco.

A short-ranged weapon which attacks extremely fast. This weapon cannot be charged, and also reduces Ace's vertical range somewhat. However, this weapon fires MUCH faster than Ace's other primary weapons, and temporarily increases in both power and range whenever Ace deals damage to an enemy. When charged to a certain size in this way, each attack will function like a charge shot for purposes of Core Augment bonuses. Another thing to note is that hitting a boss with this weapon will give the boss a noticably reduced invulnerability period, allowing you to attack it a lot faster than normal.

Spinning Glaive

1.4x Attack Multiplier (1st, 2nd & Aerial swing) 1.6x (Landing 1st swing)
2.1x (Landing 2nd swing)
- Charge Power: +100%
"Circle slash while airborne!"

Costs 10 Soul Chips to unlock. Appears in diamond chests for Ace and Draco.

A moderately ranged weapon which sacrifices Ace's three-hit combo for increased vertical range, especially dowards. Using this weapon in the air or on a wall allows you to swing the weapon in a full circle around you. It has somewhat larger damage and range than the A-Saber, but is far slower to use on the ground. Still, when attacking enemies from all directions, this is the weapon you want.

Rippling Axe

2.5x Attack Multiplier (1st swing) 3.75x (2nd swing) 1.875x* (Aerial swing, counts as charged)
Charge Power: +100%
"Swings slowly for MASSIVE damage!"

Costs 20 Soul Chips to unlock. Appears in diamond chests for Ace and Draco.

A very difficult weapon to use. This weapon cannot be charged. Using this weapon on the ground will initiate a slow combo of two swings, the first being horizontally through Ace and the second being an overhead arc swing. The power does come at a cost, however - each swing locks Ace in place for half a second, with the only movement option available being to dash. (This doesn't happen to Draco, however.) Using this weapon in the air will have Ace swing it overhead, and then plummet directly downwards with it, losing all horizontal control. However, this attack functions like a charge shot, and any bonuses that affect charge shots will affect this attack.

Unique Weapons - Hawk (DLC)
Note: If you're playing the Console version of the game, Hawk is included as standard - you unlock her by beating the game in any mode except Rush Job.

The Siphon

1.0x Attack Multiplier (1st & 2nd swing)
Charge Power: 50%
"Recalls energy from the unworthy."

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Hawk's only primary weapon.

Hawk's weapon of choice. It may be weak, but hitting an enemy with the second swing or a charged swing will spawn an orb of energy which quickly flies to you, recovering your energy reserves. Who needs energy pickups when you can just drain your enemies instead? If you siphon multiple enemies in a single swing, you'll restore energy for every odd-numbered enemy you hit. (ie: If you hit 5 enemies in a single swing, you'll restore 3 energy.) The energy regeneration stacks too - so if you somehow manage to get a charged second hit, you'll recover 2 energy. Additionally, killing an enemy with the first swing will recover 1 energy.

This weapon also somewhat changes how the Core Aug Owlhawk's Talon works - it allows you to recover energy on your first swing without charging instead of its usual effect. Additionally, the ultracharge granted by Dracopent's Claw will also grant double energy when it hits. Other Core Augs are unchanged.

Protorifle

0.7x Power Multiplier (VS Regular Enemies)
0.42x Power Multiplier (VS Bosses)
"Fires inefficiently, slowly, and badly."

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Hawk's starting Power.

Automatically fires simple, low-damage projectiles from in front of Hawk. It fires about 8 shots per second and can fire 4 shots per pip of Energy consumed. It's really not that powerful and only really used as an emergency ranged weapon - you'll want to replace this with a proper Power as fast as you can. Even the Siphon could out-damage this thing... but at least it doesn't trigger boss invulnerability frames, similar to Vera.

Seeking Striker

2.0x Power Multiplier
"Locates your enemies, then blows them up!"

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Hawk.

Fires a rocket at Hawk's position which will quickly target the nearest enemy and fly straight towards it. It does moderate damage, but has a high rate of fire of about ~4 rockets per second. You can fire 2 rockets with a single pip of Energy. Despite it being a nice auto-aim weapon, it occasionally targets enemies which are behind walls, where it cannot reach. Quantum Spook recommended.

Blastjump

3.0x Jump Multiplier
"Explode to new heights!"

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Hawk.

