I may update this mod if I find time to go through the compression heating code and fix it.

This mod implements drag when within a planet's atmosphere and compression heating/re-entry effects when you are traveling very fast in an atmosphere. Heavy armor blocks can be used as a heat shield and will take very little damage from re-entry heating.

Using a speed mod upgrading top speed to 500m/s is recommended for best effect. You will still be able to feel the drag in vanilla but not the compression heating which is at > 250m/s (be careful).

This mod creates a VERY different feel for planetary travel which adds much more depth to gameplay on a planet.

- You will need strong forward thrust to reach significant speed on the planets surface
- Traveling in orbit/space around the planet will be faster and more fuel efficient due to lack of drag
- You can no longer fly into space with only atmospheric thrusters when using speed mod
- Drag will help with reentry of heavy ships that can't slow themselves down fast enough
- You can rotate large side toward direction of travel for max drag and slim side for low drag
- You can produce lift by pulling up and produce side to side force by banking in a turn
- You can glide your ship in a freefall by leaning in a direction while falling
- It is now much more difficult to get into orbit because you will use much more fuel overcoming drag and now must find the sweet spot between efficient hydrogen use vs. speed during your ascent
- Must worry about compression heating during ascent with very powerful rockets
- Re-Entry into an atmosphere at high speeds is now dangerous and you must make sure to have adequate thrust to keep your descent speed under control
- Heavy armor blocks are heavy and expensive but can be used as a heat shield for high speed re-entry. You may choose to do this because you can use the atmosphere to safely slow you down instead of wasting precious hydrogen to keep descent speed under control.


D = V^2*A*P

D = Drag (applied in opposite direction of linear velocity)
V = Linear Velocity
A = Surface area algorithm considering all sides facing the linear velocity
P = Atmospheric Density (100% near surface 0% when you reach edge of atmosphere)
