The 'What to'
To win a match of Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe you need to conquer three boards in a row, like the original three squares but a more beefed up version. Complete each board you can, and get three completed in a row to win!

The 'How to'
Where you can place your knot or your cross is dependent on which of the nine small boards is blue/red, which depends on you being a knot or a cross.

And which board you can place on is determined by the square on the miniboard that your opponent placed on (The darker shade of knot/cross is the last one placed by your opponent),

As you can see with my 'expert' diagrams, placing the knot in the top right corner of a box makes the next placement the top right board, and the center right box makes your next move the center right board.

Now then, when you get to having some of the boards completed, you will notice that occasionally you can play anywhere you like, this is because your opponent placed their knot/cross in a square that corresponds to a board that has already been conquered.

Now that you know what puts the Ultimate in Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, go out and win some!