A blast from the past! The Blastjump allows Hawk to produce an explosion at her feet, launching her upwards and damaging enemies near the explosion with damage that actually scales with your Jump Height stat, not Power Strength. The damage has considerable downwards reach, so don't be afraid to use it a little early if you're planning on psuedo-goomba-stomping your enemies. You can also use it multiple times in the air - with enough Zephyr augments, you could achieve straight-up flight! And you can even use it with Leg Core Augs, too.

Wildfire

4.0x Power Multiplier (Initial flask)
3.0x Power Multiplier (Flames)
"Combusts into a ground-seeking line of death!"

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Hawk.

What is a Power? They're simply tools of distruction, and this Power sure is great at doing that job. With this, you throw a small flask out infront of you which quickly falls to the ground. Once it hits something (be it enemy or floor) it explodes, sending forth a miserable pile of flames which slowly travels along the ground before dissipating. Deals very heavy damage to just about anything, and completely wrecks Soul foes and bosses alike.

World Igniter

2.0x Power Multiplier (VS Regular Enemies)
1.0x Power Multiplier (VS Bosses)
"Leave nothing but ashes!"

Unlocked with the Hawk DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Hawk.

Do you like flamethrowers? This is a flamethrower. It's short ranged, but it deals incredible damage. It fires about as fast as Vera and can be aimed in all 4 cardinal directions. Unfortunately, it chews through your energy reserves like no tomorrow, only being able to fire 2 flames for a single pip of Energy. When you're firing about 10 flames per second, that very quickly drains through your entire reserve! Though to be fair, with the extremely high damage this thing deals, your targets will be dead before you'll run out of energy, I assure you.

Primary Weapons - Draco (DLC)
Note: If you're playing the Console version of the game, Draco is included as standard - you unlock him by beating the game in any mode except Rush Job.

Draco behaves a little differently to Nina, Ace or Hawk. He can carry up to 8 Primary Weapons at a time, but only 1 Power. His Charge attacks naturally accumulate over time, being used with UP + ATTACK. He also has access to Nina and Ace's alternate Primary Weapons (but not the N-Buster or A-Saber)

Additionally, when defeating a boss, Draco has a 50% chance of getting a diamond chest reward instead of a Power - this even includes weapons that Nina and Ace can find! This makes it a little easier to stock up on Primaries, but also means that you can never guarantee access to a Power that you like...

Unstoppable Force

2.0x Attack Multiplier (1st swing) 3.0x Attack Multiplier (2nd swing)
Charge Power: 100%
"Convert your foes to dust!"

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Draco's starting weapon.

Draco's signature Melee primary weapon. This weapon has a simple two-swing combo - the first swing being a quick forward "punch", and the second swing slamming the hammer down in an overhead arc. While it behaves somewhat similarly to the Rippling Axe (minus the aerial attack), it has considerably more speed at the expense of a little range.

When a Dracocharge is used, the hammer instead unleashes a rising uppercut with immense damage, sending Draco skywards with the hammer. The uppercut can be used in the air, so you can use it as a kind of double-jump - giving Draco some very useful early-game mobility options! Just keep an eye on how many Dracocharges you currently have, okay?

Volt Edge

0.8x Attack Multiplier
Charge Power: 150%
"Truly shocking."

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Draco's starting weapon.

Draco's signature Ranged primary weapon. It fires a piercing boomerang forwards, which flies for a little while before moving skywards and then returning to the user. While its damage is low, its piercing properties allow it to hit the same enemy multiple times - including bosses! Similar to Nina's ranged weaponry, only three boomerangs can be active at a single time without any Zephyr augments.

When a Dracocharge is used, the shots become much larger and gain the ability to stun any enemy it hits. When stunned, an enemy is prevented from moving or doing any of its regular attacks for about 1 second. This should give you enough time to kill the enemy with Unstoppable Force... or any other weapon, really.

Vega

1.8x Attack Multiplier (1st, 2nd and 3rd swings)
Charge Power: 100%
"Embrace the sharp shadow!"

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Draco.

A short-ranged rapid-slashing melee weapon with similarities to the Plasma Blender. It attacks extremely fast and has limited horizontal range, but its high attack damage makes up for it somewhat. Unlike the Plasma Blender, however, Vega does not increase in damage and size as you damage enemies, and the i-frames on bosses behave like any other melee weapon.

