DESCRIPTION

The Komodo was designed to replace the aging Raven hull for scout and picket duties within the Republic. Compared to its predecessor, the Komodo delivers a faster, jump-capable ship with full oxygen and station docking systems.

With mid-term facilities for four crew and sufficient storage for ammo, supplies and fuel, Komodos can be deployed in many roles, from transport to scouting and escort duties. Two Gatling turrets with superb arcs of fire provide the main offensive system and an additional two point defence turrets provide extra survivability. Like most patrol boats, the Komodo is lightly armoured and ill-suited to frontline fleet combat.

With the onset of the war with CEU in 2103 the Komodo design was undergoing the prototype shakedown phase. With few Republic designs capable of sub-orbital insertion, pressure was immediately put on engineers throughout the member states to produce viable designs for a variety of planetary roles. With relatively small changes, the Komodo was adapted to a Hydrogen propulsion system, delivering a craft with near identical performance which is able to handle planets of up to 1G.

Forgot to add @Whiplash141 - you are 100% correct - it has been amended on the future templates (and will probably get update here the next time a revision causes a performance change).

Welcome back, to the ship building business!

Neato :) Glad to see you are still in the ship making business. Also small thing I noticed: Should the little ship acceleration diagram in the bottom right of the second and third images use the units m/s^2 and not m/s?

Welcome back Tristavius!

Damn man, your presentation is second to none!

That's a very nice Patrol Boat, respect for fitting a hydrogen system in such a small hull.

I offer most of my ships with a Legacy version which are 100% stock. They are updated less regularly and may have slightly different performance parameters to the main versions but of course can be used in any world regardless of mod settings. I usually wait a week or so for both blueprint releases so the feedback/ratings don't get spread out.

what is the difference between the regular and Legacy BP?
