Welcome to my guide for the basics in block n load!
THIS GUIDE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. IT IS NOT FULLY DONE.

Any suggestions for this guide? Let me know in the comments.

Tips are color coded. Normal text is tips that aren't mistaken a lot or aren't that important. Bold text is moderately mistaken or moderately important.
Blue text is extremely important or mistaken by almost all new players

Scroll down to see the tips.
Button Basics.
Have your tool equipped? (Melee weapon) If so, press "Q" to take out your primary weapon. Press q again to change to your secondary.

Press "E" to take out your tool. (melee weapon)

TIP: DO NOT USE YOUR TOOL FOR ATTACKING ENEMIES. USE IT FOR DESTROYING BLOCKS. IT IS WEAK AGAINST ENEMIES

Press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 to automatically equip your tool and select a block to use at the bottom of the screen.

Use "right click" to place blocks, "left click" to destroy blocks

All weapons in block n load have a "use" button (left click) and an "alt-fire" button (right click).

Hold down the "shift" button to sprint while walking (makes you move faster).

Press and hold the "i" button to see information about your current character.

Hold down "m" to open the map. The map lists all your team's heal blocks, ammo crates, respawn pads, Kira Chan Portals***, and radars. Try to spread radars so they cover every edge of the map, and place health and ammo in key locations.

***Kira Chan Portals look like eggs on your map. Walking into one will take you out the other.
Gameplay mechanics.
This isn't minecraft. You don't mine bricks to get brick, you don't mine sandbags to get sandbags. You mine any block to get blocks, and you use those blocks to buy bricks. Think of it like a shopping mall. Destroying a block gives you money, and you use that money to buy a block of your own.

Sprinting and then jumping causes you to go flying further off a cliff than if you just jumped or just sprinted off.

Attacks on the enemy's head do extra damage. The character "Roly Poly Fat Fat" is immune to this.

Explosive damage hurts teammates. Try to avoid hitting team members with explosives.

There is (some) realistic mechanics in this game. Destroying the blocks at the bottom of a structure will cause it to collapse.

Destroying the block under some blocks like heal stations and ammo crates will cause them to fall. I don't know the exact blocks with this stat, so play around to figure out which blocks react like this.

SPRINTING INTO A BRICK THAT DOESNT HAVE A BRICK OVER IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO AUTOMATICALLY CLIMB OVER IT

You take fall damage. There are exceptions to this rule (like falling into water), but that requires personal game knowledge to figure out.

You don't regen health unless you have an ability or perk or something that specifically states you do.

Your block count is listed at the bottom left of screen. The cost of your personal blocks is listed near them (bricks cost 10 blocks, crates cost 2, etc). Also, there is another number next to them that tells you how many of them you can place before you run out of bricks.
Gameplay Metas
If you want to cover your cube in blocks, don't use bricks or crates. Use sandbags. And only use 1 layer of sandbags. The reason for this is that enemies can block themselves in with the cube and be hard to kill while attacking the cube. Sandbags are hard to destroy, making them viable for blocking in the cube.

DO NOT BLOCK IN THE CUBE IF YOUR TEAM HAS A CHARACTER WITH AUTO-AIM BLOCKS LIKE TESLA COILS OR TURRETS. THIS JUST BLOCKS THEIR SIGHT.

Brains characters are the best defenders.

In some maps, some bricks are already ready in the map, like health, ammo, and radars. These bricks are usually uncovered, though, and open to enemy fire. Cover these with bricks.

Health and ammo blocks work through one block. Bury them one block deep and cover them so your team can heal and ammo regen without it being destroyed.

Bury your radars so they can't be seen.

Have at least one of every class on your team, and have at least 2 people attacking.

Basic Tactics.
Make traps regardless of your role. I don't care if you're a brawn, set up landmines for our base.

Do not place explosive traps too close to each other or they will set each other off.

Destroy enemy mortars. If you are a skill hero, this is one of your main jobs since you are mobile.

GET THE BLOCKBUSTER
THE BLOCKBUSTER GIVES YOU A TEMPORARY SHIELD THAT CAN WIN OR LOSE A GAME

Get supply drops. They are very useful and save you and your team digging time. Skill roles are suited for this as well.

The control basics are covered in the tutorial, so you don't need to cover that. Other than that, basic tactics, and common bad moves should be explained. (Don't cover the cube, make traps, destroy Cog's mortars, etc.)