When a Dracocharge is used, Draco charges forwards, granting him temporary invulnerability and dealing damage to any enemy hit by the dash. This attack can be used to charge through hazards like the lasers in Skytemple, too! Gotta watch how many Dracocharges you have left, though - as you don't want to be left powerless in the middle of a group of enemies! Shadow Dash, yo!

Peacebringer

1.0x Attack Multiplier (1st, 2nd and 3rd swings)
Charge Power: 50%
"Be still, and reflect."

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Draco.

A quarterstaff with moderate range and somewhat low damage. The staff can be a bit finnicky to use (with low damage-per hit and very weird hitboxes) but it has the ability to hit enemies twice per swing, which essentially means that it deals 6.0x Attack Strength per combo... although that sounds way better than it actually is.

Where this weapon shines, however, is in its charged attack. When a Dracocharge is used, the staff is spun in a circle in front of Draco, reflecting any projectile it hits and retaliating with a 5-projectile shot similar to the retaliation attacks of the Maintcore enemies. (The shielded beetles.) While the retaliation attack is limited by your shot limit (3 attacks +2 for every Zephyr), all projectiles will be blocked while the spear still spins.

Gemini

0.5x Attack Multiplier (per shot)
Charge Power: 100*%
"Fires auto-aiming twin arrows!"

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Draco.

A bow with incredible speed and range. When fired, twin arrows will fly to their target, both individually hitting an enemy for 0.5x Attack Strength each. This weapon has auto-aim capabilities, automatically firing diagonally or vertically if an enemy is in range. Similarly to the N-Buster, only three bursts of arrows can be fired at a time, with an extra two for every Zephyr augment.

When a Dracocharge is used, the two arrows fuse into one and gain double damage. (That's 2.0x Attack Strength total!) This arrow is fired like the regular arrows - but if it hits and kills an enemy, it'll seek out the next target, which can cause a continuous chain reaction if the arrow kills multiple targets. Great for taking out large groups of weak enemies!

Rapture

1.2x Attack Multiplier
Charge Power: 50%
"Well. It's a bubble, I guess."

Unlocked with the Draco DLC. Appears in diamond chests for Draco.

Fires an arcing projectile which has a similar trajectory to Mortar. While it can be difficult to use, its increased base damage and non-standard firing angle makes it great for taking care of enemies in difficult places, like on ledges or stuck in holes. This weapon's more useful for its vertical reach rather than its horizontal power.

When a Dracocharge is used, the weapon instead fires a dense orb forwards which pierces through enemies similarly to the Quint Laser... but doesn't deal nearly as much damage. However, where the charged attack shines is that the orb can be used as a platform, letting Draco stand on it to recharge his Leg Core. It also blocks projectiles, too!

Powers
By default, your Power Strength is +0, which is equivalent to 10. Item pickups will modify this number, which then gets multiplied by your Power's attack modifier to determine your final damage.

Boomerang Blade

2.0x Power Multiplier (4.0x VS Death Lotus)
"Throws an 8-directional blade!"

Drops from Rollster.

This weapon fires a spinning blade which can be fired in eight directions by simply holding the movement direction you want to fire before firing. After going certain distance, the blade comes back, like a boomerang. The blade pierces through enemies and can hit the same enemy multiple times - hit an enemy just before the edge of the blade's travel distance for maximum damage! This weapon can also be very handy simply because it gives you the ability to attack enemies directly above and below you. Just note that when firing up or down, the projectile appears from your cannon, not your centre. You can also fire this weapon at any distant pickup to collect it remotely - doing this also refunds its casting cost!

Flameshield

2.0x Power Multiplier (4.0x VS Rollster)
"Flames encircle you, blocking slots and slaying foes!"

Drops from the Twin Astrals.

This weapon "fires" four fireballs which orbit around you anti-clockwise. These fireballs continuously orbit you until they hit a single projectile or an enemy, and then they dissipate. As the name implies, this weapon acts more like a shield, as it can block projectiles. Each individual fireball will last until the end of a level, if they don't collide with anything - making it a cheap and permanent shield if you play well. Additionally, the Flameshield can protect from Frostor's icicle turrets without dissipating.

Mortar

4.0x Power Multiplier (8.0x VS Vile Visage)
40 Flat Damage (Explosion) (40 VS Vile Visage) (Bug?)
"Fires an arcing blast that explodes on contact!"

Drops from Death Lotus.

