Very shortly after Titan was colonized in the late 2060s, house Verhoven (now destroyed) of what is now known as the CEU tried to preempt the Phoenix civilization from ever existing by sending a biological scourge in the form of genetically engineered lifeforms called Sabiroids. The project itself proved to be unsuccessful, as the colonists managed to develop defenses against them, and they became nothing more than a nuisance.

Still, Sabiroids became a subject of many monster movies and thriller novels throughout the Republic, and something of a cultural icon. It was this idea that PFS latched onto, combining it with the corporation's patriotism, to name a ship 'Sabiroid'. By this, the corporation hoped to create a sort of propaganda icon, using the name of the very creature sent to destroy the Republic to instead destroy its enemies.

The result was an aggressively styled Low Altitude Assault Frigate designed to wipe out enemy fortifications on planets. The Sabiroid is built to host a squadron of drones, as well as serve as a refuel and re-arm port for Gargoyle LAAC Gunships. In this way, it can launch its drones ahead of itself to take out key enemy defenses. Anything too threatening for a drone or gunship to take care of can be eliminated with the LAARP missiles that the ship is capable of producing on the field. Once primary defenses are down, the Sabiroid rushes in to hover over the enemy fortification and bombard it with volleys of rockets.

----------------------------- USER MANUAL --------------------------

Controls - to use the craft, sit in a seat, hit K, go to the group labelled "**Control**" and hit "Control"

Tab 1 - Ship Controls

1. Emergency Boosters On/Off
2. Reverse Thrust On/Off
3. Gatling Turrets On/Off
4. Missile Turrets On/Off
5. Docking Lights On/Off
6. Running Lights On/Off

Tab 2 - LAARP Launcher Controls

1. View Missile Bay
2. Welders On/Off
3. Missile Bay Doors Open/Closed
4. Fire Missile
5. View Targeting Camera

To fire the missile, turn the welders on (2) and wait for the missile to be fully constructed. You can view the missile bay camera (1) to help you make sure it is finished. Turn the welders off, make sure the missile bay doors are open (3), and then fire the missile (4). Wherever you point the ship, the missile will follow. You can use the targeting camera (5) to zoom in and ensure a precise hit.

FLIGHT DYNAMICS

Remember that the most powerful thrust is below. Therefore, bank when turning and pull up the nose when trying to stop for better results when maneuvering. The ship is also fairly maneuverable, so to stop it is much easier to simply turn the ship around and use the forward thrusters, should you choose to not do the option of pulling the nose up.

If you find yourself falling towards the surface too quickly, you can activate the emergency boosters (hydrogen fueled) to help slow your descent. There is also a proximity sensor to warn you when the ventral fin is within 25m of the ground, giving you a good idea as to when to activate this.

You can also turn reverse thrust off to be able to cruise forward without having to hold down W.

Weapons don't fire. Do not use.

for some reason the ship will always bank sideways and fall towards the planet some time after i stop controlling it, even if i leave it totally stopped and completely paralell to the surface and with the ventral thrust pointing downwards

Very cool. I normally use the rotor trick to make tables for executive board room. Never though of doing a full cockpit that way.
Lord Commissar  [auteur] 21 jan 2016 om 18:28
yes, connected via rotor and locked down by landing gear

Is that a small ship bridge interior?

try tweaking the strength of the connector in the interface.

SE has also had many ongoing issues when trying to connect ships....
