Look forward to it. Thought after being one of the first elite players on the C64 in the 80s that this would be easy. How wrong I was!

Hehe,
well easy once you are used to the controls. :3
They might also have changed them at some point. I haven't touched them in quite a while :3

"training missions are fairly easy"
well advanced combat is barely passable for me xd

@Magoobleheimer It's been around 6 months since you asked, and you probably already know by now, but the skinny bar on the far right is fuel. You mostly need it for interstellar travel (between stars), but it's also used (in a much lesser amount) in intrastellar travel (in-system), and in normal space.

Before you jump, the amount of fuel you'll use for that one jump will be highlighted in blue
A helpful tip is that, when plotting a route, check to make sure that the orange lines aren't dashed anywhere. If they are, then you'll run out of fuel (where the dashed line starts), so plan fuel stops accordingly (or get a fuel scoop, which takes hydrogen fuel from certain stars, but even that can only scoop from....certain stars)

I do not agree that the T-6 is useless for trading, is has a great cargo hold, and huge jump range for its price, allowing to make great exploring and long range trading in early game.

I know this is a rather late response but what I do is I keybind 75% throttle. Upon hitting 7 seconds if you decelerate to that 75% you are golden. I tend to watch the HUD more because watching the approaching system makes me think I'll overshoot it. Just make sure you do a Safe Disengage quickly so you don't fly right on by.

Okay 8 sceonds, I'll try that. What does the skinny bar on the far right indicate?
Fluffy Bunny of Despair  [author] 23 Feb, 2016 @ 1:14pm
If you hit around 8 seconds throttle down to middle (indicated with a blue bar) you should now not overshoot :3