Fires an arcing projectile which initially flies diagonally upwards, but quickly falls down. When the projectile hits an enemy or the floor, it explodes, dealing AoE damage to anything around the explosion. Additionally, if the projectile hits an enemy that it can kill in one shot (ie: Flapps), the projectile pierces right through and does not explode until it hits something which impedes its path. This weapon also has special properties in Frostor, being able to home in on and take down the Hive hazards in a single hit, as well as piercing through any enemy shields.

Force Nova

3.0x Power Multiplier (3.0x VS Eternal Star)
0.75x Power Multiplier (Black Flapp Explosion) (No Invulnerability Frames)
"Release a shockwave, crushing foes and blocking shots!"

Drops from Vile Visage.

This is more a defensive power than an offensive one. Using this power causes you to produce a shockwave from yourself, destroying projectiles and dealing damage to everything around you in a moderate radius. This power can be very helpful in a pinch or when lots of enemies are in an enclosed area. Small enemies (like Flapps) tend to be one-shot by this power - however, larger enemies require a little more work. Like two shots. This weapon is very useful in Skytemple, as not only does it disable the laser generators, but it also reacts very violently to Eternal Star's Flapps...

Powers 2

Shadespur

2.0x Power Multiplier (4.0x VS The Perforator)
"A jagged crystal inherits your momentum to smash foes."

Drops from Eternal Star.

This weapon fires a sharp crystal which pierces through both enemies and walls. In order to fire it, you must be moving in the direction which you want the projectile to go. The projectile will move at twice the speed that you were going when firing the projectile. With enough momentum, this can be fired REALLY far! It can be a bit tricky to use, but it can be useful for hitting enemies beyond walls and in large groups. Similar to the Boomerang Blade, this weapon can also hit multiple times in one shot. Additionally, if this weapon hits any of the dissapearing platforms in Vaculab, they will be locked in place and become permanently active.

Quint Laser

5.0x Power Multiplier (10.0x VS Shatterbeak)
"The bullet is enormous. There is no escaping."

Drops from Kur.

This weapon launches a large square of light which very slowly travels forwards. It deals massive damage and also pierces through any enemy it kills. This weapon can also be charged twice to increase the hitbox, speed and damage the weapon deals - damage is increased by 50% for each charge level. Do note that charging increases the Energy cost of the weapon. The immense damage can be very useful for defeating bosses quickly or getting rid of particularly tricky enemies. If the laser hits a vending machine at maximum charge, it gets destroyed and spills out its contents... and maybe even more, if you have a Vendsmasher.

Splinterfrost

4.0x Power Multiplier (Direct Hit) (7.2x? VS The Twin Astrals)
2.0x Power Multiplier (Shards) (3.6x? VS The Twin Astrals)
"Launch a jagged ice shard that fans out on contact."

Drops from Shatterbeak.

This weapon fires a large crystal with high velocity. It can be aimed diagonally up and down, as well as being able to be fired forwards. When the crystal hits an enemy or wall, it shatters - producing a shotgun semicircle of smaller crystals back in the opposite direction. With good aim, this weapon can easily take out multiple targets - or even particularly powerful targets - with a single shot. In Agnisort, the Splinterfrost gains an additional function - if a fired crystal hits one of the flame turrets, it becomes frozen and unable to fire.

Vera

0.6x Power Multiplier (VS Regular Enemies)
0.3x Power Multiplier (VS Bosses) (0.1x VS Kur, 3.0x VS Kur's Quint Laser)
"Shoots mostly straight, and super fast."

Drops from The Perforator.

This weapon rapid-fires tiny projectiles, which each individually deal a small piece of damage. Where this weapon shines, however, is its ability to ignore boss invulnerability frames, even against bosses that aren't weak to the weapon. This weapon can also be aimed directly up and down, and the user can even fly when firing it downwards. Just watch your energy meter though, as this weapon can be a HUGE energy hog. This weapon also has the ability to reflect Kur's Quint Lasers back at him, them too bypassing invulnerability frames.

Core Augments - Armatort
Core Augments are items which upgrade the core of your character. You have four Core Augment slots: Head, Body, Arms and Legs. Only one of each type can be equipped at any one time, and each provides rather large bonuses.

Collect all four of a single set, and you'll get a super powerful set bonus!

Armatort's Dome

Armorscoop Online
"Core (Head): Health pickups might grant armor!"

Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

When you grab a health pickup, there's a small chance that it might grant armour. The chance is greater when your health is full, and is also greater for larger health pickups. You also get a small chance to recover health any time you pick up armour. This Core does let you use health pickups even when your health is full though, so be mindful of your multiplayer friends.

With the Cranial Resonator equipped, the bonus health and armour effects are intensified - whenever the effect would proc, you now get 2 armour/health instead of 1.

Armatort's Shell

Knockback Resistor Online
"Core (Body): Grants immunity to knockback!"

Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Knockback resistance! Simple, but effective. When you get hit, you won't take any knockback and can continue on your merry way. Very useful when you're trying to dodge attacks over pits, especially in Sky Temple and Frostor! It's less useful when you have armour though, as armour has natural knockback resistance.

Plus, with the Case Resonator, the defensive powers of this Core improve with a completely new effect! If you take damage with armour on, there's a 50% chance of completely shrugging it off and taking no damage at all. Talk about some good armour!

Armatort's Pound

Shot Eraser Online, +2 Attack Strength, +2 Power Strength
"Core (Arms): Your charged attacks vaporize enemy shots!"

Costs 40 Nuts to purchase.

Charge your attacks for a projectile-clearing super shot! It works similarly to the Minimech O' Grinder in that enemy attacks just get completely erased from existance while your shot is unaffected. Works best for Nina's projectiles, but Ace and Hawk can get some good use out of it too.

Equip the Force Resonator and the projectile-cleaving abilities get even stronger - triggering on all forms of attack, not just charged attacks! Spam those lemons and nothing will be able to touch you! (Unless it attacks with melee. This Core Aug does not protect from melee.)

Armatort's Momentum

Short Hover Online
"Core (Legs): 2 second hover! (Tap JUMP while in midair/again to cancel)"

Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

The power of flight! Well, it's not really flight, it's more just staying in place in the air. Either way, you'll be able to hold yourself in the air for 2 seconds, which is long enough that any danger that's on the floor will probably have moved by the time your hover juice runs out. Very useful when waiting for moving platforms to get into the right place! Also very useful with weapons like the Spinning Glaive.

The Kinetic Resonator ehances the power of flight by also granting it the power to go fast. The speed of the hover gets increased by 50%, and you even get an extra second of hover time. Just be warned that the higher speed might make it harder to make precision movements, which is what this Leg Core kind of excelled at originally.

Armatort, the Unstoppable (Set Bonus)

Hazardshield Online
"No damage from falling or spikes!"

The Set Bonus allows you to become immune to any stationary stage hazard! This includes lasers, spikes and lava. Be careful when dealing with bottomless pits, fire shooters or icicle shooters though, as they still hurt you.

Core Augments - Dracopent
Dracopent's Fang

Chargestore Online
"Core (Head): Charging up boosts your next attack, too!"

Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

It's a buy one get one free sale on charged shots today! Whenever you fire a charged shot, your next attack will also be a charged shot, even if you didn't charge it. Makes short work of both enemies and bosses. Very useful when combined with effects which interact with charged shots, too. As Draco, you instead gain an extra Dracocharge.

Additionally, with a Cranial Resonator, your stored charge shots increase to two! Perfect if you really need to fire three charged shots in quick succession. As Draco, you instead gain an additional Dracocharge, for a total of +2.

Dracopent's Pride

Lifesteal Online
"Core (Body): Attack kills might restore health!"

Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Kill enemies with your Primary Weapon, get health. Kills with Powers do not grant health. It's only a 8% chance to trigger, so don't expect it to activate whenever you're in a pinch. Still, it's nice to get some extra healies every now and again, especially when you're dealing with swarms of Flapps.

Case Resonator simply enhances the lifestealing powers. Whenever the lifesteal would normally proc, you instead gain 2 health instead of 1. It's still only an 8% proc chance, but at least you're healing in large chunks whenever it happens now.

Dracopent's Claw

Ultracharge Online, +4 Attack Strength
"Core (Arms): Charge your attacks even chargier!"

Costs 40 Nuts to purchase.

The Ultracharge lets you charge your attacks to the next level! That's the third level, if you weren't paying attention. Ultracharged attacks tend to deal triple damage and in Nina's case, have bigger hitboxes to boot. Synergises extremely well with Dracopent's Fang, as it'll let you fire two Ultracharged shots. As Draco, you gain an Ultracharge whenever your Dracocharges reach full instead.

