Crawler mod. A

Opis
Minimalist tracked design (vanilla, no mods)
n.b. That the blueprint provided is hobbled in order to allow the tracks to be included in the same blueprint as the chassis. The connecting bar must be removed before use.

Steering is performed by reversing the direction of the tracks on one side, or by cutting propulsion to one side. These are provided on the toolbar by default.

Mod. A incorporates the extended tread which increases stability, at the cost of extra track weight. It may be reverted by removing the smaller diameter tyres bolted on to the core track.

Compared to the unmodified variant:
-Much flatter profile
>Naturally travels in a much straighter path
>Smoother ride.
-Better contact area and grip
>Less prone to tracks spinning.
>More resistant to turning, especially at low speed or when pivoting.
-Heavier track
>Requires more power to move.
>Limits hill-climbing as power is effectively capped by durability.

Specifications:
-Top speed is effectively limited to 30 kmph by track friction in this design. Increasing power will not increase effective top speed.
-Power of the drive wheels should be limited to 70% or else the drive wheels may destroy the rotors forming the track bed.
>(Higher powers may be safe in straight lines, but frequently breaks tracks if turning or after a turn)

Limitations:
-Natural gravity configuration; it may be made to work in artifical gravity by fitting the chassis with artificial mass and dropping the power, but the problem with tracks in zero-g is making them actually touch the drive wheels.
-Not survival friendly; the track may be efficiently constructed, but SE physics makes fitting it... interesting.
-Seems to spontaneously explode in multiplayer if used by anyone other than the host. (I'm actually surprised it doesn't do this anyway with the current state of rotors/suspension.)

Extensions:
-Track friction may be reduced, increasing top speed and general efficiency.
>e.g. removing the "skids" and adopting a slack-track design. However, this tends to lead to track oscillations that place too much lateral force on the tracks when they are brought back in to line after too much time out of the guides, and the guides are then destroyed. This is especially true during and after turning.
-Reduction of unwanted force of the drive wheels on the track bed, increasing available power.
>(generally, decreasing the weight will do this)
-Reinforcement of the track beds, increasing the punishment they can take from the drive wheels.

Manners, much?

(And please, let me know if the answer if you will do, or not, I don't like silence...)

But make it with large blocks

Can you make 5 wheeled track with suspension?

Hmm...
