Upgraded Orca Dropship 2030 Second Tiberium War (No Mods, WIP)

Descripción
The GDI Orca Dropship was a large VTOL aircraft that was designed to transport large amounts of manpower and material. During the time of its construction, it was thought to be the next generation cargo plane. Housing two decks for transporting combat infantry, a vehicle bay for housing 5 ground combat units, and a cargo hold in the aft section, she could easily transport a small outpost. With a quick redesign of her interior, she could move the feared Mammoth Mk. II. This model of the aircraft is outfighted with the more powerful hydrogen engines and thermal shielding, allowing it to dock with the G.D.S.S. Philadelphia. By the time the Third Tiberium War started, the Dropship was considered obsolete by the more capable Ox Transports.

Ok, I posted a WIP of the Ion Cannon with a few screenshots. the large ion thrusters will be removed and the internal workings is currently exposed.

Here is the link to the build. Let me know what you guys think of it.

We'll figure it out. I'm assuming a rotator was used to make the solar panels spin?

Their are a few problems with the build: Ion Cannon has three solar panel arms...SE doesnt allow for such type builds easily thus will have either 2 or 4 arms. SE weapon systems do not travel far enough, thus a small ship projectile is the warhead(beam). Cannon is mobile, which means it will required the station to come to a complete stop in order to fire, however this allows firing on any point of the planet. Station is made out of heavy armor and not recomended for atmospheric use. Screen shots will be posted soon of its WIP.

A non-vanilla version may make an appearnce to use the beam weapons, however it will require finding one that travels at least 50,000 Meters.

MasterJames, I started working on an Ion Cannon tonight. Finished the barrel, man station deck, and the assembly with projectile. Got a lot more to do on it but its 100% vanilla.

i think i see what you're saying; that's how the Dropship worked anyway; the main airframe could separate from the underside cargo pod.

Speaking of which...I'm surprised no one's tried to make a satellite Ion Cannon yet...

Oh I did, it's just I can't get the right angle for what I want to do. I think I might need to make the airship modular like it's supposed to be by using merge blocks. That way I can get the body correct.

The way i build something, I take it little by little, especially if I'm working with pistons in a really confined space.

Save copies, then mess around. And when all else fails, look to modern military and Tiberian Sun! :P