The Force Resonator augments this power to an even greater degree - any time you would normally fire a regular charged shot, an ultracharged shot is fired instead! And yes, before you ask, this applies to the set bonus too. Enjoy! As Draco, this instead Ultracharges all of your Dracocharges, as opposed to just one.

Dracopent's Bound

Bonus Jump Online
"Core (Legs): Double Jump!"

Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

Yesssss. When you're in the air, you can jump again! Your double jump is only at half the height of your regular jump, but it's still some much wanted vertical mobility regardless. The bonus height can be used to reach platforms which are just out of your way or just for a little more not-being-on-the-floor time. The effect is boosted with more Jump Height.

Plus, with a Kinetic Resonator your double-jump powers get boosted into triple-jump powers! Jump, jump and jump again! Nothing was out of reach with the double jump, and that's triply so now! Just try to keep track on how many jumps you've done before landing, as it definitely isn't infinite.

Dracopent, the Foul (Set Bonus)

Hypercharge Online
"All attacks are charged!"

This Set Bonus makes all your regular shots into charged shots! You can still charge your shots if you want an Ultracharge if you want, but charging to regular levels will do nothing extra. Even still, bigger projectiles and double damage. Know true power! As Draco, you instead gain +3 Dracocharges, which stacks with other bonuses.

Core Augments - Owlhawk
Owlhawk's Focus

Energy Conservator Online
"Core (Head): 50% of Powers cast FREE!"

Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Cast powers for half the cost! This essentially doubles your Maximum Energy on average, and energy pickups become all the more useful. Don't be afraid to use Powers with this Core working on your side! Or, more specifically, on your head. A personal favourite of mine.

Cranial Resonator further enhances this power, increasing the chance of a free Power cast to 66%. At this point, casting Powers pretty much has no cost - so feel free to spam them as much as you see fit! (Okay, it has 33% cost, but who's counting?)

Owlhawk's Reign

Powerkill Lifesteal Online
"Core (Body): Power kills might restore health!"

Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

Kill enemies with Powers, get health. Kills with your Primary Weapon do not grant health. It's only a 10% chance to trigger, so don't expect it to activate whenever you're low on health. Still, bonus healing is nice. Plus, if you're at full health, the healing can get converted into energy with a Spillover Matrix augment.

The Case Resonator simply enhances the powerkill lifestealing powers. Whenever the lifesteal would normally proc, you now get two health instead of one. It's still only a 10% chance and still only happens on Power kills, but at least you're getting a lot more health on the rare chance that it does trigger.

Owlhawk's Talon

Energy Siphon Online, +4 Power Strength
"Core (Arms): Your attack kills might restore energy!"

Costs 40 Nuts to purchase.

Enemies killed with your Primary Weapon will occasionally grant energy! It's got a decent 15% trigger rate too, so you'll be regenerating fairly often if you're using your Primary to deal with weaker enemies like Flapps. Infinite energy, so long as there are enemies to kill! As Hawk, the Siphon instead gain the ability to recover energy from your first swing of the combo.

With the Force Resonator, the energy-siphoning powers of this Arm Core get improved to a greater degree. Whenever that lucky 15% chance procs, you now restore two energy instead of just one. Juicy!

Owlhawk's Feather

Short Fly Online
"Core (Legs): 1 second fly! (Tap JUMP while in midair/again to cancel)"

Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

Now THIS is the power of flight! For a single second, you're able to perfectly manoeuvre yourself in the air. Need to get height? You can do that. Need to wait for a platform to arrive? You can do that. Need to move quickly? Ehhhhh... The limited flight time does make it feel like the "Jack of all Trades, Master of None" of the Leg Cores, though. Either way, you get to be the Jack of all the Trades, not just one.

However, the limited flight speed is improved with a Kinetic Resonator, becoming 50% stronger! The Jack of all Trades of Leg Cores just became a lot more potent. Not only can you fly in any direction, you can now do it pretty quickly, too. Still lasts only one second, though.

Owlhawk, the Wise (Set Bonus)

Juiced Powers Online!
"Powers are juiced TO THE MAX!"

Your Powers become Super Powers! Each Power has their own unique effect when Juiced - some fire extra projectiles, some deal increased damage, some just get plain larger and some have a completely unique effect. Experimentation is key!

Core Augments - Oxjack
Oxjack's Ken

Boltdash Activated
"Core (Head): Dashbolt activate -- dashing fires a powerful blast!"

Costs 20 Nuts to purchase.

Time to go fast and destroy anything that's in your way! With the power of the Dashbolt, every dash you do will cause you to fire a fast projectile in the dash's direction, piercing through enemies and dealing extra damage. It ignores boss i-frames, too! The damage it deals scales with your Run Speed stat - the faster you go, the more damage you'll deal! (Specifically, it deals 15 damage + 3x your Run Speed stat)

With the Cranial Resonator, the Dashbolt further increases its power. Dashing now fires a wall of three dashbolts, each individually dealing their own damage (and ignoring boss i-frames!). Embrace your wall of destruction.

Oxjack's Guile

< no pickup text >
"Core (Body): Dashing grants a shield!"

Costs 25 Nuts to purchase.

When you dash, a shield appears before you in your direction of travel, blocking projectiles. It's pretty good at allowing you to block some particularly devastating attacks, but it requires some good skill to use as it requires you to dash *into* the source of the danger. Still, in skilled hands, this may be the most powerful Body Core of them all...

The Case Resonator enhances the shield by giving it reflecting properties, similar to the Maintcore enemies. (That's those shielded beetle guys.) Whenever your shield normally blocks something, it immediately retaliates with five small projectiles, hopefully back at the damage source! The best offence is a good defence.

Oxjack's Fury

< no extra pickup text >, +2 Attack Strength, +2 Power Strength
"Core (Arms): Charge time reduced!"

Costs 40 Nuts to purchase.

With this, the time it takes for you to charge your shots gets reduced by 25%! Faster shot charging means that you'll always have a charged shot ready for when you need one. Works especially well for defeating bosses, especially if you have Dracopent's Fang. Doesn't help when charging Quint Laser, however.

Equipping the Force Resonator increases the speed of your charge even further - charging a powerful strike now takes exactly half a second! Charged shots will probably be your primary damage dealer at this point, but do remember the size of the lemons when you need precision.

Oxjack's Blitz

Airdash Online!
"Core (Legs): 4-way dash in midair!"

Costs 30 Nuts to purchase.

A speedrunner's boon! You can dash horizontally for extra speed, upwards for a little extra height or downwards for.. uhh.. reasons? It can be difficult to control, but with good practice you'll be able to weave in and out of danger far faster than Armatort or Owlhawk users ever could. As a bonus, the more Run Speed you have, the faster your airdash becomes, too!

If a single airdash isn't enough, the Kinetic Resonator grants you an extra one! Which surprisingly increases the control of this Leg Core quite a bit, as you can now follow up an upwards dash with a horizontal one to give you back that much needed speed. Still can't go diagonal, but this is the next best thing.

Oxjack, the Flash (Set Bonus)

Ultimate Airdash Online!
"Triple air dash!"

What's better than one airdash? Three! This Set Bonus grants you two extra air dashes, letting you become the danger-weaving god you've always dreamed of. That, or you could just dash three times vertically and get some serious air. Your call, really.

I know I said I would make a 30XX version of this guide, and I still fully intend to. Progress on it has been very slow though because I've mostly been focused on updating the official wiki instead. And now 1.0 is on the horizon, so there's even more work to do! (Plus, 30XX is a considerably larger game, and this guide alone is large enough!)

The only upgrade to boss weapons I can think of is having all pieces of the Owlhawk set. The set bonus (Juiced Powers) makes boss weapons stronger. You might've also had Patchwork Connector or Patchwork Integrator, which reduces the amount of pieces you need to get the set bonus!

just to put it out there, Uncharging Force doesn't affect Dracopent set effect. strictly speaking, it just seems to disable charging, but the always charge shots effect will still work

Noticed it was the only one left without a cost, so I kept an eye out for it. Vibrofocus costs 24 Chips to unlock

Alright, formatting is fixed (as well as I could fix it anyway, apparently the heading text can't be alongside images now, blergh.

Also, new set bonus icons. Took me long enough.

I loooove it when Steam messes up all the formatting without actually telling me why >:(

By the way, Intensifier costs 25 nuts, and Destructor's Might costs 20 nuts: I know that from my more recent runs. I'll grab the text for Destructor's Might when I get it again.
